    Pink worms make those steelheads bite when they are lethargic or muddy water

    You should look into making a tool out of a pen or straw, you won't waste any material

      Yeah... I've seen several of those videos but didn't have big enough straws when I first tried it.

    Why not eliminate the split shot and weight the fly more, the way most euro Nymphs are tied.

      This video was done many years ago before euro nymphing was main stream. Even so, you can only put so much weight in an egg fly and I cannot use 2 nymphs in those waters and those waters require some weight to get the right drift. So even today, I put split shot on my dropper tag to get the right drift.
