    Scott Weiland, “one of rock’s most dynamic front men” (Spin Mag), and his band the Wildabouts, will release their first album ever on March 27th, 2015 on earMUSIC.
    Titled “Blaster”, the album was produced by Rick Parker (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club), and recorded throughout 2014 at Lavish Studios in Burbank and at The Sandbox in Beachwood Canyon. “Blaster” features twelve tracks, all but one were written by ex-Stone Temple Pilots singer Weiland.
    The two time Grammy winning, multi-platinum selling songwriter/vocalist Weiland proclaims:
    “I wanted to make a rock record. It all just came together. It’s got a distinctive sound, but it also can entice those Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver fans who have stuck by me. What we’ve come up with is really heavy, slinky, and sexy. There’s a lot of fuzz. The best way to describe it is ‘Furry’.”
    “Furry” seems completely apropos given the natural, almost primal connection between the singer and his bandmates guitarist Jeremy Brown, bassist Tommy Black, and drummer Danny Thompson fostered by years of jamming and touring together.
    Take "White Lightning" for example, it sparks up “Blaster” Merging a revved up riff with Weiland's immortal croon, it instantly captivates. Maintaining that energy, “Beach Pop” wields a summery swing. A psychedelic guitar snap gives way to an enchanting vocal melody courtesy of Weiland. Then, there’s “Way She Moves” which is inspired by Weiland’s wife. It slides between a spiraling riff from Brown to more signature crooning that’s as seductive as it is soaring.
    The group also got the chance to nod to their idols further with two undeniable covers-David Bowie’s "Jean Genie" and T.Rex’ "20th Century Boy." Both allow the musicians to flex their chops as Weiland's voice reaches impressive heights.
    Take all this into consideration and you realize why the title “Blaster” fits so well.
    Weiland declares, "We chose a boombox for the cover because the image and sound are retro, but modern and, always, LOUD."
    Simply put, It’s Scott Weiland reborn.

    ABOUT SCOTT WEILAND
    The multi-platinum singer, songwriter, and author has cumulatively sold over 44 million records worldwide with Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver. He’s garnered two Grammy Awards in the category of “Best Hard Rock Performance”-in 2005 for “Slither” and in 1994 for “Plush”. Stone Temple Pilots’ “Purple” debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 a feat also accomplished by Velvet Revolver’s “Contraband”. Weiland’s voice has driven some of the most recognizable hits in rock ‘n’ roll history including “Sex Type Thing”, “Wicked Garden”, “Creep”, “Interstate Love Song”, “Vasoline”, “The Big Empty”, “Sour Girl”, “Down”, and more. He released his memoir “Not Dead & Not For Sale“ in 2011 to critical applause. Still, his most powerful music is yet to come with the release of 2015’s album.

      +Matheus Alexander damn failed system that puts a stigma on diseases such as addictions and mental health.. Scott lived his live out loud!! he got criticized because most live it quietly.. he was brilliant and sensitive, and tortured, he loved and was loved, he felt ,made beautiful honest and artistic music.. people can say they'd do it differently, but no one has ever walked in his shoes! So lets save the judgement since we cant,and remember him for all the things he was... a human being that lived and lived well and left his mark!!

    • @smokeyxTHAbear
      @smokeyxTHAbear 8 років тому +5

      +Dj dawn-Roxanne Well put. And what you said alone goes to show how well this artist succeeded. Because the impact he left on us still lives in us all, and if he helped even one person have a logical and positive lookout on things through what he did in life, than I'd consider that success.
