As amazing as Neku’s entrance was (and it really was amazing, let me tell you), can we also appreciate Beat stepping up to hold the line and push back Sho while the others escape? He’s well aware that he might not make it but he’s willing to make the sacrifice if it means the others can go on to save Shibuya. I fucking love Beat, man.
beat is right up there with rindo and fret as my fav written characters in this game man. He is the TRUE 4th wicked twister and completes their dynamic so much better for their team. He’s fiercely loyal to the kids since day 1 and is ready to crush anything in their way 😭 best boy for life

@@susieruth1558 In a part of the Game Shoka tells Neku about Gatto Nero and Mr. Miau, and he doesn't really know the brand. Then she points out that he's wearing Gatto Nero and he is just confused... Neku didn't contact Joshua before, nor he could contact Hanekoma. I think that the one that showed Neku how to access Shibuya again was the one that gave him his actual clothing (Considering that he grew up and now it doesn't fit). Later in the story, it's revealed that Coco showed Neku how to get back.
Man, Jesse David Corti voiced Neku all the way back in 2007, you can really tell how much time has passed just by hearing his voice now, it’s crazy. I’m glad he came back to voice Neku along with all the other original voice actors.
His voice in this game sound different to how he perform in the first game, as he seems to try to emulate his JP voice counterpart. Probably due the localization in this game try to stay faithful to the JP version, including Neku's characterization.
SPOILERS I think the only VA they replaced of the original cast was Rhyme, and that's only because her and Uzuki had the same VA in the original game. Since they were both voiced in this game, they couldn't easily use the same VA this time.
You know what I love about this? As soon as you see Neku and the dialogue begins - Twister. OG Twister, not the one for Neo, not the one for KH3D. OG Twister plays as the backdrop - Just all the nostalgia and perfect representation of the badassery that was Week 3 Final Day Neku Sakuraba. XD

Neku brought back by Joshua after being shot to dead by Coco, this forced him to trapped in UG making him a reaper like entity. In truth he become Composer Proxy because of Joshua but forced to wander in UG.
Wouldn't be surprised if Neku's sprite took the most drafts and redos out of the cast. More relaxed on the body language, open clothes and open hands still speaks quietly but with driven purpose unlike last game.
Beat was actually kinda more of the deuteragonist of the original TWEWY than Shiki, Joshua and Rhyme were when you think about it. Beat had screen time and presence and was part of the story of all three weeks whereas Shiki and Joshua were only really present during their own weeks and during the final battle. So yeah, in that sense it makes sense it would be Neku and Beat as returning players rather than Shiki, Joshua and Rhyme.
This game had one of the best voice acted dialogue that felt realistic in many ways I loved every interaction this story took us through this game was more than good and I'm so happy it's more lively than ever
@monadoeaterr 69 well it got a little repetitive time traveling but there was a draw back so staked were still high especially in the end where all that time traveling made an extremely powerful Noise
Luckily I avoided spoilers for this game, so seeing Neku come back after so long, and finally getting answers for the New Day chapter, was so satisfying. This game knows how to deliver a pay-off.
Fun story: the first background song, Psychedelic, has been my alarm tone since 2010, so hearing it immediately sets off my fight or flight response lol
NEO had so many great moments that really made it a fantastic sequel. Honestly worth the wait. I was screaming with joy the second I saw the flash of light. I knew who had showed up to kick ass and save the day. Neku truly is a legend.

Neku is looking fabulous with his new outfit, did Shiki personally hand stitch it? Also he’s still powerful as always, puberty did little to him besides making him taller and his voice a bit more in the baritone vocal range while making it more authoritative.
This entire game i was like “where’s joshua” and even more so when neku appeared. Like i was convinced that man wasn’t in this reality because he went to the tin pin slammer reality because he couldn’t let go that neku beat him in that game. I swear man guy is salty

You know, the second the FMV started you knew this was coming. I did, anyway. That said, and this might get me hated on, but I actually wish Neku had stayed as a NPC. Having him in the group feels.. wrong. Like he’s supposed to be a legendary player, he IS one, but when I got him everyone else had higher stats them him. Sure I grinded a fair amount, but at this point in the story Neku should have been godlike. Getting him and not having him just one-shot everything in actual combat is disappointing. Getting Beat was acceptable and a great throwback on its own, and a nice consolation prize after thinking he was going to be Neku (their hair is WAY different, I can’t believe I didn’t see that coming) Most importantly though NEO Twewy isn’t Neku’s story. It’s Rindo, Fret, Shoka, and Nagi’s. I was really wanting/hoping 6th slot would be Kanon.
Silly me got too invested in pin mutation and I saw the list of characters... I did anticipate Neku might reappear, but goshdamn that took a bit from this moment.
I avoided spoilers and didn't watch the final trailer so I was shocked but happy when Neku showed up. I was like "I'm not emotionally prepared to see Beat die!" I was expecting the worst and must have fangirled for a solid 10 minutes after that lol I just kept staring at my screen in disbelief
I was disappointed that Neku had only a minor role in Neo TWEWY honestly, considering he was the main character of the first game and I honestly liked him a lot better than Rindo. I have to give Neo credit though that giving him a more minor role and not having him show up until near the end of the game made this scene so much more awesome when he did finally show up out of nowhere.

Neku is looking fabulous with his new outfit, did Shiki personally hand stitch it? Also he’s still powerful as always, puberty did little to him besides making him taller and his voice a bit more in the baritone vocal range while making it more authoritative.

This entire game i was like “where’s joshua” and even more so when neku appeared. Like i was convinced that man wasn’t in this reality because he went to the tin pin slammer reality because he couldn’t let go that neku beat him in that game. I swear man guy is salty

You know, the second the FMV started you knew this was coming. I did, anyway.
That said, and this might get me hated on, but I actually wish Neku had stayed as a NPC. Having him in the group feels.. wrong. Like he’s supposed to be a legendary player, he IS one, but when I got him everyone else had higher stats them him. Sure I grinded a fair amount, but at this point in the story Neku should have been godlike. Getting him and not having him just one-shot everything in actual combat is disappointing. Getting Beat was acceptable and a great throwback on its own, and a nice consolation prize after thinking he was going to be Neku (their hair is WAY different, I can’t believe I didn’t see that coming)
Most importantly though NEO Twewy isn’t Neku’s story. It’s Rindo, Fret, Shoka, and Nagi’s. I was really wanting/hoping 6th slot would be Kanon.

I did anticipate Neku might reappear, but goshdamn that took a bit from this moment.

I avoided spoilers and didn't watch the final trailer so I was shocked but happy when Neku showed up. I was like "I'm not emotionally prepared to see Beat die!" I was expecting the worst and must have fangirled for a solid 10 minutes after that lol I just kept staring at my screen in disbelief

I was disappointed that Neku had only a minor role in Neo TWEWY honestly, considering he was the main character of the first game and I honestly liked him a lot better than Rindo. I have to give Neo credit though that giving him a more minor role and not having him show up until near the end of the game made this scene so much more awesome when he did finally show up out of nowhere.
