Keep it up. Really like the videos and hope to see more. Books are great to learn the moves you talked about but learning solid fundamentals is key. Recording your game and watching yourself in matches is good. Everybody has different backswings so maybe a video on solid fundamentals like backswing and pre shot routine would be dope. Keep it up sir

Books are always better than the movie. Robert Byrne and Phil capelle are a great start. " You don't know what you don't know " One of my favorites is " how to beat people with a stick, 129 ten minute pool lessons", by Tom Simpson. Tim the monk Miller has many books as well. I love them all and have read most more than twice

@@PoolNerdsTV I've noticed that by reading many pool books; each book has more than one nugget for your game.
There's so many pool books ... Ralph eckert's book called "structure" is another favorite. Philip b. Capelle and Robert Byrne books are what I have the most of... I have all 3 of the ones you mentioned ... ray" cool cat" martin - 99 critical shots I've bought more than once. Great books are hard to find. Keep an eye out for buddy hall, the rifleman, book. Very rare " from rags to rifleman"

Great video, thanks for the info. My brother recommended a book about a year ago called “Poolology” . I was curious if you have read that one. I’m going to try and order the three you recommended.

@@ralphmason5137 no problem.. Poolology written by Brian Crist out of West Virginia, I know Brian played some games with him here in Atlanta.. Great player and wonderful person. I’m sure what ever he put in the book 📚 you can bet your bank on! Haven’t read it, hell I didn’t know he wrote a book lol but thanks for the recommendation will definitely get my hands on it

Brian wrote a couple books...poolology is a great book and his second book was even better, IMO playing to win i believe it's called
Robert Byrne, Phil capelle and Ralph eckert have many books.
tor Lowry book called pkf (patterns and fundamentals and kicking). I can think of many other books. I have a whole library, it seems. Many e- books as well
Most of the information missing from youtube can be found in a book. Straight pool books have a collaboration of skills needed for nearly every game of pool

Fantastic video ( tho I paused it to write this comment ). I am a complete newbie and have been playing ‘seriously’ for about a month. I bought a Viking Valhalla and love it but am already thinking about upgrading to a carbon fiber so any suggestion there would be much appreciated. I will check out your book suggestions but I’ve always learned better by watching / doing than reading. With that said, I’m struggling on long distance shots. Do you have any particular drills you like? I know I have a lot of other flaws ( ball placement after shot being a big one ) but I’d like to start getting better at long shots. Thanks and keep up the videos ….

I sure do.. 15 ball drill is the best for long shots in my opinion, however the best practice I’ve ever had was remembering a shot I missed and practicing that one shot until I could make it 10 times in a row for however long it takes.. I will upload a video tomorrow about a $200 carbon fiber cue, that I would say is the best on the market. Viking Valhalla is good but I will always recommend carbon fiber
