I grew up playing Age of Mythology and Age of Empire II back in the day. Always hoped they'd do a remake or a sequel. So hyped to hop back in and play some Kronos and Gaia

I was sad when Age series was dead for sometimes, then the fans revived it but now it's in full swing, kicking it like the late 90s and early 2000s.
A truly ageless series.

i said once when the 1st trailer came out, i'd said it again, and the reason why this game is not only nostalgic or childhood to me, its because reminds me of my brother, when i was around 8, 9 and 10, i used to play this game, he was playing it as well, was my first game in my life that i can remember and was thanks to my brother, he passed when i turn 11, 15 years later, i am 27, game brings me tears to my eyes, those memories that i shared, those feelings that i had, happy ones, it once again growth, something that i never thought i would feel again :') and makes me happy i'll enjoy this game for him as if it was the first time

Dam, thats crazy and sad to hear. I was a 95' baby and my brother was 4 years older than me and introduced to me to this game and roller coaster tycoon as my first pc games(it was probably around 2002). Such good memories/times that i'll never forget.
Same for me with my father. He loved the Age of Empire games as much as I do, so as a child we often sat side by side and took turns at playing on his computer. In two months it'll be the 10th anniversary of his passing.

What an amazing time to be alive, just checked the website and they didn't ditch the campaign mode which was always my favorite part of this amazing game from my childhood, but as it looks like it, it seems they have EXPANDED upon it. And they're charging a normal price for the game as well. What an incredible developer. I cant wait to play it.
The earthquake graphics are magnificent! That alone sold me if somehow nothing else did.
Looks kinda funny honestly, but it is very similar to the original game, which is great.

TBH this trailer gutted me. I understand everyone is excited for the nostalgic game to have a modern release but the game looks and functions exactly the same. Slightly better graphics 🤷♂️.
I don’t know why I hope, but after all these years I was hoping they’d make a brand spanking new AOM game. I mean I really feel like instead of waiting I can just play Extended edition right now…

@@HawkknightXC88 techically gaia is the titan goddess of the earth/harvest and historically across cultures they were seen as mother figures and fertile. So any imagery or statue of them usually depict them as beautiful females.
Og age of mythology did too but the remake well....things changed

Finishing the original and seeing the credits roll with pictures of the actual dev team always hit me in the feels. 20 years later and I’m just blessed to be here to play this reboot or whatever it is

I was one of the original testers of the game. The only old RTS I could want more is an Update to C&C Generals
The intro fight between human units and myth units was definitely inspiring for me.. And the moment Statue of Zeus' eyes inspire human troops when they were getting owned..

My first memories of gaming was when i was 4 years old and watching my brother play this, good to see it coming back.
I've been waiting for this for so many years, I can't believe it's actually going to happen, this game made my childhood

That is chronos as far as I remember. The black giant is chronos and not Prometheus.

Age of Mythology has one of my all time favorite OSTs from video games. Can listen to it a thousand times, especially the Norse and Egyptian theme songs.
My grandfather used to spend hours upon hours playing this. I found my love for strategy games from this game. Welcome back.

@@noha7ers honestly I’ve be pretty vocal with how disappointed I am with them only updating the graphics of a same game - but having the map editor back with new shiny graphics will be fun in itself. Still in the process of creating my own Labors of Hercules scenario.

I've spent countless hours as a kid in 3rd grade playing this game in 2002, it was one of the trio that got me into strategy games (age of mythology, age of empire and ARSENAL extended power)
This certainly feels epic and brings back sweet memories, I hope new generations will enjoy it too.

Yeah, one of the announced upgrades for the gameplay is titans being able to walk through water and oceans and apparently their destructive power against buildings was increased too

@@DaDude2011 Titans will be able to walk through water, god powers will be less restrictive, and a few more changes will be done to this version. It's good to read up on these things before you sour your expectations so quickly, they never had planned to make an entirely new game, not sure where you got that from.

Have fun with your games that is always what matters and should never be restricted. The issue that individuals such as I try to raise is the reality that gaming companies milk fans of their love of IPs (Age of Mythology in this case) for all that it is worth. Bethesda did this with Skyrim, hell this has already been done even with Age of Empires. Vote with your wallets. Want the same game over and over like Madden fine I won’t interrupt you, but in kind you should also not be surprised when people like me need to keep companies true and spot their lack of devotion to fans across all these years.

For this game 20 years ago i Discover the strategy games My Best days as a child ...some years later i play the total war franchise and in this last 5-8 years i play mmo moba as tactic games like tiger knight mordhau and conqueror blade without a doubt i can say i am a strategy veteran player for Age Of Mithology thanks for the best days of my life as gamer now is time to return the love and support this great. I first played AOM when it was released when I was 26 years old, and now I'm 48.

What happened to Gaia? She is literally a piece of wood
i think they mainly did that because they wanted to steer away from her showing up in a bikini during the last campaign chapter, personally i am not a fan, i think they could've just put a robe on her and called it a day, i also kinda dislike the Loki redesign but it is pretty accurate to the myths so maybe i'll get used to it, i think besides Gaia the biggest offender here might be Zeus, it is basically the same design as from back in the day but that original pose was just so iconic for him
I think it works better than Giant Woman In Leaf Bikini honestly. She's the primordial mother goddess from before there were other gods/titans (Except Oranos? I forget who came first or if they're contemporaries), she should look alien and inhuman. Of course, this only makes sense if they also redesign the other titans, as some of their portraits were human-looking as well.
