Ric hit the nail on the head. The Lakers are overpaying AD and LeBron. They are both great players, but if you're spending 93 million on just two players, you should be winning championships and if not, those two players should not be paid in that capacity. The Lakers literally leave no money for other players and wonder why they can't put quality players around LeBron and AD. LeBron and AD are getting paid more as they get older. No way you can win consistently with that formula.

She was livid as how dare they hire an inexperienced head coach and pass up all those that deserve and work hard for the position, who earned it, especially those minority candidates. Well, funny thing happened, JJ REDDICK got the permanent head coaching job, Joy Taylor has been curiously silent about it, I’m guessing because she probably metaphorically slurps Lebron, and how dare the Colts owner Irsay make that move to hire Saturday, but if Lebron is behind it, I guess it’s ok to pass up minority candidates that earned the opportunity! What a joke, but let’s be honest, Joy Taylor is also only in the position she’s in because of her brother.

AD has never been a consistent high level scorer for entire playoff series as a Laker for whatever reason except maybe his first season which had very different circumstances than any other season. LeBron hasn't been a high level 4th quarter scorer for several seasons and just a mediocre defender for close to a decade now. he can put up garbage points and empty calories very easily just like Aaron Rodgers can avoid throwing interceptions, but when you really need him to deliver when it matters, he would rather defer to someone else. they need way more than just Rondo and Dwight at this point and Jrue ain't walking through that door. they don't even have a mid-level exemption to use anymore since LeBron took the max (definitely not worth it either; Wizards Jordan took the minimum and donated it to charity), so they either have to trade away their mediocre role players and hope to fleece another team or sign veterans willing to take the minimum in the ludicrous belief they will win a title on the Lakers lol...

@@Puffthefan the game isn't played on paper. i don't care about AD's and especially LeBron's empty stats. they're not winning games. they both played over 70 games last season and struggled to make the play in lol. they won all of 47 games with their so called duo. when LeBron missed the few games he did this season, the team still won at a similar rate including against the likes of Milwaukee and Boston.
MJ only played 60 games on the 2002 Wizards and almost 20 of those games were either with a torn meniscus or coming back early after having it repaired. the team improved by 19 more games because of him even without a single other all-star on the team. the games he missed and the games when he came off the bench after his surgery, the Wizards lost the vast majority of them. the other bulk of the losses were in the first month of playing as he got back into shape after 3 years off and got his legs back.
but if anyone watched those games, mid season Wizards MJ before his injury was better than 39 year old LeBron...

I never thought I would say Shady made the best point on the topic. Basketball is a team game and I would take Bron and AD over many “duos” in the West, let alone the league. But a great “team” will beat a duo any day of the week. Many of the Western conference teams are better because of the overall makeup of the team. Nuggets, Wolves, OKC, Dallas, are better teams, outside of their duos. Teams such as the Warriors, Lakers, Suns don’t have the best supporting casts. Ric putting up the screen showing the duos really has no merit because like Shady was saying, he would take Bron and AD over many of the “duos” outside of Jokic/Murray and possibly KAT/Edwards. The Lakers’ role players just aren’t good enough.
Joy and Ric are definitely on something here. No way any sensible person can say this offseason hasn't been a bust for the Lakers. Right now as constructed, the Lakers will not make it to the playoffs. At 31 and 39 AD and LeBron will not be as good as they were last year, and guys like SGA, Luka, and Edwards will likely be better than they were last year, not to mention their already superior roster improved this offseason.
