I feel like I'm fighting a human spider when against a good lasso guard player, it can be so frustrating. Thank you for sharing this strategy, I'll keep an eye out for your video for sure!!!

I found a Marcos Tinoco lasso escape from this very channel in Oct 2020 and it's nearly identical. I'll be using this escape since it's used by 2 top level players.

It's just that the art has continued to evolve and improve. In the 10+ years I've been doing BJJ, I've seen so much change in the ways of techniques. Many old school techniques and methods have been analyzed and dissected to come up with better defenses, better attacks, etc. What was good BJJ for basic self defense years ago, had to evolve or be tossed out to keep up with today's competition levels. It's still good against someone who doesn't really know anything, but it doesn't hold up to other modern BJJ practitioners.

Great pass! Very technical. Addressed many major problems when facing a good lasso guard .

What I love about Andrew is every technique he uses and teaches is legit. Meaning it’s not only conceptual it is so clearly battle tested. He know how hard it is to execute the white and blue belt level counters successfully. -“Circle your hands” that is an example of conceptual technique. He is presenting effective technique against strong opposition. Nothing is guaranteed but his approach of creating dilemmas that are physically achievable is what we all should be looking for!
