I'm an Amateur Radio enthusiast. I love the hobby and experimenting with radios, antennas and software. I have a lot of fun. On my UA-cam channel I upload videos mostly on the Icom 7300 and Icom 7610 as well as Ham Radio software programs. I hope to inspire people to get involved in Amateur Radio.

I dreamed of buying an IC-7610, but the family budget allowed IC-7300

I am trying to set up my 7610 for the NTP Time Sync and have yet to get it to work, even after watching your UA-cam video. Here is what I have set up. I do have the RG-45 cable hooked up between the 7610 and the CPU (windows 10). The green light is on on the back of the rig and CPU. I am unable to hardwire the rig to the router due to distance / location in the house. The computer is connected wirelessly to the router. In your video, you used a TP-Link WR802N. On the rig, the DHCP is on, however there is no address indicated only (. . . ) The NTP function is on. On the LAN AF/IF output, I've tried both AF and IF. Any ideas what else I need to look at? Or is the bottom line, I need the TP-Link WR802N ?
Thanks for posting here. That's a great question. I see what you're trying and if the radio cannot pull an IP from the Router have you tried turning the Win10 into a personal hotspot. That way the radio will pull and IP from it instead of the router. Does that make sense? GL and let me know how it goes. 73!
@@HamRadioAdventures I do not know how to turn Win10 into a personal hotspot, but I will Google that and learn how. I will let you know how it goes and thanks for the quick repsonse.
If the 2nd Clock doesn't appear, touch the "EXPD/SET" soft button. The mentioned button appears while in display mode. Bottom right corner. Very important. Author doesn't mention this!
Thanks for your input Todd. Great to see you here. 73 and good DX!
neat stuff I don't own this radio but always wondered about the network connection on these icom radios. I keep hoping one day that icom will make a color display d star radio like this one. Im not sure why they refuse to make one but seems that way.
Thank you so much, I appreciate the feedback. Thanks for watching have a happy and safe new years, best 73 - Rich, K0PIR
Thank you! This helped me a lot 73,
i guess it's pretty off topic but does anyone know a good place to stream new tv shows online?
@Merrick Marcel try flixzone. You can find it on google =)
@Maverick Elias Yea, I've been using Flixzone for years myself =)
@Maverick Elias thank you, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D Appreciate it!!
@Merrick Marcel happy to help :)
Too bad you cannot automatically sync the clock by plugging a GPS dongle into one of the USB ports on the front of the radio. Perhaps Icom should do a firmware update that makes this possible.
Thanks for commenting. The USB ports on the front of the radio are very limited. The network (if connected) updates the radios clock automatically. Best wishes 73 and good DX! de Rich KØPIR
@@HamRadioAdventures The feature I suggested could come in handy if you were out in the middle of nowhere with no access to such a network, such as during a SOTA activation. Granted, this unit is probably too heavy to take on a SOTA hike.
Or, allow the clock to be automatically synchronized using the digital portions of the time signals from WWV or CHU.
