- SCRAMBLE is track 34 on NEO: The World Ends with You Original Soundtrack. The lyrics and vocals are by Stephanie Topalian. It plays during the Grus Cantus boss so it can be interpreted as the theme of Tsugumi Matsunae.

This theme screams comeback time. What was once thought impossible now seems very possible.

The way the song denies you the “na na” hook in the middle after hearing the first “battlefield of love” lyric really makes it hit harder when it comes back after hearing “come to a start” the second time.

One of my favorite tracks in the game. Makes the fight even more engaging and the whole thing with Rindo and Shōka's really good.
Hearing this track makes me want to protect Shibuya lol.
I like to interpret the track as a love theme between Rindo and Shoka lol. It plays right after the final boss and it relates to the feelings of camaraderie the party feels. This theme plays almost always when Shoka is in the scene. Several of the lyrics can be interpreted as describing the relationship between Rindo and Shoka. Specifically the third stanza, “hold my hand, we’ll go this way”, “we’ve crossed paths to unite our vows”, “battlefield of love”.
Also, I can't help but think the scrambled crowds part relates to walking in the scramble crossing lol.

The fact that this is the tsugumi song blows my mind, is like shadow appeared for the first time on the new day when shinjuku disappeared, and she was displayed walking out the city, then she appears again with this lyric on the background
@@ismaelsampernavarro2429 I think he means it's a more clearer less muffled version of it since while this is technically a sequel to that song the original song was kinda hard to understand what the singer was saying.That might just be me though
I think we can interpret Shadow as being the vision version of this theme. The visions Tsugumi gives when she’s soulless are unclear and vague like how Shadow is more unclear than this theme. It makes sense too because this theme is called Shadow. It’s called Shadow because it’s a shadow of the real theme Scramble. I think of this too because I interpret the games using the Japanese versions of a theme and then the English theme later on as the developers giving the “clear” version of the theme to players as the story progresses and more things are revealed. In this game, most of the time, the Japanese versions are played first and then the English versions are played. For example, the Japanese version of Revelations plays first, then the English version plays after Rindo finds out that Motoi is a fraud, so now we understand what the theme is singing about. It might not be the reason since then that means Japanese players will get the “unclear” version as they progress through the story.
Loved this music during her boss battle. It fits so perfectly.

Why does Scramble feels like it could be Fret's theme in a fighting game(BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, for example)?

There are a few lyrics that I think are wrong.
'sometimes it could be' is clearly 'it can sometimes be'.
'rise up through it all' is 'rise above it all'
Then there are some I'm not sure are wrong, but I'll just throw them out there.
'we've crossed paths to unite our vows' is 'we've crossed paths and made our vows'
'the outsides are ready' is 'the outside world's ready'

Because they're both upbeat and hype based OSTs. Even if persona 5 was mainly blues and jazz focused, the hype factor progression gives a similar vibe.
