This is how should everybody makes a car review about seating features on vans/suvs. Very informative, specific, lots of information. The best type of review i’ve seen so far.
I purchased a 2015 last year the ex...i had purchased a new Sedona in 2004..( it is still going strong). Love the Kia. Love the Sedona.. Would recommend the Kia and especially the Sedona to anyone... Oh yeah..i am 75 and i wanted the comfort of all the features of the ex..heated from and middle seats, ease of moving seats around..drivability.. Wished I could have found one with a tow pkg..and front and side cameras..but that is about all I don't have... I watched your videos on the 2015 and others when i made my decision as to what year I could afford. Thank you..
"Now it's a nine seater 8 legal and one illegally" 😂🤣😂🤣 golden dude we need more people to show cars like this like you do I enjoyed ever bit of it cause of you
Great review! This is how ALL reviews should be done. Very personable, some humor, and very realistic. Kia has been doing great lately, and my last two vehicles have been Kia.
I would buy snow in the wintertime from him. Can't wait to trade in my Nissan Armada for a Kia Sedona. I have 2 boys that would love this vehicle. I'd pick this over the Sorento and the Telluride.
Great video about the interior! This was the only video on UA-cam that perfectly showcased how to fold the rear seats completely and gave a reference to how much space there was in the back. We are thinking of renting this for a music festival, and we needed to know if we could sleep in the back of the van. This video showed we can. Thanks again!
I'm sure glad I decided to watch this after all! I've been deciding between different minivans and the sounds like a good combination of different features.thank you, too for being cognizant of the challenges trying to film the interior of a vehicle. You did an excellent job of it!
This video was absolutely perfect. Loved the comparison to toddler weight of the middle row seat, and the hide and seek trunk trick. This van is perfect for our family!
Kia is very confident on their vehicles and the warranty confirms that. They just need more and more people to get to know their products. It will be a good idea to do an All Wheel Drive minivan and be the only choice for so many families here in Canada that MUST have AWD because of the winter here. Yes, it will be more expensive but here in Canada, price it's not a decisive factor.
Luckily this review still applies to the 2020 Kia Sedona. What I like on all Sedona models is that the side mirrors roll down when you backup and roll up when you park, the slide doors have huge windows that can open with a push of a button and it has one of the most comfortable back seats with lots of headroom. I'm literally saving for a down payment to see how soon I can buy one of these. Great review, thank you.
Yes! a lot of people don't know about the mirrors tilting down when you put the vehicle in reverse. On several of our vehicles, if you leave the side mirror adjuster to the left or right (not centred-out) the mirrors will tilt down when the vehicle is put in reverse.
I own an Odyssey but you can bet that I will be getting a Sedona for my next minivan purchase. There is so much value for the money with this brand. Thanks for the demo.
Thank you for your time on how works the seats I just got a sedona and was frustrated because didn't know how work the seats, now I know how thanks to your video
I have been watching hours of videos trying to find one that shows how the seats move to make cargo space. So many men are REALLY facinated by the taillights... I could care less as long as they work. Why do they all skim past the cargo area- that is one of the main reason for purchasing a minivan! Anyway, just wanted to say thank you and good job.
I have a 2018 Sedona LX with convenience package. Don't have the power front passenger seat or the power tailgate, but the cargo configurations are awesome. I've fit large furniture and 12' boards in mine without issue. For the Captain's chairs in the middle, I wish they were like the old Sedonas (2014-ish) where you could fold them up and strap them to the front seats and even take them out, but these are the next best thing.
We're based in Canada, so it's possible that our trims are different than yours. I'm glad that you love your Sedona! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks Peter. I've watched many of your videos and this is one of the best. Totally shows the versitility of the Sedona. I never knew it had such clever cargo storage solutions just like the Dodge Caravan or Chrysler Voyager. This is one cameleon of a van.
Thanks for your comments, and thanks for watching. The Sedona is a great vehicle, and I think it's underrepresented online. Whenever we're unsure of which video to do next, we think about the Sedona.
I was told it WILL hold a 4x8 plywood (I know he measured in a comment below, too) and I actually will use my van for that. If it doesn't lay flat, that means I can still haul the plywood, I just have to trim it to fit flat after I get it home, that's no big deal.
I have a Grand Caravan. With the 2nd & 3rd rows folded flat, I've had the flexibility to carry 7 pass, or 4x8 ft plywood sheets, 7 ft bookshelves or even a 8 ft lg sofa. Caravans also come with AWD. No other minivan can beat that!
I know we want a van but we weren't sure what one, but after seeing this video we have made up our minds. thank you for this video it answered almost all our questions and had many nice surprises. we love it. we will be getting one.
Awesome! Thanks for letting me know that this was helpful! If you're anywhere in Ontario, I hope you'll consider giving us a chance to sell you this van!
This is an awesome video! Thanks so much! You truly understand your audience (often women who are sick of having to muscle car seats/seats in cars because we do not have the upper body strength of a 180lb man)! I am looking for a minivan. (My 2003 Grand Caravan, that I loved, just died.) Anyway, I looked all night to try to understand the seat system (we do occasionally move stuff like a fridge) and didn't find one until this one. I am thoroughly impressed with both the minivan and this AMAZING presentation. Thanks beyond words. Customer who lives 1 hour from the closest car dealership, so videos are so helpful!
Thanks for watching! I always try to do my best to put myself into the shoes of someone buying the vehicle, so I appreciate your feedback. I hope your van search goes well. All the best!
With my dodge, haul 4x8 plywood all the time, I don't want the expense of a full size pick up truck or recruiting a friend for material transport. Very important to know personally.
Looking at the video, never would have considered a kia van, we own a Town n country presently, so tired of replacing brakes, new brakes every year and half, will definitely be looking at these vans, lots of awesome features
Great review. Love the rumor. Definitely made me consider this over caravan. Please share the prices of the model/trim in future reviews. Overall amazing job!
Thks for laying down. Some of us want a van for camping. It will be tight for storage and getting out door once a mattress pad is in there since 2nd row non removable. I think that has hurt Sedona sales over the competition.
The Sedona does very well for us, no vehicle is perfect for every buyer. Every one makes trade offs to appeal to different types of people. Our Sedona customers appreciate the value, the features, the warranty, the real world fuel econony, the way the vehicle drives compared to it's competitors. There are lots of reasons to buy this vehicle, it just comes down to what is most important for you.
Yep, having second row seats removable or storable would be a very worthwhile addition for many many potential buyers. One of the biggest flaws, from my perspective.
Yes if only the 2nd row seats were stowable into the floor. It's the only thing that's in the way of me getting the sedona instead of the chrysler or dodge.
Great video...we love our 2018 Sedona EX.....tipping point for my wife and I was much better front legroom than Honda Odyssey. Plus my wife likes the ride and the dashboard layout much better than the one in the Honda.
This video is awesome. Enough information to bring you to the show room to view the car for real. I have bought a Kia Carnival (Another name for Sedona) in South East Asia. Highly recommend this car.
I have a 2020 Sedona EX. USA version. I don’t think it has the tail gate feature but I will check. Unfortunately I bought it during Covid mess and didn’t get a good demonstration of it. I bought this Kia because I previously had a 2004 Sedona and it was a good vehicle. John. USA
I really do enjoy watching your videos on KIA vehicles👍! You and your crew are doing an excellent job with describing the functionality of the KIA brand👌! I hope to be a proud owner of a new KIA vehicle one day.
Great review. We've just bought one as a work vehicle - arrives in a couple of weeks - but you haven't missed out on our business as we're in New Zealand. Really appreciate the tips in your video though!
Your videos is very helpful with detailed in depth with the Kia Vehicles, this video helped my brother make his decision to buy the Sedona. Unfortunately we are based in New Zealand, we would have definately brought off you if you were in NZ
Stow and Go allows me to stop at Home Depot. Grab some drywall and 2x4's and frame out and drywall a new room in my basement. No need to rent anything. No need to buy another vehicle. Stick it Kia! The Caravan seats are comfortable and we like the bucket seats with armrests. That said this is a great review and I wish more vehicles were reviewed this way.
Thanks for your kind words. On average I'd argue that the Kia's middle row seats are more comfortable than the Caravan's middle row, but I'm glad you're happy with your vehicle. How big is your basement? Now that you're done renovating you won't need those Stow-N-Go's anymore, right? There can't be too much more room for renovated rooms down there. ;)
There's always family and friends. I can build a deck if I want and have more room for landfill trips. Versatility is more important than comfort in the back seats. I'd argue that I rarely have a need for 7 adults to sit in the van. With everything in the floor I basically have a truck. Can haul furniture. Moving van. Etc. Way more important than one person being slightly more comfortable on a car ride somewhere
@@troymiller319 Yeah, I think we agree. There are minivan buyers that look at their vehicles as true utility vehicles, and there are buyers who carry passengers as their number 1 priority. If you carry cargo as much as you say, those stow'n'go seats make sense.
Very nice. Too bad it can only fit a 6' person in the back laying down. I'm 6'4 and I would totally camp in the back of this if I could fit. Which minivan or SUV do you guys think would have the most linear space behind the driver seat?
I really can't understand why the UK car market stopped importing the new Sedona/Carnival. I drive a 2008 Sedona and I love it! We have nothing like this MPV at all now. The Sportage is nice but nowhere near as roomy. The only bugbear I have with my old Sedona is that the driver's seat doesn't go back far enough if you have a bigger belly!
@@BrantfordKia Well now I'll think about staying in the US. We just got rid of a covid bafoon .. haha but thank you for the Canadian invite. BTW great place which I've visited.
Awesome video, thanks for listening to me when I made the suggestion of making the video. I picked up my SX model this past Monday and I love it. Everything you mentioned in this video is so true. Kia thought of everything in their design process. Family and friends love it as well. Keep those videos coming as the6bare much easier to understand then reading a Manuel. Thanks again.
I just found this video . So informative! . As a military family, we travel cross country to move. Can the 2nd row be moved back to fit 2 big kids and a large (110 pounds ) dog ? . While making the most of the trunk space . We got a lot of traveling ahead and honestly that's our deciding factor for going back to a van . Thank you
It's tough for me to tell if the seats move enough for what you need, but if I had to suggest a vehicle for what you describe, the Sedona would be it. Thanks for watching and commenting! Tomorrow we're going to put a Kia Sedona in our Live video bay and do a live video at 2:00pm. Feel free to tune in to watch us.
Kia powered by Mitsubishi technology. The best minivan I bought. I owed a Kia Sedona Lx 2017. It has 20,000 miles and it drives really smooth and very comfortable carseats.....it has a nice center console armrest. I drove a Toyota sienna and Honda Odyssey but I my Sedona it's better!
Im looking for a new car later this year and will go check out the KIA's. I already have a minivan, the Caravan, and mostly for the seats folding into the floor. Otherwise, would have looked at this one.
Mid row Stone go seats are very important period I need to be able to have passengers occasionally but I also need to have that space clear so I can put my mobility devices in there when I'm by myself.
I am searching for a new minivan. I transport two greyhounds on the floor in the middle row, separated down the middle by a baby gate. I currently drive a Chrysler Town & Country with the infamous stow & go seating. For me, this is a fantastic feature as I very rarely transport passengers and, if I do, the seats are there. I like how, when your middle row seats are pushed forward & up, that the floor appears to be flat. This is important to me as, for example, the Honda Odyssey does not have a flat floor if I remove their seats. After all this rambling, my question actually is... can your middle row seats be physically removed and, if so, is the floor fully flat. What I can see in the video is indeed flat but there's where the seat is actually mounted and slid about on that I'm concerned about. Thank you so much!
I can tell you that the floor is flat. I've been told that the seats can be fairly easily removed, but this requires tools. I haven't done this myself. It's worth a test drive to see if you like how the Sedona compares to the competitors, and then you can see for yourself how easy or difficult the seat removal would be. Hope that helps a little bit.
Well done. I just wonder why Kia doesn't have a quick release for the 2nd row seats, for those times when you just want everything out of the back. Wouldn't that have been simple to engineer?
Great job showing the space of the third row. Next time, please place 3 or 4 suitcases in the back trunk to show how much one can carry while on a road trip with 6-7 people (or in my case, renting a KIA abroad for 2 weeks with my family!)
I am use to the Odyssey which now needs replacing at 18 years. I remove the 2nd row seats when both dogs are crated to travel. Honda has ruined the way seats are mounted and made them all difficult to remove and return to their place, so I am looking for an alternative. But the Sedona does not leave any space for my dogs to get into crates with the stowed seat. I can't help them (they are older dogs) with the stowed seats in place. They are in my way.
@@BrantfordKia - thank you. I just bought a 2017 Sedona and during my test drive, never even thought about the windows. I pick it up next week so will have good go over of all the features at that time. Another question just came to mind. I don't know if there's any documentation indicating all the features of the van - do you know if there's any way to find out?
@@ruthanderson1758 Your selling dealer should be able to provide you with documentation showing the features in your van. Congratulations on your new purchase!
On this van, you would need tools. We know that in the next month or so, Kia will be introducing the replacement for this van, and it will have removable middle row seats.
thanks for laying down in it... i've been needing to know that. I wonder how much extra room is available when the center seat is removed and perhaps feet go into that cavity. at the moment it's looking like the hiace is the way to go for tall people
Brantford Kia yes - that does help. I sometimes transport longer items (like a 4x8 sheet of plywood lol) that could lay on top of folded seats in front and back. Thanks.
I had a 2016 Sedona and could set up a folding cot in the back because the middle seats were removable. In my 2019, a cot doesn't fit as the middle seats cantilever up as you describe. Bummer!
That's not what we hear from our customers... They have a nice van, no question. But pricing, reliability, features and more... we do very well with the Sedona in our market.
It's true. Mostly because of the "stow and go" feature. I only question the maintenance of a Chrysler because it's still part of Dodge. I don't hear many bad things about them like I would hear about Fords. But yeah, between a Sedona and a Pacifica, I'm willing to work my ass for those payments.
10:53 I would like to see if you can fold the other 2 seats on your right, I just want to see the maximum, how wide and flat it is. Thank you! I’m 5’5” I might turn homeless soon because of pandemic. You said, you’re 6 foot tall. You know that part of your video just perfect!!! 10:53 I just want to see the maximum the way it looks.
Haha! I'll have to make an updated version of this video. I hope all is well with you during this pandemic. I know it's been very difficult for a lot of people.
I love this dude give him a raise! so friendly and straightforward please continue with this type of salesman!

I think you might still be able to fit in the Sedona, but you'd have to try for yourself. Fitting, and fitting comfortably are two different things.
I'd gladly purchase a kia from you if you were in NJ. Excellent insight on the sedona.
I mean... I could move to New Jersey... but you could move to Canada too! I feel like we could make this work!!
@@BrantfordKia Well now I'll think about staying in the US. We just got rid of a covid bafoon .. haha but thank you for the Canadian invite. BTW great place which I've visited.
Thank you so much for that demonstration
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks again.
nova gunn how is your SX doing and how is your gas mileage?
Than you. I need a car that has cargo and family as well. Again thank you for taking the time to make this videos.
Thanks for watching! Kia is introducing an all new minivan tomorrow. Keep an eye on our channel for the latest information as it becomes available.
@@BrantfordKia can't wait to see the new wheels.
VERY helpful! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this.
You're very welcome!
Awesome stuff. Thanks from Australia!
Thanks for watching!
Great Vid! Thanks for shooting a quality video and letting me know I can hide a body in the trunk! Much appreciated ;)
You have to admit, not every dealer gives you that level of information!!
Mid row Stone go seats are very important period I need to be able to have passengers occasionally but I also need to have that space clear so I can put my mobility devices in there when I'm by myself.
It's great van. I'm just waiting for the all wheel drive to be an option. Just fwd have its limiting factors.
Same. Driving a family car with only two wheel drive is risky here in Canada.
In Siberia, it is also a dubious pleasure
Maybe? I'm not an engineer.... at all... :)
That was a great video. Thanks so much for your work. I just hope that I can afford a Kia Sedona someday!
Thanks for watching!!
Great job showing the space of the third row. Next time, please place 3 or 4 suitcases in the back trunk to show how much one can carry while on a road trip with 6-7 people (or in my case, renting a KIA abroad for 2 weeks with my family!)
But then, I'd have to go buy 3 or 4 suitcases! ;)
Can all the seats behind front seats be removed from the van just as easily as storing them?
The outboard middle row seats need tools to remove. The rear seats fold into the floor, so I don't think most people would want to remove them.
Do the windows in the sliding door open? I just bought a 2017 Sedona and forgot to ask.
Yes, the windows in the doors do open down into the door.
Finally found the kind of minivan I'm looking for🥰
Finally found the kind of customer that we're looking for! :)
Great Video. Can the middle row seats be completely removed? If so, could you please let me know how that can be done.
On this van, you would need tools. We know that in the next month or so, Kia will be introducing the replacement for this van, and it will have removable middle row seats.
Great video. I am looking for a new vehicle that will accommodate my Newfoundland dog. THIS is the winner !
Oh yeah! This would be perfect!
I have two Newfoundlands and am also looking for a car that they can step into with loads of room. Did you end up deciding on the Kia?
Thanks for video! I'll keep it on short list to buy. Nice Job
I wish they made this in an AWD version. Do you know what the ground clearence is?
Can you completely remove the second row seating.....and what is the total area when all seats are down. Great video by the way.
In this model you can't, but the Sedona has been replaced this year with the Kia Carnival, and in that model you can.
Excellent informative and interesting video.
Thanks for watching!
Wow i like this van perfect fits for us
Outstanding video. Only gripe we have with the Sedona is that it only has 3 latch connectors for car seats. Why not 4? So strange
Thanks for watching! And, yes, that surprised me as well.
good video really shows cargo ability
Thanks for watching!
That was clear and precise. Great job!
Thanks for watching!
thanks for laying down in it... i've been needing to know that. I wonder how much extra room is available when the center seat is removed and perhaps feet go into that cavity. at the moment it's looking like the hiace is the way to go for tall people
I think I'm going to lay down in more vehicles! :)
Great, enjoyable and informative video. Do the two middle seats fold down (back onto seat) like the small middle seat does?
The seat backs do fold down to the seat bottoms, but they don't tumble forward like the middle seat does. I hope that helps!
Bummer!
I suggest you watch Alex on Auotos reviews and learn on how he demonstrates seating on the third row seat!
Great 👍 video. It’s really nicer, but Chrysler Pacifica is the true king 👑.
I am interested in putting a mattress at the back and wondering what is the length when seats are fold away? 10:52 It looks like around 6 feet?
Off the top of my head, It should have much more than 6 feet of length.
Very well done! Surprisingly enjoyable and informative!
Nobody is more surprised that people enjoy watching these than me! :) Thanks for your positive feedback! Always appreciated!
Loved your video. Very informative. Now I will be looking to buy one.
Thanks for watching! I hope you'll consider us if you're local!
Would love to see how the seating would work in an SXL+ trim! :)
We don't usually stock the SXL+ trim, but when we get one in, we'll do a complete video on it.
You showed us how to get the center seat out of the 2nd row but, how about the other two in the 2nd row?
10:53 I would like to see if you can fold the other 2 seats on your right, I just want to see the maximum, how wide and flat it is. Thank you! I’m 5’5” I might turn homeless soon because of pandemic. You said, you’re 6 foot tall. You know that part of your video just perfect!!! 10:53 I just want to see the maximum the way it looks.
Haha! I'll have to make an updated version of this video. I hope all is well with you during this pandemic. I know it's been very difficult for a lot of people.
