Hi Karen. Thank you for watching. The sea and waves carved out an opening over time, horizontally, on the edge of the rock. Eventually it makes its way to a porous area that is vertical and eats away at it so the force of the wave pushes the water through a tunnel created over time which then channels upward. I think a lot of the rock is old, dead coral so it's very porous.
