Lol Dennis didn’t hold back. Didn’t know Johnson wouldn’t support the movie. I saw years ago and liked it - and that soundtrack is wonderful.
Thanks for this, never seen this before.

A very competent director. "The Hot Spot" is a terrific movie. A great story; perfect casting; well acted; great pacing; great direction and edited. You can feel the heat coming out of the screen. And he was right : Johnson was never so good before or since. He should have promoted the hell out of the movie. But ego is a terrible thing. Dennis took no prisoners and always spoke his mind. A great artist. And what an art collection he had. Thanks for posting this and greetings from Prague. CZ

It’s a great movie. And Don was the draw in case Hopper didn’t get that memo. And he was brilliant. I liked Long Hot Summer even better but I love Hot Spot.

Dennis Hopper is one of the best actors ive ever seen, Easy Rider and Blue Velvet. Don Johnson never worked with anyone as talented as Dennis so he refuses to promote the film with Dennis? Yeah, that makes alot of sense.

Dennis hopper was always outrageously narcissistic, but an incredibly interesting person non the less.

wow, what a jerk! don johnson has more talent in his pinky finger than dennis has in his whole body, not to mention DJ is hotter than hell!!,the man can act, sing and has charisma, and miami vice was the best thing he ever did,not the hot spot...it was a good movie..but still, wow does dennis have a really big ego,he didn't promote the damn movie...so what,he acted and did his job, maybe there were personal reasons why he didn't...this interview left me screaming at my phone!

Don Johnson couldn't carry Dennis Hoppers boots see Hoosiers, Blue Velvet and Easy Rider you are confusing real talant for a beauty contest and by the way after all the booze, drugs and hard living Dennis Hoppers done he's a very handsome man

@@scottblanton3182 WRONG,and all those movies sucked and no I'm not confusing anything! and Dennis Hopper being handsome..young or old..EWE,damn you better get your eyes checked..SERIOUSLY🤣you obviously didn't understand my post..i didn't say he was just good looking..

@TheLawlessangel7176 they sucked? Let's see Dennis was nominated for practically every major award for those movies his career goes back to James Dean in Giant and Rebel Without A Cause from the 1950s he directed the very movie your boy Don starred in and yes Dennis was in his fifties when then interview was done and he's a handsome man to be well in his fifties. Don Johnson had little talant and got by only on his looks he's been around since the late 60s and the only thing he did was Miami Vice and then Nash Bridges which he got not because of his talant but his looks....let me put this way looks fade in men and WOMEN but talant does not and either you understand that or well like you i guess you don't. When Don gets nominated for a few Academy Awards and Golden Globe awards like Dennis let me know...and I've read Cybil Shepherds book and Don lasted in the sack with her about a minute Dennis was notorious for womanizing and didn't have that problem

@@scottblanton3182 DJ did a lot more than Miami Vice and Nash Bridges, you read a book(good for you),any other talents,I should know about🙄you will never convince me that DH is better than DJ and I never said anything about Don in bed,so I don't know where the hell that came from, maybe your jealous because DJ is a good looking guy..i don't know, but speaking of being in bed,I know plenty of women that lie about their sexual experiences cause maybe just maybe it was the woman that sucked, maybe she stinks down there, maybe Barbara sucks in bed, would you personally know, have you slept with Barbara or Don,and that's funny that you bring that up,cause sex doesn't make a great relationship! just because you like Hoosiers, easy rider or blue velvet..doesn't mean I have too, there's something seriously wrong with you🤔
