A month ago, when I replaced my Mac, I moved from Alfred to Raycast. Raycast is such a better and more useful product. Snippets are one of the countless reasons. #RaycastRocks
Some Snippets that are useful for me: !wifi (Share wifi password quickly) !iban (Bank account number at hand) !casa (My address for forms or whatsapp) Mathematical formulas that I need to remember quickly. Back to you Pedro!
I'd love to be able to place multiple cursor slots and then be able to tab thru them to fill out each portion. (Like vs code snippets) Great job with Raycast so far!
Because Raycast Snippets work globally on any app that supports text input, I’m afraid that’s not possible at the moment 😕 Once they’ve expanded, it has crossed the boundary outside of Raycast. However, you can use named Arguments in Snippets and tab through them before expanding! Works almost exactly as you described.
THANK YOU. as a non coder, i wish raycast would do some basic tutorials or have some pages walking through some simple usecases others may want@@raycastapp
I’m moving from ALFRED to RAYCAST. I’m liking what I’m seeing until now. But I would like to know how to move a file that I selected in finder to another folder. Thanks
Hi Pedro, thanks for sharing your use-cases for snippets. I would love to use them myself. However the keywords are not working as expected. When I type the correct keyword, the text will not be replaced. Is there anything I'am missing?
Great Video! I have a question about accessing clipboard history within Raycast. Is there any way that I can access and paste clipboard history within Raycast like any field where I can type? Thanks in advance🤠
One benefit of snippets is that they work in Chrome where macOS native text replacements don't work. On the other hand they work only on your Mac (vs. text replacements that sync to your phone/iPad). So choose your poison :)
Imagine the power if it would be possible to emulate keystrokes in the snippets. For example, to fill a Spreadsheet and use 'Tab' or 'Enter' via snippets. PLEASE, MAKE IT POSSIBLE 🙏🏼
We're shipping a new release tomorrow that hopefully should address that. If the issue still persists, could you please send us feedback using "Send Feedback" command?
The snippets that I use the most: (forms) !fullname (My full name) !postal (My postal code) !corp (Corporate email) !cc (My ID) Back to you Pedro 😊 and I would like to try this 2:50
You guys have no idea how useful your videos are, please don't stop. And if you already knew, well, glad to validate :)
Glad you like them!
I wish more apps had videos as good as the ones from Raycast. It's always a joy to watch!
Using snippets for git cli incantations that you can't remember is so relatable

This is so creative (and powerful!) I'm getting my first Macbook soon and can't wait to try out Raycast.
What email client do you use at 2:16?
I use them to access folders, websites and some text. Love it!

What is the app you are using at 00:15?
I'm curious, too 👀

@@raycastapp ah, that makes sense! Thanks for the reply
2:42 how did you do the multiple choice situation you got there?
Like this: {argument name="Email address" options="one@email.com, two@email.com"}
@@raycastapp Do you have more tips like this one? Thanks!
This feels like wizardry

3:47 can you also make quicklinks use the "reuse arguments" thing? sometimes in urls, you need to enter it twice and that'd be helpful to have

What email client is that?
I have the same question?

bro just rejected a 1 billion dollars job offer 💀 💀 😂

Big fan here !
I keep trying to use snippets but when I try execute one in apple notes it just goes pop and nothing appears.
Is there a snippet for changing the UI of raycast so we don’t have those nasty harsh borders framing everything? ;)
Arguments in snippets ! YYYYYYEEEEEEEEES
Snippets are lit!
I use snippets a ton 😅 but cannot share them … 😓
Damn this is amazing.
but how did you create that multiple emails showing snippet?

You might need a dedicated tool like Keyboard Maestro for something like this.
@@thepatzer yes, I know, in fact I use BetterTouchTool but these aren't free as Raycast
2:36 Couldn't you just use -> and it converts? (ok I get the up/down arrow one, but for everything else)
you can use whatever you want, yeah 😁
What am I doing wrong when sometimes instead of the snippet Raycast just pastes my clipboard?
We're shipping a new release tomorrow that hopefully should address that. If the issue still persists, could you please send us feedback using "Send Feedback" command?
Can snippets have multiple different placeholders?
Yeah! You can combine multiple placeholders if you need to :)
Is it possible to see a lit of all your snippets?
You mean the "Search Snippets" command?
Thx, Which mail app ur using? 😮
That was Front!
What's that e-mail app at 0:14?
Can anyone explain to me how to get a dropdown option for email snippets (2:53 in the video above)
You can add that snippet from here → ray.so/aV2e4mR
Thank you so much@@raycastapp
Nice. Just props (aka keywords) ha
