Bizarre how certain Limp Bizkit songs, if you cut out the vocals, are revealed to be pretty excellent, and in this case, melodically innovative, tunes. The use of delay to have the guitar become a syncopated aspect of the melody while the bass weaves in and out makes the song sound like "Rated R"-era Queens of the Stone Age. Anyone have any other recommendations for LB songs that are secretly great when you take out the ridiculous vocals?
***** Thanks guys! (I tried to reply to both of you simultaneously, but YT doesn't seem to let you, so this is just showing as a reply to you, Brief). I found the instrumental of "Rearranged" pretty neat, great bassline. I dunno if I 'count' Behind Blue Eyes as much, only because that's a Who cover, so it's not really "their" instrumental. Also I realized in my original comment I meant to say that some of their instrumentals sound like Rated R-era QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE...saying Limp Bizkit instrumentals sound like Limp Bizkit makes no sense lol
There is no delay to have the guitar become a "SYNCOPATED ASPECT" of the melody. Fucking idiot. Bass "weaves in and out" the bass is prominent throughout the whole track. Again, you fucking idiot you know nothing about music.
TheYeezyEffect Jeeze, tone it down. What they're saying about syncopation/delay makes sense and for (if it is indeed) a layperson that's a plenty apt description of what happens: one of the guitar parts begins simply with chords on beats 1 and 3, and then when things get more complicated, that guitar part starts on beat 2, which sort of "delays" the gratification as you are expecting the melody to come back on beat 1. That same effect is a syncopated element with the other guitar part. And the bass weaving in and out is in the ear of the beholder. It's just a way of saying that in that person's listening of the song, the bass is more highlighted here or there. So trashing that comment and saying they know nothing about music to me just makes you looks like an ass and definitely an idiot.
Joey Trimboli Thanks duder. I am in fact a musician, but I realize in my enthusiasm I probably used some terms in an imprecise fashion. I guess I was trying to write about it the way a review might. If I was going to be 'technically accurate' about the bassline, I guess I'd say "it does variations on octaves" or somethings, but that's not very interesting, is it? I wanted to describe that rubber-band type way it kind of darts around.
If there was more than just a handful of readers there would be more comments on videos like this one... Thankfully it's not gone viral (well not in the traditional sense)

They have the most underrated rhythm section in all of music.
wow. those synths in the choruses makes this song sound like Faith No More.
Well, Faith No More was one of the main influences to Nü-Metal.
lol, but the synths are not in the original version with vocals. i'm surprised about this version lol. but yeah, LB credited FNM for paving the way.
Do you say the synths on the chorus? Yes they are present on the original version. If I'm wrong just ignore this lol
Eduardo Cavalcante yeah they're there. It's just not as noticable with the vocals but you can def still here em with the guitar in the og.
The sound of the end of the Attitude Era....epic
What a way to end the Attitude Era with one of the greatest WrestleMania matches
intergalactic feel!
This is awesome
1:05 vaguely reminds me of Halo 2's soundtrack, lol
Branson Lewis actually yes

Rocky Rocky Rocky Rocky !
This band is so damn great without the vocals.
Some good ones with the lyrics too.
Seriously. Imagine what this band could have been if they had a proper singer and lyricist.
The Halo music when Cortana mentions something about the Covenant battle net
you know...i'm gonna write my own version of the vocals to this. record it for fun. may post it.

"could be the why" doesn't make any sense
mt2oo8 it means "could be the reason" - still gay lyrics tho
UnrealEntSupporter Haha. Gay has turned out to be the biggest insult of all time in 2015
UnrealEntSupporter i said the lyrics are gay, not "I don't like homosexuals"
