...if they hold to their word, Dodge has said that if you pay MSRP then they will build yours first...if you pay an inflated price, then they will build yours later....if they have time/parts left...I could be wrong on all of that but I think that's what they said at launch when asked about the stupid markups the first time around....

Yup. I have to agree with you. And just in time since our fearless president recently announced he's putting a stop to fossil fuels so we can go all electric. Ha! It'll never happen though. Where does Mr Potato Head think plastic comes from? Electricity? Try crude oil. Imagine buying one of these Demons today and putting it up on blocks for about 20-30 years. when the first demon came out i thought it was insane that a production car could be that powerful. now I'm not sure what to think. its certainly one way to put an end to the challenger. and personally it was always one of my favorite cars.

Unfortunately, most states have laws preventing direct to consumer sales by auto manufacturers. If you want you can look into the history of how that came about.

It is so funny reading posts complaining about dealer markup. This is not dealer markup. This is purely market driven. People are calling and offering 200k over what ever the price is to make sure they get it. This is beautiful. If this thing goes for less than 500k it will be history in the making for a vehicle with over 1k HP.

This car is most certainly awesome, but there's one huge problem. Finding one at sticker. Dealerships are pulling tactics to skirt around the sticker price with questionable tactics. You know who really wants one of these cars? Nicks's Garage. Nick's been 52 years in the Mopar game. He's trying to get one of these cars, but sadly is unable to acquire a slot for one. I hope Tim/Dodge has been able to see my messages. Get this man a car, please. I can't think of anyone more deserving than him. I'm pretty sure if Tim checked out his videos, he'll completely understand. At the end of the day, the Demon 170 was meant to be driven. Driven by enthusiasts. Not picked up to be resold for a higher price, or to sit on a showroom floor.

As much as i love dodge, the 0-60 in 1,66 seconds WITH ROLLOUT! They didnt mention anywhere that it's with Rollout. Without rollout, it's likely between 1,7 and 1,8 seconds. Still incredibly fast though.
I was about to say even without rollout it's still under 2 seconds which is insanely fast for what is essentially a brick on 4 wheels with 1000 hp xd

At my dealer it’s 250k over and a 50k non refundable deposit

Tesla still wins. Equal jump off the line but that Tesla has no gears, it never stops pulling. I'd still take this over the Tesla.
@@j.a.r.family2576 well if you believe what has been said about the Demon 170 it can do the quarter mile in 8.9 seconds while a Plaid can do it in 9.2 seconds which would make the Demon faster.
But I guess the only true way to know which one is going to be putting them side by side against each other.
Also while the Tesla doesn't have gears and never stops pulling that doesn't automatically mean it's faster just saying ^^

I just read that the Plaid has apparently done a 8.7 second quarter mile so faster then the Demon but not by much.
I feel like Dodge could sell a whole lot of these. Why sell such a limited number? Plus if they sold more than 3300 maybe it would stop the dealers from price gouging.

Im glad it exists, but the 2018 Demon looks about fifty times better imo. The wheels and the removed widebody front fenders makes it look like a regular challenger to me.

This is the last HEMI. If we get another ICE Dodge, there’s a much higher chance it’ll have the hurricane inline 6. Otherwise, Dodge is going all electric, as was previewed by the Charger

@@shmiggz They confirmed it themselves. Their future was always going to be EV, even before the merger with Stellantis. They said that ON STAGE at the very event they revealed the Demon at. Besides, they’re not going bankrupt going EV. As long as they play their cards right, which they seem to be doing (although ppl are losing their minds over it because they’re absolute dinosaurs)

Dodge will go almost fully electric (apart from the before mentioned hurricane inline 6) and will not build any more V8's. That is not what Dodge wants but they don't have a choice in this.

I'm with you. I love my 2015, bought it new after passing it on the lot for 6 months when they wouldn't sell. Swapped Brembo brakes with SRT spindles from a wreck. 7.0 liter engine based on a brand new 392 block. Love that car.

It all looks great on paper until you go to get one and find out dealers are trying to hold bidding wars and have markups to the point of Lambo money. For an American car with Dodge build quality? No thanks

Yeah, way to go Dodge. Your sales tactics on this thing has priced all of your loyal enthusiasts out of actually buying one. When this thing was announced I drove to 3 separate dodge dealerships to try to order one because the price seemed very reasonable for what it is. But here in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where things are usually cheaper than New York, Florida, California, etc. I was told the dealer mark up was between $50,000 - $150,000 BUT I shouldn’t worry, they would put the order through as a sticker price sale so I would get my car sooner than everybody else. Yeah right. You have priced out all of your blue collar diehards with your sales tactics and price gouging over the past 2 years. You are killing your brand and I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if you’re doing it on purpose so you can try justifying phasing out all your gas powered cars and trucks because they’re “not selling” so you can try to push your EVs on the world.
