As i say, most of the people complaining ain't the ones playing.
It is, but once you listen or see enough of it, you start wondering just how ignorant or stupid some people are. Once you hit that barrier, it's no longer fun to pay attention to it.
@@okairo but then you just accept people are stupid or intentionally doing awful shet for attention and you can find it funny again. at least I did after seeing something similar over the last 14 years.
If anything, it did show people how far people seeking to hate will go to distort reality, and they would sound very convincing the entire way too if it wasn’t for you just so happening to have knowledge of the subject.
Now, think about every topic that people seem to want to hate so much that they build their entire interaction portfolio based on it. And that the exact same thing is happening but in an even bigger echo chamber.
It does happen for positive subjects (people twisting reality because they want the thing to be better than it is), but almost all of it is based around galvanized hatred. And in no small part because plenty of major entities like media conglomerates, states, and lobbies have a vested interest in curating and amplifying these.
To top it off, the price of that game on steam is HALF what AAA games sells for.

I played this game entirely, 100% for the sheer dumb meme I thought it was...and have sunk dozens of hours into it because it's just a really damn good game. And also a hilarious meme.
To add on to the vtuber comment Rimmy made, a bunch of the Hololive talents have been playing Palworld. For people unaware, Hololive is one of the big vtuber agencies. One of the talents who has played Palworld is Tsunomaki Watame, who many of you will probably remember from Maxor's videos.

@@brigidtheirish Yes, the Vtuber industry is set up very similarly to japan's Idol industry, where all the big "talents" belong to management agencies. Hololive is probably the biggest one, with names like Mori Calliope, Gawr Gura, Houshou Marine, Inugami Korone, and tons more. Then there's Nijisanji, Phase Connect, VSHOJO, and tons of much smaller ones. Indie vtubers do exist, but most of them range from effectively unknown to relatively small-time compared to the vtubers backed by the corporate agencies with actual money. That said, there are a few independent vtubers that have managed to amass pretty large followings and make pretty good money, but they are the exception rather than the rule.

@@brigidtheirish The channels might be mostly let's play, but they also produce original music and do collaborations with other companies. For Hololive, there are three main branches right now: HoloJP for the Japanese talents, HoloEN for the English-speaking world, and HoloID for Indonesia where they have been an absolute hit with the locals. Look up some of their original music, I guarantee you a good time.
This game is a massive sensation, it hit the market and it was EXACTLY what the market wanted.
Apparently, Nintendo did try to sue the devs of Palworld after the first trailer dropped and Nintendo lost because they couldn't prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was IP and Copyright infringement.

For the whole idea that Nintendo will do something. I continue to find it hilarious, especially when people are protecting a billion $ company, and that people don't know how the law... or Nintendo's litigation team works. It's doubtful at this point for the following reasons:
1: Palworld had an E3 trailer a couple years ago. Nintendo was pre-warned essentially. If they would do anything, it would be exactly at this moment. They'd have sent the developers a Cease and Desist... or a court date. They did not.
In fact, in my personal opinion; the Palworld devs, if we take their words in the Interview they did with JPTV. I think they tried to see if they can get the game on the Switch, but Nintendo likely demanded a lot of requirements from them that, out of the interviewee's words. "They'd be able to have more creativity and innovation." by not being on a Nintendo system.
And if my speculation is correct, Nintendo's knows. Nintendo don't care... to a point. I imagine seeing the game skyrocket off, they're probably like "Damn, we could have done this." So they probably care, at least in that regard.
2: The game has been released. Nintendo Lawyers do not sleep or eat. They live off of the harm they do. They jump on fan projects 'minutes' after their creation and/or the release of that fan game or fan project. No matter the time of day.
3: Palworlds isn't breaking any form of copyright. Yes, some of the Pals are similar to Pokemon, but... that's all. Nintendo can only really sue them if the Pal is a 1-to-1 replica of a Pokemon. Even the slightest change in the model, and the creature's name... removes it from Nintendo's and Game Freak's grimey little mitts of Copyright.
A lot of people have even checked the models of the Pals, none of them are exact replica's of a Pokemon in the "model" area. They're similar in size and such, but have a lot of small changes that disqualifies them from being sat on by Copyright.
It seems that 80% of people don't know the law because you cannot own the copyright of a game genre or an art style. These two things are way, way too vague to be under Copyright.
To add - Pokemon ripped off Dragons Quest monsters with many of the original Pokemon. Nearly identical, way more-so than Palworld has done. Yet there weren't any lawsuits then.

I mean humans in this game while hard to catch do come with the gear they have and have unlimited ammo plus you can teach them pal moves with fruits

glad to see people love this game so much i was a fan of Pokémon since the early 2000's and yes ever game for the last however many they released the past 10 years are crap or just updated version of old games and every time they take away features and make the Pokémon do less like you know interact with literally anything or even give them personalities. so, I'm so happy when this came out what sold me was the fox spark cooking on the fire and just the personalities of all the pals i was like man can't wait to see what other details or interactions are in this and yup love it have played like 30 hrs. so far and i think infinitely better then Pokémon because it actually utilizes pals as actual livening breathing things with personality's and movement, interactions they all interact and do stuff differently not just oh look you can feed them curry and all have the same reaction and spray a 2d hose on them then brush a 2d brush on them oh look it kicked a ball like the other 30 kick the ball and the drama around the game can be summed up as don't care, who tf asked , stop crying it's a fun game bite me.
from what i understand of japanese law, if nintendo tried to accuse/sue palworld devs over IP theft could the PW devs not sue for defamation?
I think Nintendo has released an official statement telling people to stop reporting the game to them.
Depends if the Palworld's developer and the development team is in Japan. If it's not, 9 times out of 10 it's the country where the accused is living, not the accuser... cause the accused isn't in Japan, so they aren't required to follow Japanese Law in another country.
Some countries don't even have a copyright law, so Nintendo is screwed if the dev team is in one of those.

@@cobraglatiator If Nintendo was, we'd definitely hear about it from either the devs of Palworld or Nintendo themselves... or from a worker in Nintendo who couldn't keep quiet.
Worst, Nintendo might be talking to them behind the scenes going "Hey, your Pals are getting a bit too close to our Pokemon. Change them up a bit or we release the lawyers."
Though that seems too nice for Nintendo :/

Its actually pretty fun and you can mod it in single player to adjust it to your liking even further beyond the custom difficulty.
I just see this as a proof of concept. I would love to see a more polished version of this with the same gameplay loop.

Love this game. Play it when I can especially on weekend. It's just a good chill game to play.
Also Nintendo cannot shut it down. They don't have any legal claim. It is a whole different interpretation, the designs are different interpretations of vague concepts that you cannot lay siege on, and there is no Trade Mark being violated. No matter what Nintendo tries to do, it should result in them being forced to pay the dev team all legal fees and court fees that they even try to hound them over. They have no standing, as they already lost a 1 to 1 rip off of Street Fighter back in the old days that still stands as precident: because they could not claim ownership over the idea of "Martial Artists" nor claim owmer ship of the concept of "Man shoots fire Ball from palms" with a clear Hadouken rip off that was designed as a lion head over a fire ball.
This team has clear inspiration fdom their favorite pokemon for sure. But all interpretations are legal. You cannot own "Dinosaur with Flower" "Fox that shoots fire" "electeical rodent" etc. Because many of these things existed long before pokemon. And Nintendo Pokemon has plenty of "Inspired" content that blatantly ripped off other games from the era as well.
Innovate your ideas or someone else will do it for you, and you will be left behind. Pokemon Team has done nothing with their franchise since the Ranger and Mysyery Dungeon games that was unique. Their community they fostered and raised has grown to be capable of creating what thry never did with the same ideas. They have no standing.
I want to know how long this game has been in production. because this is too well made to only be a few years old.

Here’s the thing about the Palworld/Pokemon thing.
With the advertising and everything for this game, Nintendo/GameFreak would have known about it before it released.
And with as HARSH as Japanese courts are on copyright infringement stuff, if Nintendo COULD sue the guys who made Palworld, *they’d have done it ALREADY.*
So, Nintendo has to STFU and accept that this game is the Pokemon game that GameFreak WOULD have given us, if they weren’t a bunch of cowards.
Also, every multimillion dollar game company can suck a bag of moldy dicks for their big budget garbage, ‘cause this sucker was made on an operating budgeg of $10,000 by a bunch of guys who had to buckets of flash drives to work when they were making it. Absolute madlads.
Prety shure they started on 10k but buget is biger than that tough they did focus on creating game that people would like to play
