One of your absolute best videos to date, Jonny! Been following you from almost the beginning. Your presentation skills are now top notch. You impart so much knowledge with ease. Keep it up, young man!
Love watching you Johnny .wish I was able to figure how to use this phone better . I would for sure support you . Great job as always . I have probably learned more from you than in my 50 years of bass fishing
This is very interesting. I’ve done well this year swimming ball heads and Swimbaits directly over the top of suspended bass but have not done much with the hover rig trying to call them up. Will definitely give it a try. Another banger video
I Have a lot of respect for your videos, I think they are in a class few are in! I have learned a lot about electronics and offshore fishing from you and I thank you for that! I know this isn’t your angle but man I sure would love to see you hit the opens
Glad you enjoy the videos. I kind of got burned out of tournament fishing because I did it so much growing up. It's a lot more fun and fulfilling for me to make teaching content than fish tournaments
Yes, I've been catching a lot of fish on a Football Jig in these same areas. Some days they want a bait on the bottom, but other days they want to come up to eat the bait. It has been about 50/50 for me this year.
How essential is the FFS do you think? I'm sure it helps a ton but does this technique work well enough just blind fan casting in that 50 ft perimeter?
Can you be successful with this technique without forward facing sonar? I feel like just fan casting without seeing anything would be very unproductive. Thoughts?
Yes, I’ve been catching them by fan casting around the 50 yard circle with a Jig, Crankbait, and TUSH/Spunk Shad combo. I feel like there are days I catch them better when I don’t see them on LiveScope. I’m going to run some tests in my long form videos to see if I can determine when Livescope is necessary and when just fishing the area works better
With so much fishing pressure working unique baits is only half the issue. Controlling fishing pressure is the other. What is being done to provide elbow room?
@@MrColeman631 Yeah, we have a small lake here that produces large smallmouths. there's a tournament at the beginning of the spawn and the fish essentially is unfishable for about 2 weeks afterwards as the pros catch and release about 1000 lbs worth of fish. then at the tail end of the spawn there's a kayak tournament which shuts them down again. people are starting to complain about the pressure. it is a public resource, not an opportunity for a select few to make money off of it at the expense of the public.
I’m gonna have to go with Randy’s view on this kinda stuff ! Yea it’s a good trick but those fish need to be left alone . The main school are getting best to death and now those other fish have no where to hide either because of all this technology! Gonna make a big impact within 10 years ! Guarantee it
Interesting concept since it goes against common bass behavior. Typically loaner bass are less inclined to hit a bait than bass in a school which have to be more aggressive and compete for food.
Livescope is the issue ... last 5 years fish been so pressured they see to many baits and get caught more than in the past . I can't afford LS so I've always fished areas that I found productive in the past I never seen anyone fishing most of the areas I fish and I could catch 20 a day easily now days if you catch a limit your doing good . Also in the past there would only be about 5 boats at the ramp on any given day now days 20 plus boats then add a tournaments once to twice a week now fish don't stand a chance . This sporting is getting like all the rest overcrowded.

@@FishtheMoment That would be great, I enjoy your on the water live cast videos although I have to catch them after the actual time. I’m a shallow fisherman, but trying to learn some offshore techniques for those dog days. Now if I can find those areas. Your instruction helps tremendously. Thank you very much for getting back with me!
Great to see you back dispensing wisdom Jonny. You’re still the most explicit and concise of anyone on the fishing interwebs…
I appreciate his ability to get to the point
Ive been catching like this for years. The fish that break away from the school tends to be hungrier unless the entire school is actively eating.

Your videos are excellent for getting info out to the angler.
Your actual fishing footage and graphics are very good.

Would love to see a video fishing on bridges and bridge piling. I’ve been wanting to learn how to fish those spots.
Amazing, I will give it a chance ❤
Thank you Jonny for the great information.
Randy is going to be blasting you for using Livescope.
Goes to show you, who's Catchin & who's Not.

Not a shot of disrespect at all! Just would love to see the rubber hit the road

@@FishtheMoment totally get that sir! Thank you for what you do!
Thanks for the info
Great info. Thanks! 👍
EXCELLENT! Thank you!
Good info as usual!
Jonny do you have to use forward facing sonar to make this work or am I just literally fan casting the 50yrd circle? Thanks for the great info.
Question, assuming they are so tight to bottom you can’t see them on sonar?? Could a Crig or swing head work??? Thank you for the reply

Nothing

With money being the driving force it’ll probably get a lot worse before it gets any better

My goodness buddy talk about something else. We get it man, you made the tush and hover rig. That's all you've been talking about for months now
Haha my bad. I’ve just been throwing them a lot recently because it’s my first full summer using them. It’s fun catching fish on baits you designed.
You obviously haven’t used it much. The hover rig is a game changer. It’s nice to see someone promote something that works.
Is this a technique that will work without live scope?

This is nothing new...except back in the day instead of livescoping suspended bass. We targeted stumps or brush just off the main structure
