One of the best vocalist in pop culture. All the producers she worked with said she’s the real deal. She’s like Kelly Clarkson, she’s able to turn any song into her own.
I’ve always thought she was SO under appreciated
She is one of the most, if not most, underrated and unappreciated artists worldwide.
shes really one of the best vocalist of all time she has the power like whitney, same technique like mariah, and range/agility like celine
Celine does not have that much Agility as leona and whitney in their past. Celine has more Power than all of them maybe but not a very agil voice
unfortunately her voice isn’t as good anymore. i believe syco records pushed her to sing like this in nearly every song and, well, she’s payed the price. she still has an amazing voice but she can’t keep up like she used to☹️☹️bless her heart, she spoke openly about the depression it caused her.
@@flaaaan7and she was also diagnosed with Hashimoto‘s. It affects her vocals if she has lke a spike of this disease
After all of these years I still get emotional hearing her cover this song..

Love Leona!!! Can't believe you reacted to her. I've never heard anyone else react to her. She has an amazing voice. I think she tried to break America with the backing of Simon Cowell but didn't make it for whatever reason. You should react to her song Footprints In The Sand. I love that song. It'll hit home too.
Also you need to hear Happy, Better In Time, and I Will Be!!! Trust me they won't disappoint!!!

@@damedusa5107 Agreed, Snow Patrol's original is still my absolute favourite version. I saw the live version at Oxygen on UA-cam many years ago and just watched it again now, it was a fantastic performance. Wish I had been there in person!

This Snow Patrol song was so ethereal the way she put it across. Brilliant rendition of a awesome tune.
Another chap who was on the X Factor UK was Matt Cardle. His version of Roberta Flacks - First Time Ever I Saw your Face and Moody Blues - Nights in White Satin are a definite listen to as well.

No one had done that rendition until Leona Lewis did it in her album Spirit in 2007

I prefer Leona’s live performance at Divas. That’s actually my favorite live performance of hers.
Leona. I still remember listening to this cover for the first time and getting goosebumps all over. I don't know if it is true but I seem to remember her having a bit of a hard time in the music business because of how ruthless it was/is.

@@esclad I know it's late and may be irrelevant now but whether it was a sneeze or breath intake or whatever else she was as graceful as ever I didn't even care because her voice was so ethereal it didn't matter what ever it was in the end.

If you haven't heard it, you should check out the Snow Patrol live version at Oxegen. Totally different experience but worth a watch. Lucy Thomas does a nice cover of this as well.

Love this song! Leona Lewis is a beast with a phenomenal voice. You should check out her performing "Can't breathe" in the O2 arena live. She also does another cover of a song called "stop crying your heart out" which is amazing.
I always loved this cover. My Hands from Final Fantasy (and the same album as Run) is a stunner of a song too.

Leona is a good singer with a terrific voice but if you like this song you should try Lucy Thomas version at age 15. She has just a knock out voice that was this song was made for.

It is a genuine Colotura Soprana voice, a very good one too. She is a delight to listen to & also to watch. I know of no other singer in pop to equal her astonishing talent. She is indeed in the Whitney class who was the best in a century plus.

My mother worked in a old person's care home during the pandemic and sadly caught covid-19 and passed away at only 60 years of age.
She always loved this song and listened to it remembering her late aunt who pass a few years earlier.
When she passed, this was the only song that could have been the song during her procession into the church #lightup
I think she was the first British female singer after 20+ years to make it at the #1 on US charts when she released Bleeding Love.
She had a severe illness that unfortunately impacted her vocal folds but she's still singing, I think she wants to take it easier now and also got a lil baby =)

Snow patrol is the only band that can give meaning to this song for me.
I had a curiosity and I compared this song in the performance of Leona Lewis vs. Glennis Grace on AGT 2018 and in my humble opinion Gleniss Grace is the absolute winner. The tone, the voice, the quality, the passion,vocal range of GG EASY to F5 is much more than L.L.
You should listen to this song in the GG version at AGT2018 and I think you will understand!!

She kind of just stopped after this. She was dropped by her label and we’ve not really heard from her again. Crazy as she is so talented.
? Are u trolling? She wasn't dropped after this! She has had multiple albums after spirit! Her second one echo was pretty successful as well! Yes, her face isn't all over the world, but she really still is pretty successful, especially in Europe! I'm from Belgium, and she's super famous in Belgium, Holland, Germany, France etc.... Her Christmas album is super successful! Last year it reached top 1 album in UK! The song one more sleep is the UK version of all I want for Xmas is you by Mariah! One more sleep brings Leona millions of dollars income yearly! The song is a xmas yearly bob! The reason why Leona is not as known as before is because she doesn't like being super famous! She's pretty shy and introvert. She has also never taken off her cloths or twerked etc.!!! In this day and age, singers like Leona who are really true powerhouse singers don't work in our society cause of stupid social media and TikTok ruining music! Now anyone can get famous with the right amount of followers and autotune and twerking! I'm happy Leona has a medium success these days! It keeps her mentally sane and financially stable at the same time! Being overly known and famous and rich comes at a super high price, hence most celebs trip out, fall apart and have mental breakdowns!

She never got the level of fame her talent should have. She got bad writers and shite production pushing to pop, not ballads and symphonies. Sad. A missed opportunity.

Wasn't her fault, she was badly handled by her stupid record company. She literally had more than 30 great songs (some of them never got released from Albums even though they were better than most of the tracks that were released, such as 'Alive', 'Homeless', 'Un-love me', 'Yesterday', 'I'm you', 'Can't breathe', 'Here I am', 'Come Alive' - which also has an awesome Acoustic Version on you tube, and some which never even made it to released Albums, such as 'Scene of the crime', 'Perfect Stranger', 'Intervention', 'Let somebody love you', 'Crying is beautiful' - all of which you can find on the internet)
