  • Feeling more solid about the motor on this bike, now it just needs everything else attached to it!
Have you ever had a Tomos crank with a misaligned woodruff key slot? This is the other crank where reviewers have mentioned something similar:

I really appreciate the breakdown of the issue, the things you checked, and the fix. This will no doubt be helpful for people learning to troubleshoot their peds.

Thanks! I definitely bought it a few years ago before really knowing how to use it - it just paid for itself!

cool video! about 2 months ago i bought my first moped.,a 85 general 5-star TE with a minarelii v1, i did struggle with spark for a little (stupid tail light) and now i find myself battling the starting clutch but it's coming along nicely. your channel has been a HUGE help to me

Aaaah I have done the dance with the brake light wiring on a Safari moped with a Minarelli V1, fun times.
Glad it's coming along and that the videos have been helpful!

another great video, I'm really enjoying this series! re the bent stand, they bend really easily from starting them.on the stand, in fact all of mine scrape the stand on the road when cornering hard. If you start a Tomos on the stand frequently like I do you, centre stands are basically a consumable item. luckily they are cheap and readily available!

Thank you! And yeah I'm definitely scraping around corners, I'm thinking it is time to order a replacement!

That would be like the set up for the motobecane stock cdi system, they have a tapered shaft and the basically press on just with a light touch of a hammer. Thanks for the video and ride safe. She actually sound awesome.

Yes! Many french bikes are timed this way indeed.
Thank you I think it is too!

Hey Travis, really enjoying your vids. I'm trying to do some maintenance on my own A35 and i drained it from oil. I'm thinking to put the oil pump back on. Now would it be ok to premix just with the gas thats already in the tank? It has full tank. Or would i need to drain it? :)

Thanks! Yeah the aftermarket crank threw me a bit of a curveball here but we'll get it. Subscribed for the vintage honda mc and vw bus content, love that stuff!

Thanks! And nice a Gen 1 - I love my KLR, single cylinder single carb, bare bones analogue gauges, it is like a big moped!

In some ways I have to agree. I grew up riding in the 70s and 80s. My first "noped" was a Yamahopper, but my dirtbikes were large and simple like the KLR. I have wanted one since they 1st came out. Biggest difference is my old dirtbikes barely had much more than a suggestion of brakes. The KLR stops much better than they did.

A stock tomos with a biturbo! It must go 65 mph, or is that only in New Jersey? ;-)
    Great video as always Travis!

Those are real flames on the frame. From doing 65!

    • @TravisTutorial
      @TravisTutorial  2 роки тому +1

The paint used on this one wasn't resistant to gas and so it only has flames on the one side now !

We got so very few Vogue imports into the states (I think a few tickled in from Canada but as far as I know it was never sold here). I haven't actually seen one in person! Those are a modern-ish moped I'm surprised there isn't an in-line voltage regulator. I don't want to give out the wrong advice, but if there isn't any sort of existing regulator adding one like the Trail Tech dial a brightness can't hurt:

If you want to ride mopeds, you gotta buy tools, and learn how to use them. Two-speeds blow. Belts, over wet clutches.
