Hey man. Good video. Its hard to know what to take, they recently started giving recruits a "get you in" kit. There's tent pegs, a wash bag, few other bits. But it doesn't tell you everything that's in it ! And some of the other stuff that was previously on the kit list, is missing. Haha (Bungees & plastic bags off the top of my head). I've also heard on another UA-cam post, by a newly trained soldier, that some take their own rifle cleaning kit. But a Corporal from my afco said you aren't allowed to use it unless it's issued. Any idea? Cheers mate.
100% you don't need to take your own rifle cleaning kit 🤣 A lot of it is common sense to bring however it is to ask someone who has been through it what you should actually get.
Hey mate, what’s the deal with mobile phones? I understand they won’t be allowed day to day when we’re training but on down time do we have free will to use them in our accommodation?
Afternoon, you won't be using your own trainers during phase 1 training. On initial kit issue you will be given 2 pairs of trainers. 1 for indoor pt and 1 for outdoor pt
@@maxspain46 It is pretty much exactly the same however they will give you a bunch of immunisations and also take some blood. Usually it's done quickly.
great video pal! Sure the tips will help people out just starting phase 1 !
Thats the plan my guy
based of my experience i think canoe bags and sealable bags to waterproof your stuff for excercise is good
You can use them in phase 2 or at unit, but not allowed in phase 1
@@KingSloth we all used them in phase 1
@@MasonH-rq9fg Jesus things have definitely changed since I went through
Big help I start basic training at Winchester 11th june
Some say the best soldiers are made in Winchester
I’m heading Winchester on the 7th March
Exact same place I did my phase 1 ☺ Is there anything I can help you with ?
@@KingSloth atm no but how’s the accommodation here many mixed views about Winchester
Great tips
Cheers David, hope your having a good week so far 😄

Hello, great video! Massive help. I’m starting basic training this month, Could you recommend the Iron you used for basic?
If I remember rightly it was a russel hobbs steamglide.
If you can't get that just find the heaviest iron you can get for your budget
@@KingSloth Massive help bud. Thank you!
@@megawhitewolf99 No worries my guy 😄 I'll be live on Twitch tonight if you have anymore questions

Once you have finished your day to day work and admin then you are near enough free to do what you like
What happens if ur on uc and you dont have a suit or a iron
The shit isn't necessarily a problem as sometimes in the block people leave them behind. If you haven't got a suit just dress as nice as possible
What trainers do you need to take to phase 1 because when you see videos they all have same ones and I’m not sure which ones to buy

Great video

@@KingSloth what kind of medical do hey do onth firsts days when you do phase 1 training? Is it the same as he assessment centre?
@@maxspain46 It is pretty much exactly the same however they will give you a bunch of immunisations and also take some blood. Usually it's done quickly.
@@KingSloth so heart monitoring, hearing test machine, eye test all over?
@@maxspain46 If I remember rightly it does yes. It's a whole day medical aswell.
Could i bring my Nintendo switch? As its like a mini screen with a controller?
Should be fine to bring that. We had lads bring gaming laptops so a switch should be fine.
@@KingSloth yeah watched the video fully btw, assessment centre soon then HOPEFULLY phase 1 soon after, sh*tin it lol, thankyou tho bro
@@lovin5721 You'll be fine mate. Keep working on your fitness and you'll be fine.
