BTW: did you know that Mercedes is now charging $5k for freight and PDI? That's ridiculous for something you'll never be able to recoup the cost on. It's like dumping $5k down the toilet. I've sent a complaint to Mercedes Canada. I have hope because my complaints to Volvo have worked (I own an XC90). Let's see ...
Great job capturing true to life audio recording on this, I have this car and most youtube videos about it make it sound a lot worse than it really does (and thus leading to the "sounds like a leaf blower" comments). But not yours, it sounds good here! I disagree about it being a small car or handling like a go-kart....not at all, it's big and heavy and you can feel it if we're being real. I used to drive a Mazda 3 and that felt much more like a go-kart despite being slower. But it's definitely exciting and I like it a lot!
Great review! Had fun listening to the sport+ noises. The 43's are hella fun for sure. Can't wait to buy one once it's depreciated enough to be in my range ($40k) lollll.
Had a 2022 GLC43 as a loaner while they replaced my E53 wagon hybrid battery (twice it was replaced in 6 months).. I liked it for the size, it was small, nimble, fun etc... but my loaner with only 20k on it was creaking and had some rattles that bugged me... It was no E class thats for sure.. I wouldnt buy one simply for this reason, rattles and squeaks bother me big time.
My buddy had a C class of that same year. Think was a creaky rattle box. I was shocked. I’ve been in Hyundais that felt more solid. Throttle House talks a lot about the “creaky wood” they use for trim.
2:08 ABSOLUTELY hilarious with the jiggle. Mike is always full of surprises. Guys please subscribe and share these videos, we need more content like this on YT
my previous car was a 2018 C43 my current car is a 2022 GLC..I like them both equally for the uniqueness it brings and this could be the compromise I need for my next car!
I haven't driven a GLA but I've owned a GLB 35 and this, and I'd say they drive similarly. It's definitely fun but I imagine the GLA handles a little better on tight corners, you can definitely feel the size of the GLC. This video is incorrect about it being a "small car" or feeling like a go-kart. It can rip in a straight line, and it handles well for its size, but it really is neither of those things.
I test drove the GLC and thought I would like it but I agree with size and the creeking. Mercedes seems to try and overshadow build quality with tech and ambient lighting. For the price, I would choose SQ5 at 10G’s less or X3M40i for 4-5 thousand less. Mercedes = 💄 on a 🐷
Can someone please explain to me why there is no rear window tinting in the GLC but there is in the GLE and up? Is there a logical reason? At least in the US this is the case.
We found out that it’s no longer certified as a “light truck” because its ride height is lower than the previous generation. So they don’t tint the rear now.
@@ACCELER8TV thank you for explaining that! I’ve always wondered. Wow, I wonder how much taller it would need to be to not be considered a “passenger car.” With all of the vehicle cameras now you’d think the visibility safety standards would be reevaluated.
Or calling it small, or a go-kart. I have this car and I like it a lot, but it's neither small, nor a go-kart, nor a sports car. Try driving behind an actual 2 seater rwd sports car on a mountain road in this car and they'll lose you in 2 turns! But it's a fun car if you want a practical hatchback/suv with ample storage space in the back and enough straight-line acceleration to make you smile on an otherwise boring drive!
The main problem with the Mercedes GLC43, C63, and all new models is their 2.0L engines. What did you do, Mercedes? WTF! No one can consider a hybrid 2.0L + electric engine in an expensive car (AMG). Changing to a 3.0L hybrid would be an improvement..
its a rattly shitbox. I would never own one. the X3 40i felt better quality. New GLE 53 will be over 500 hp.. that should be nice.. Unfortunately the difference between a C class and a E class is vast as I found out owning a E class wagon..
The 2024 GLC 43 has a lower profile than other SUVs, and rear window tinting is not required. This SUV is impressive and incredibly fun to drive. Anyone complaining about the exhaust sound clearly hasn't driven a GLC 43. I am delighted with both the sound and performance. The exhaust noises aren’t artificially channeled through speakers; Mercedes intentionally designed a misfire in the piston firing order to create the distinctive snap, crackle, and pop sound.
Love your channel. I think someone said on another video that you guys are kind of douchey, but a good kind of douchey. I have to agree. Definitely like the format, the presentation style and the editing / color pallet of the videos are amazing. Humor is on point too. Anyways, my kind of douchey. I was interested in this model since I really like the design but... Benz interiors look and feel incredibly cheap to me the last few years. I think the thing I can't get down with even more so now is they option you to death on every single thing on their cars now, especially for stuff that is standard for almost every other company. I wonder why sales continue to decline for them? 🤔
Overall, the styling of the GLC is much cleaner than the BMW X3. BMW styling has become a real mess in recent years. I like the RWD proportions of this, but am sick of the giant fake intake nostrils. There are many details I'd do differently. I dislike the lack of physical controls inside. At this price, cast aluminum switches/knobs would be lux, not more goddam laptop screens. Love the info screen sweeping up from the console, but I wish the IP was in a binnacle. Wish the vents were aluminum, not plastic. Why aren't the rear windows tinted? Wish the audio upgrade was a stand-alone option (like on X3). An AMG should show off polished aluminum bits under the hood; instead we get a cheap looking plastic cover. The switch from a V6 to this four did not really result in much better mpg. 25 mpg on a freeway cruise is not great. It's a lot of money.
For that price with little comfort and amenities for the rear passengers... a lot of proprietary parts that is eyewateringly expensive (labor cost is already high)... No thanx. I'm stick with an Audi SQ5 that is an all rounder and best bang for my money

Why is a LAUNCH THING so freaking important? It's sucha stupid gimmick. Alongside all the car trims feeling ride quality sound system clarity and speaker design and ergonomics first freakin' thing is a launch test.
Save yourself the 60 grand and get anything else. When it breaks under warranty they can’t find any issues, everything is within spec but you’ll need new tires every 15000 miles and brake pads every oil change so that makes every oil change about $1000. The truck is a PoS, avoid at all costs
GLC, Macan, X3, Q5? Which German SUV would you buy?
MACAN FOR ME AND GLC FOR WIFE
X340i, just as fun as the Macan for a reasonable price.
X3 m40i get it before the 2025 “upgrade”
I was considering the new CLE53 and I was reconsidering this thought ... until I heard the creaking in this car. Nope.

the ambient rain in the beginning was brilliant ... then going into the roar of the muffler 💯💯
A GLC AMG 53 with the inline six would be the jam.
In my opinion one of the best looking Mercedes in the "more or less affordable" category, especially as Coupe 🚗
Very good quality footage!

Fun to watch an 8 year old reviewing cars. Thankfully Ian seems to help keep things under control (and help with pronunciation).

The creaking comment just ruled out that vehicle for me. Unforgivable at that price point.
I'll take the coupe version please!!
11:35 bro for realll 🤣🤣🤣🤣 the engineers DEFINETELY forgot to put the USBC port there because they do that for all their other cars lol
When is this GLE first released?? Is this model going to be replaced soon ?
Which particular shade of colour is this ? Looking stunning ❤❤❤😘😘🥳🥳👌🏻
Pretty sure it's graphite grey metallic
❤ it!
There is a bolster control. Its in the comfort app in settings
😍😍😍
How are the windows not tinted?
The fact that you can't adjust your seat ect for that price is crazy especially compared to the competition
And also you can’t charge the kids phone in the back or plug in a DVD player 🤯

Not a Family Go KART, just Family Golf (2.0 inline-4 turbo) :D
I would rather pick an X3M than this. The interior exhaust sound from what I recall is synthetic😅
i think people need to start driving real sports cars again before reviewing a midsize suv and calling it a sports car
