I enjoyed your tutorial very much! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us an inspiring me to try seeing fabric scraps as endless possibilities! Is the clear thread you use made of plastic? Is it the rubbery kind? That is the only one available where I live, the kind used to make jewelry that seems similar to fishing line but much thinner...

I love your videos. How do you get all these little fabric scraps? I mean do you go to the store and just buy little pieces of yardage?

I get them from all over really. I often get given fabric when people are destashing, but I also go to scrap stores, charity shops, vintage fairs and also the end of line bins at the fabric store.

Is there a reason (other than linen is gorgeous; but it’s being covered) you use linen for the foundation fabric?

Yes, this particular fabric is firm but fine, so is easy to use without an embroidery ring which is the way I prefer to work.

There are many types of linen and I haven’t been able to source anything that looks transparent and is firm, would you be able to point me in the right direction please? Your work is beautiful, I saw some at the Doddi art show.

Hello Chris, I use something called fine firm tarlatan scrim which I sell in my Etsy shop. Here is the link www.etsy.com/uk/listing/945746410/fine-stiff-tarlatan-scrim?click_key=298c871a08b1eee427ea17516ea28285420def47%3A945746410&click_sum=acb7ac17&ref=shop_home_active_1&frs=1&crt=1
