1:30 I don't understand the bit where he creates objects on different layers then saves it to the CC library and it remembers it. When I do it, when i paste it in a new document, it doesn't add the layers like in the pervious document, but just pastes it grouped on the default single layer. How did he do this???
@@CreativePro_com Thanks for replying. I asked this on Reddit and got the answer from there too. This is an absolute game changer for me with setting up different templates!
I'm writing a graphic memoir, and I can't figure out the most efficient way to work with pages and layers. I've made each page a layer, but that doesn't seem right. Would you suggest another way?
I wouldn't suggest each page being a layer, no. Pages can be broken into sections, if that works for your piece. Using master pages for recurring and duplicate items is highly suggested. As far as layers go, it really depends on your needs. Some people put all text on one and all graphics on another. Others need to have multiple items stacked on top of each other in a particular order and layers can make that easier (so can arranging the items within layer in the Layers panel). Layers can be used to lock down items that shouldn't move, or that only need to print in some instances... like putting different language versions on their own layers, then turning them on/off to export to PDFs. Layers give you lots of options and it only makes sense to use them if they help your workflow. -EG
IN 3 mins he explained so much more than if you were to combine ALL other 'layer' videos on YT

Make sure you have “paste remembers layers” turned in in the Layers panel.

How did Nigel get the 4 layers to the library to move to the new document. Doh!
