I'm a proud and honored member of the crazies whose rig has been recovered by Trail Mater. Rory, you may not remember, but you saved us late one night when we swamped our Jeep in Cane's Creek. You came out with your daughter and pulled us out about midnight in April 2022. I am forever in gratitude to you my man. Thank you!
I remember that night. I was in my green jeep, we came down from the top and pulled you guys down out the bottom. Search and rescue was on their way but we had you out before they could get in.
@@trailmater Wow!!! You are amazing. Good memory Rory. I was with a crazy dude in his jacked-up jeep that I had just met that day. I should never have gotten in with him and his old lady. Booze, drugs, etc. I was freaking out. Built a fire before you came. Then in the middle of the recovery, you stopped and came walked back to us and asked him if he was okay. You said "your all over the place, your freaking me out". LOL Thank you again. You saved my ass. lol
The "dipstick" trick is one of the first techniques you learn in high school chemistry lab. Why someone would have a problem with that is beyond me as well. Haters gonna hate. ua-cam.com/video/_M5ee_pZ00o/v-deo.html
A tow truck driver once taught me to use a floor mat if there is glass on the seat, just put it on the seat (upside down, as the bottom should be free of glass).. Those things are tough and block all the glass from entering your behind.
I LOVED the dipstick trick! I used it at work right after I saw it because we didn't have a small enough funnel. It was awesome to see the customers re-action.
@@russbell6418 It says that like Tevye’s most recognized song from Fiddler on the Roof, you are a sensitive and 'in-tune' individual. My apologies to Tevye and ET AL for butchering the lyrics.
First time visiting the area from Michigan and I actually saw and took pictures of that Jeep. I've been stalking your channel wondering if I'd see you grab it (our guide pointed us your way). Cool to see it on here. Also, our guide removed some Corona bottles from the Jeep to make it look less suspect for whoever it was...
Not so much of a recovery than a retrieval. It don't matter which. I've been using those bottle tops for awhile but I like the dipstick method. Nice to have you back, but Shawn deserves a raise. He picked up the ball & ran with it. Thanks for sharing
I was impressed by the dip stick trick the first time I saw it. Do the job with whachagot. No worries, the end result is what matters. Keep up the good work Rory, Mike and Shawn!
Nice rolling advertisement for "Be Careful!" To all the Jeep Safariers you're passing on the way out. Love you guys! Looking forward to more Safari episodes on what not to do. 😂😂
The dip stick trick was common practice in the laboratory I worked in in about 1973.. We used glass rods to assist the transfer of liquids/acids from bottles/jugs etc to reduce dangerous splashes
Remember boys n girls to support Rory with his Wrecker race against Cletus by buying merch from the Trail Mater store! I just wished the postage to UK wasn't as expensive as a Tee Shirt is
Rory really impresses me. I hope everyone that deals with him appreciates his forward thinking. Even if it is just giving Mike some glasses. LOL "I'm Mikeing it today" with his thumb in a big electrical tape bandage :)
Way to go Mike in handling that Jeep w/ glass shattered pieces flying into you and on you. Rory - great recovery and getting the Jeep on its 4 wheels & running! Shawn.& Mike...great tackle on the wrench!!
1:10 Young pups today have no idea who Rube Goldberg was and how his convoluted cartoons were so clever. Opening scene in Back to the Future was great fun to watch. Thanks for the memory recreation.

TrailMater is always prepared with the fluids needed for a recovery. That alone speaks to the needs that Rory anticipates.
That past experience dictates fluid ,fluid , fluid you can never have eough fluids
Legend has it that Rory came out of the womb prepared with a bag of tools, fluids, mini welder and a tow strap
He's a true professional thru and thru
I never knew Rory was such a “gentleman” opening and closing the door for Mike like that.
And people say chivalry is dead. 🤣

Unless it’s one of the floor mats with the little spikes, then decisions need to be made 😎
@@squiggyg.8415 I'm not sure what would be worse, spikes that stay with the mat or glass that has to be tweezered out.
Great to see you guys work as a team for problem solving, and thanks for no crappy music.

Really good thing that wind shield wiper fluid was full!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂

I thought the dip stick trick was slick Rory. I hope to use it sometime.
Saw that Jeep in the Trailmater yard on our way through Moab - the owner is lucky and blessed to have Rory, Mike, and Shawn to save his rig for him!
Didn't see a check on blinker fluid.... What kinda circus are y'all running over there???!!! LOL Scotty from Texas..
