Jordan just pissed off a bunch of fly fishing purists lol. Great idea when there is no bug hatch to match. Great tutorial once again.
funny because bead fishing is literally "matching the hatch"
@@Spencer_Plant_Projects exactly why i said when theres no bug hatch to match.
Only the snobbiest fly anglers out there would look down on this and say it isn’t fly fishing.
@@andrewcase7615 You probably shoot your ducks on the water and your pheasants on the ground...
This guy is an all around educator. Genuine caring attitude and easy to follow .... great channel...!
Great video. I love the water haul cast in moving water like that. It's quick and easy and works perfectly with beads and weighted flies. I love to show you.
Great video, You’ve taught me so much since Ive watch you, I never knew about the beads until this moment and its great that i watched these. My fly fishing has greatly improved.
Thanks again Jordan! I love this style of fly fishing for trout
Killer video jordan ! I've been spinnfishing / flyfishing my whole life and never heard of the bead tec. You do a great job of explaining every part. Right on man. Keep up the good info. Vids.
I'm still new at fly fishing. Y'all do a great job of explaining things so I'm looking forward to seeing more.
Always enjoy the education I get from the Addicted crew. Stay Awesome and keep it Kickass in the land of the midnight sun 😂
Another amazing lesson from the Zen guru. Thanks Jordan!
I've bought almost all Okuma products (spin and fly, except for my reel), since watching your channel and have loved all of them. Thanks for all the recommendations. Good products without draining my bank account and I catch plenty of trout here in Utah.
YES!!! Caught another one in a tutorial!!! I love it!
Anything flyfishing is the best way in my book! Great video Jordan.
Excellent tutorial Jordan. Very detailed and thorough.
Great tips im a fly fisher my self and love it as wel as trout fishing ive never tried bead fishing. Usually nymphin with beaded hare ear or non beaded. Seems to be the best in my area.
Good stuff, Jordan. Just taught this old dry fly/nymph fisher a new trick.
Nice ,hooked my attention good stuff. First found your podcast then you tube been on it for two weeks. Definitely worth my time you guys rock !
Very cool, like the fly fishing stuff Addicted is getting into. Keep it up on all the fishing tutorials guys!
Great instructional video. Thank you!
I use that same setup for summer/ winter steelhead awesome video guys
Great videos very well done best vids I’ve seen yet on float fishing for Steelhead and salmon!! Keep them coming!
Fly rod, level wind or a spinning rod every thing eats eggs. But you are right about the hook and bead spacing, my hook ratio went up and pulled hooks went down
I love fly fishing never used a beed before have to try using it. Thankyou Jordan I have learned a lot from you.
Good stuff just another alternative when fishing. Great for fall fishing
Video quality is on point!
Good content. No nonsense. Very well presented. Thank you!
Thanks for the fly fishing video definitely worth the time, would definitely like too see more
This video is awesome, thanks Jordan
Great presentation on how to bead fish!
I fly fish but never used beads. I learned a lot from this video and I'm going to give it a try. Thank you.
going to have to try this,
Excellent video Jordan. Love how you teach brother. Ordered some trout beads!!!! Thanks again for the instruction
Great job!
This is a great tuturial, I love answering the phone and hanging it up. Better than hammering.
Cool video, that Okuma looks like a great "foot in the door" setup for fly fishing as most setups are really intimidating from a price point. As someone who generally prefers fly fishing it's great way to fish when you don't have to cast very far and you have a good idea where the fish will be. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the tip on the use of beads on a fly rod Jordan.
I had a dual fly rig with egg sucking leech and a bead off the end.
Caught a 7 or 8 pound winter steelhead this afternoon in the north fork Nooksack river.
You guys really do a great job,. Thanks
Awesome tutorial. Can't wait to try this on the Kenai tomorrow!
Thanks for the great tutorial. I will give this a try up here in the Olympic peninsula in Washington state!
Thanks for the video, I actually learned a few things. :) I'm glad I found this channel. 🤘
Great video, packed with a lot of info. Keep up the good work
Well now i have to get fly fishing gear since you’ve made a video about it. Perfect lol
Excellent tutorial!
Just got a starter rod and hope to get some fall fish. Not sure where I'm gonna go, but hopefully no one will be around when I snag up on everything 🙃. Great video, hope to see more.
totaly new to me! will do
Great info thanks for the tips 🤙
I gotta try this
When the fish swims up stream he stays calm me would have turned around, and ditch the camera and cast away lol!!😂😂 love the video thanks man best vid ever!
Wow your doing just like i do! I have a kit with the same beads too! More 8mm than 6mm but im fishing the tribs for a little bigger trout. I have recently been trying different floats in search of the ultimate float for me. But same principles. Thanks man! Great video! Sub added! Fish on!!
bruh i was just rewinding and watching the salmon blowup and swimming in the background lol
Nice video. And some fish were caught! 👌
I new it. New video was 🔥 thanks for the tutorial
Love bead fishing with fly rod!
Bravissimo! 👏🎣🤘
Thank you for tutorial. Great set up
Keep up good work man. I'm trying this set up this weekend. Subscribe, liked
Awesome tutorial man, about to hit the salmon run here in Ontario with the glass bead technique.
Great stuff once again I'm always curious about what month it is in your videos.. but i always learn something on Addicted Fishing thanks..
First, thank you for all the awesome videos
I Love. fly fishing was catching 5 to 6 pounder awesome fight on fly
Nice trout🐟🎣👍🏼 cool spots👀 Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪✌🏻️
Been trout fishing for quite some time now and would love to get into fly fishing, just seems so intimidating.
Did anyone see the fish surface over his right shoulder at the 2:01 mark. Awesome!!
Sockeye salmon spawning in the background. When they turn red, you don't want them! Cool to watch; bad to eat!
I really need to get out with these guys an have them teach me some stuff great fishing guys I wanna see Jordan fishing with a centerpin next
Decades ago, if you ever fished with an old Winona reel, you were fishing with a true center-pin reel. Big difference was that some Winona's came with a small leather piece you could use to control the drag, without burning the heck out of your thumb or busting your knuckles on a hard running fish. I still have the two I used for boucou years. Remove the drag from today's fly fishing reels and you have a center-pin reel. Casting methods are a bit different but the rod actions are very similar (single or two handed methods.
Here I am jealous he has the new G4Z’s this early. Solid tutorial, looks like a blast!
Sam Remington Sam they are so next level! I was jealous too! - Marlin
Thank you for your help i enjoyed your video i thought i needed a taper all the time.
The fish rising at 8:45 is awesome
Great tutorial on fly fishing with beads. I learned something new and I will try it out ASAP. One thing I'd really like to know though -- Where are you fishing? State/River?
Trout beading for trout, coho likely the same. I’ll give it a try here in BC. Thanks for the enlightenment.
I used to live up there I did for 1 year and saw this red hunch back chum and of course my fly line was stuck in the tree for 5min while I was there😂😂
I would honestly like to see when the time comes a whole tutorial about fly fishing for creeks rivers steelhead trout possibly even salmon the whole Bang You know what lbs line what lbs leader what flies to use when and where length of rod and size reel and how to cast!
Came over from SBFishingTV, subbed just on general principle. :)
🙌🙌
Yes! A fish in a tutorial. What area/state was this? Awesome tutorial as well!
In the words of Cameron, "Great state of Kentucky" hahaha
This is western Alaska area, Bristol Bay Area, if you listen a few minutes in, you could hear the floatplane flying over, plus look at that cold, clear water! Definitely Alaska, plus I can tell by the background and the salmon splashing in the background.😉
Eastern Oregon
Just found your channel. First I've heard of bead fishing. Interesting. I've been river fishing several times but going fly fishing, from the shore, in a lake this year. Any tips on that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Fly fishing ❤
Bead knot, why did I not think of that ?? Great idea, no more tooth picks for me :-)
Great video and straight forward info. What hoodie is that? Looks mighty comfortable.
Simms KATAFRONT HOODY
Great video Jordan does same rules apply for steelhead just tad bigger presentation with the fly rod? And how about euro nymphing beads for steelhead or dead drifting 🤙🏻 keep up the good work m8888s!!!! 🎣
Jordan, with a heavier 9 weight could you use this for summer run steelhead?
Speaks with his hands while hooked on fish
Not focusing on it at all
Me mind blown 🤯
Nice rise at 8:45
Here’s Jordan making it look so damn easy. Normal people would be all tied up in the line lol
Hey Jordan when you fly fish with beads do you use tippet or just straight mono line
I run most of my drift downstream of where I stand (60-80' avg drift but will run the whole line if the run is long enough) ,not a lift or "trout set" but upstream and low to the water, or else it'll pull out, often using the current to pull it into the corner of the jaw, rarely hook them elsewhere.I keep a 4'x4' loop of line downstream of the float so when I set it's a downstream pull. The loop downstream also lets you mend w/o affecting the drift. After the hookset keep the tip low and sweep toward the bank behind you till you come tight...30 years of doing it this way,I got it down.I've had all kinds of ppl tell me,"that won't work",till they see me do it.
Great tutorial again, I've learned a lot from your channel. I never tried fly fishing, but can you use the bead technique using a light line with a casting/spinning rod?
John Henry Lacson Yep you can fish it the same way with a spinning rod.
@@AddictedFishing thanks! Will try it next time I go fishing 🙂
A down - sized version of a steelhead bead rig would be the cockford ollie
You think its best to put trout on the reel over using hands to fight them? I usually use hands to bring them in?
We fish this way for trout , so much fun . But can’t in the fly fishing only section of the river
I been fly fishing for 5 years have not caught alot of fish but im so hooked i dont even want my spinning rod lol Thanks again mabe i get some fish!
Great video! However, you jumped right over how far from the split shot is the egg, and how big of shot obviously. Also is bead size you use there for trout eggs, looks to me those are salmon so eggs are much larger? I want to fish where trout are spawning so I would assume that eggs are much smaller.
How long should you have from indicator to bead? Then from Bead to hook?
Do i have to use a float? Is it possible do with out...
So how does that work as far as the ook beiing behind the bead? Does the bead slide down to the hook on a take or? I'm cornfused.
Great tips. Never fished beads on my fly rod. I think I’m turning to the dark side😈. I may be fishing dirty soon. Before ya know it sent could make its way onto the line to....oh no the force is strong...
Very informative. Wouldn't it better to work your way upstream? That way you're not casting right in front of the fish viewpoint.
Fish are facing upriver so it’s best to fish and work your way upriver. That way you come up behind them and you have a better chance of not spooking them. Usually you’ll only want to work your way downriver if you are swinging/skating flies. Just some helpful tips. 😊
Nice video. I take it the spawning salmon aren't interested in taking the beads?
Andrew Smart Exactly, they steer clear.
What are all those red fish that are jumping in the river at the start of the video?
👍
how do you do this without an indicator? How do you know when you have a bite and to set the hook without an indicator?
Great video as always! I love the looks of bead fishing BUT after looking into it, my WONDERFUL state of Pennsylvania considers this style of bread fishing to be SNAGGING and is a punishable offense 🙄
Andy Miller 🤔🙄
Come on PA? That’s not snagging.
Yup! Unless it's on the hook and the hook itself is being struck they consider it snagged. Though it looks like alot of fun!
Where do i get that combo?
yo a fish hit behind you at 56 seconds right on the surface. Nice
Glen, that’s salmon splashing, these native rainbows are feeding solely on salmon eggs.
This how I fly fish for steelhead in oregon I also bobber dog beads with fly rod and big indicator
If interested look up dropshot nymphing buy Kelly gallope I just modified to a single bead
