The over-the-top excess of these cars for the time is so glorious. They’re such time capsules of the era. I know of one for sale that’s derelict and needs a full resto. But it does have the all-important LED Gauges. Something even the We Are Curated car does not have. I’m trying to talk a highline buyer into it because it would fit his collection amazingly!!

Back when I was a kid, I loved the Gemballa Avalanche.
I'd like to think my taste in cars has improved since then, but I currently drive an FJ Cruiser, and have previously owned a Ford Contour SVT (weird) , a '67 Riviera lowrider (weird), and three Subaru's (one stock, two modded, all weird).
So, apparently not. :)

Nobody since the 80's created such absolutely insane, over-the-top, gaudy, customized cars like Gemballa did.

I was never impressed with Gemballa. Most of their cars were cosmetic changes only. While Ruf cars were more reengineered.
They were just RUF’s with cosmetic changes . Interior, sound, and body parts

Nice presentation, however, at minute 3:59 you apparently had something confused with currency exchange rates, as 400,000 DM (deutsch mark) would certainly not have gotten anyone $700,000 dollars in exchange.
Perhaps just a slip, 400k DM in 1985 were roughly like abt. give or take $130k Dollars

Gemballa’s were horribly ugly, typical bad eighties. A standard slant nose was far better looking. Ruf twin turbo cabriolet slant noses are number one, so insane, nobody bought one
Porsche 928 have got be worse porsche and so called supercar ever made there totally dime and boring looking .. if i had driven back day .. 928 would be last car id buy rather have vw bug modified before given some nazi my money for plain boring 928 ... ive always thought the car was shit even as little boy .
