    @3:27 Thank you for pointing that out! I have been harping on that for *years*. "Fast" does *NOT* automatically mean "technical!!!!" You can very easily be fast and WRONG. I get miffed every time I hear somebody say "yeah man he's so fast and technical" when I just watched the guy roll three rounds and he was fast and NOT technical. Just as you can over-rely on size, weight or strength, you can ALSO overly rely on speed. Again, fast does not somehow magically mean "technical." LOL rant concluded.

    • @Knight10p
      @Knight10p 3 роки тому +3

      I'm by no means an expert but this is what I took away from the video. The passer is forcing his game with a lot of speed and pressure which means that the guard player can never settle and get their own game going, the constant movement means that the guard player will have to constantly aim to recover guard and the top player uses these movements (particularly over commitments from the guard player) to improve their position. Hope this helps. (Reading back on it, it still doesn't explain it very well but I tried by best haha)

    I have an important question about drilling that I hope someone can answer: Kit Dale says not to drill and Andrew says drill like crazy. Is there some middle ground or is there a definite answer? I've been wondering this for years.

    • @mrjiujitsu
      @mrjiujitsu 3 роки тому +1

      Kit Dale is not serious about not drilling. Yes you should drill like fucking crazy! Avg person takes somewhere between 500-50000 reps before it becomes instinct, meaning you don't have to think your body just does it. You should analyze every drill every time, that will help keep you from doing it wrong to doing it right back to doing it wrong, then apply what drilled to rolling.

    • @CoachKyleZ
      @CoachKyleZ 3 роки тому +1

      @@mrjiujitsu thank you for the clarification! I like drilling. I wanted to make sure it wasn't a waste of time. I guess applying in sparring counts as drilling too. Well! On to 50000!

    • @HyperintelligentViralSpider
      @HyperintelligentViralSpider 3 роки тому +1

      @@mrjiujitsu 500 to 50000 is not an average of anything lmao

    • @mrjiujitsu
      @mrjiujitsu 3 роки тому

      @@HyperintelligentViralSpider Thats the number of times the average person has to do something repeatedly until it becomes instinct, or muscle memory, where you dont have to think about it to hard to do it. Its not a precise number and varys from person to person, one person might be able to drill an armbar 1000 times before he can do it naturally without to much thought, another might have to do it 10000 or 500 or even 100. But someone who drills something 50,000 times isnt average.
