Great video! Thank you for posting. The stone chisel kit that you mentioned in your video is very affordable and I will be purchasing the the same kit. Thank you again.

Hi! I'm a beginner and I'm considering buying these chisels. Since I live in a granite-rich country, would these be suitable for working with granite or other hard stones? Also, if I need to pick just one size of hammer (preferably an affordable one) and a tool for sharpening the chisels, what would you recommend?

I've got to say of all the tools or anything throughout history, stone carving tools, be they modern steel or oddly shaped rocks are the coolest and most important tools ever used. Since the dawn of time, mankind has been leaving their records, their experiences, the history of all time in rock. All our electronic and paper records will be wiped out at some point in the future, the only records thta will survive should any advanced civilizations visit Earth after we are gone, will be those set in stone. While all modern writing will be gone, the ancient glyphs and writings will survive. Kinda ironic isn't it.

Fairly cheap and already shaped well enough. Even if the steel isn’t a good quality and doesn’t stand the test of time, doesn’t matter. I’m ordering the smallest set of three, to repurpose as diy wood turning tools. I’ll be making a removable handle that fits all of these, so I can swap it out between them, and so it’s easier to sharpen them. Plus I might give stone carving a go, dip in the hobby. (That’s the plan anyway) tysm

How would these chisels perform on granite? Strictly tools for soft stone?

I haven’t honestly tried them on a hard stone like granite. The hardest I’ve used is York stone, and they performed very well.

Hi. Thanks for the video on chisels. Could you give a little more info on those, like who makes them, what kind of tip they have, etc.? I’m in the States, so I can’t see the same prices, so it’s hard to know what set you were testing. Thanks, Mark

To be honest, I could give you a busted nail and you would do a grand job with it.
