I'd say its definitely the best kit available right now. I do tend to agree with you regarding those little gripes you have...I like things to be perfect with fitment and placement as well but to be completely honest, I think BMW did a piss poor job with leaving the tail lights and turn signals in the damn rear fender. That's an area where you can define the styling of your new model and they just left the back of the bike as a giant piece of plastic. Not impressed.
I seem to remember the same LED housing used for Ducati's Fender Eliminator kit. So I think it was a cost saving measure to reuse the same housing for this kit. Pretty much unacceptable when you're spending over $200 for the kit, and their profit margin for is over 100 per kit. They prioritized profit for fitment here.
Jaret Campisi BMW designed it so it would all come off track day, the design was not designed to appease street riders. Design was strictly for function and to come of as a complete unit and blocked off on track day, that’s all.
Was gonna say exactly what @Azberga said. It's 100% for track ease. And it does a really REALLY good job of that. Mirror and tail light/plate removal on this bike is incredibly simple and thorough. And with no actual tail light, there's nothing to cover up. On top of that, the OEM fender is one of the better looking ones I've seen on a sportbike. With it being illegal to modify that in a lot of countries, it's just a better solution. But for us in the States who habitually take them off right away, it definitely isn't ideal and I personally would prefer a dope looking real tail light. Here's to hoping a company comes out with their own thorough solution that adds a tail light.
bmw designed everything so the bike is street legal in germany . minimum distance between indicators ... number plate needs to be the last part of the bike and so on
It’s a solution for the time being, curious to see what TST industries comes out with as they always make pretty impressive kits and I’ve used them for the majority of my bikes... but like I said, it works for now, but definitely keep your eyes open for potentially a better solution in the future (I agree, having the amber turn lights when using turn signals would be ideal over the whole unit just being red... improvements need to be made for sure, but it’s a start! Bike looks better tho...
listen here partner, i heard your complaints, i just installed mine on a 23, and the shape is an issue, sealing is an issue, dont stress, they didnt fit then, they dont fit now, your complaints are accurate and valid. im with you 100 percent
I purchased the euro model and after 6 months it started to rust inside and water ingress caused the turn signals to stop working. NRC we’re kind enough to replace the insert. But I will not be purchasing again. A better system would be something that is completely water tight and maybe integrated in those gaps or maybe replace the rear panel altogether with built in lights! Give it time and I think someone will nail it but we are not there yet. For now I’ll probably stick with the original with maybe a evotech tail tidy.
Rage makes good stuff but turn signals are not legal. I am very particular on my bikes with tail tidies. Evotech are the most expensive but the nicest. They use Billet aluminum which is hollow to run wires through. Not a piece is stamped steel with wires hanging out. I keep stock turn signals so I can use Weiser 2 in 1 combined led driving lights/turn signals/brake light front and rear kits. So your front turn signals can be additional driving lights/turn signals and your rear turn signals are brake lights in addition to your OEM brake light. Very safe and neat/tidy.
Just a friendly reminder, the front wheel is just there to maintain balance. Meaning its not 100% important. BUT it should be Free Flowing. MEANING it should be in Motion with electricity running through it at a constant current or flow, BUT it needs to be able to grab at anytime. so you can slide and shit. like the wheel spins really fast and...you go side ways basically but wiith both wheels and that will prevent bad user errors and for cool shit to happen
The LighTech Chain Adjusters are awesome. Ran them on the built 15' 750 and pushed em back about +15mm and it was a completely different bike. Flopped side-to-side like a champ.
If you pian on installing a licence plate it's easy to fit a led rear/brake light strip to it. Than add Kellerman bullet Atto indicators. Small, super bright and easy to install anywhere on the bike.
Yassss! I knew you would be getting this fender eliminator its hands down the cleanest solution ive seen so far as soon as I saw it I knew it was the one I'd be getting too
Hmmm post thoughts watching install, I wonder if tst industries is going to have a cleaner piece. But this is definitely the best solution available currently
After putting it together I didn’t encounter the annoying problems you had,two of those four bolts are shorter then the other,if you put the shorter bolts in the back you can mount that part without interruption, also if you route the license plate light to the left the wire reaches with a little room to spare, also a tip for you or anyone reading this,a easy hack to install those lock things you put in the bolts where the white spacers are,is to take a deep dish socket and use that to push them right on,I used a 8mm deep dish socket in my case and I had them one working seconds
Not a fan at all with that tail light, to bad it doesn't has orange turn signals plus what you point out about the lines, fitment and all the other flaws. I think there needs to be a better and more visible solution.
@@motonosity do you like the us style? Seems confusing since it's such a small surface that lights up. Maybe my lighting is overkill but I do ride during in the dark, rain and winter conditions.
I haven’t liked NRCs stuff in the past but on that bike I think it looks pretty good. Love the glow on the tail and it’s definitely the best option out right now.
They have to curve the fender eliminator kit in order to get more light facing backwards. If they used sharp angles you would have a lot of light shining off to the side instead of behind you. I do agree that gaps between the plate and the bike would drive me crazy.
On my Ducati Monster 696 the new rage cycle kit was also a pain in the ass to put together! I even drill some hole to the fender kit to align the screw hole! New rage cycle cool look but bad fitting
Love the say it as it is attitude, let’s hope the company that make them are listening and tacking note. Like I know the first set of mirror blanking plates are,and changing them. Bet he even puts the angles to follow tank in, next mock up.👍🇬🇧
The tidy tail fitment messes with the remount of the OBD2 connector and the general usability of the trunk. The lights don't seem big and bright enough. I like bright stop lights, in particular, for safety. I also don't know why it wasn't simply designed to replace the two-screw base for the standard tail piece. I tracked my bike a few weeks ago and moved the electrical connectors - both turn signals and the stop light - from under the rear fairings to each side of the trunk bay so I wouldn't need to remove the fairings again next time I track-prep it. I don't know how many clips/unclips it has in it.
Those white spacers are usually for damping vibrations coming from license plate. Not sure why they use these cheap ones though. You get better quality pinch rubber dampers for this purpose.
I think matching the lines of the tail is more important. By doing that it keeps the gaps even all the way across. Probably could use a little bit better fit and finish but I think for only $220 it’s a steal. Keep up Vids my dude been fallowing forever
If you want to remove that engraving, grab some black model oil paint and acetone. Colors in the engraving, then remove the paint on level surface with acetone in tissue/cotton ball
It looks really really cool, totally fits the modern look of the bike. I'd say a good purchase since it's so much better than stock. I wish the quality was a little bit better though .. There shouldn't be any gaps. Maybe someone will make a perfect one a few months from now.
