Happy Birthday my man! Be ready….. I’m 45…. It gets weirder unfortunately. 20s are an amazing time.., 30s are growing up… kids, marriages etc… 40s are people getting sick… passing away… divorces etc.., it’s a long and winding road. Enjoy every breath ❤

Don't be ridiculous. Getting sick at 40 and passing away? Only if you don't take care of yourself or extremally unlucky. More like 60-70. Being in someone's 40s is still in their prime. In my opinion it's the best time for kids/marriages and you still have 20-30 years easily ahead of you.
They don't mean you get ill and die in your 40s.
They mean that in your 40s people in your life get ill and die, like parents etc.
I just turned 43 on June 10th and I'm yet to get married 😊

Such a devastating week for the community. We lost some real ones for sure.
Just turned 40 myself last month. Doesn't it feel insane? Seems like this is when you really start feeling that mortality. Celebrities you grew up watching are dropping, family getting sick. Honestly sucks in some ways.

It sucks how Cartoonist Kayfabe & Comicstorian are no more because I really enjoyed that content.
Ed & Benny were very enthusiastic promoting the comic book art form & the industry needs that.
Others are still out there getting the word out but hopefully more step up to keep pushing the comic book love. Gem you keep it up man. 👍🏼
I had a relative of only 25 years old pass away in 2024, you could go at any time. Live with no hate & no regrets.

It's really sad hearing off these losses. I was a fan of Benny. He had high energy and an amazing ability to captivating you through retelling stories. I loved the energy he put into his work. It was fun listening to him go through stories I didn't even really care for. His passing is a huge loss for the community 🙏

@@sandy34740 True, my father passed away 9 years ago. As my mother is 70+ the visits to the doctor are getting frequent. And when I think of it I get shivers as i cannot imagine without her. She too is very concerned because I'm an introvert and I haven't been married yet and what will happen to me later on without anyone near me.

I can’t believe Benny is gone
He was the reason I got into comics in early 2017
I loved his audio dramas but my favorite videos were his when he was just being Benny
His podcast with comics explain. His stories in military
His random ramblings about anything his laughter is very contagious
I watched his videos every day from the day I found his channel to the day he passed away it’s really sad how all those creators are passing away so close together
Well said, Gem and 'You Do You' sounds like great advise that Benny brought to the table as the success of your channel is a testament to your dedication for the content you create. I just had started reading Ed Piskor's Red Room- not knowing who he was- and was fascinated by the line art style, concept, the writing and the time and dedication he put into his work. A very sad day and a huge let down for his fans and those who supported him and the parting his co-host spelled out for him once the allegations came out, I'm sure weighed heavy for him. I, like you, wish Ed would have reached out rather then taking the cheap way out. There must have been a lot more going on for him then anyone knew. And Long Box was the Jump Scare no one saw coming. Absolutely heartbreaking. Appreciate your channel and your insight regarding our hobby.

Agree. Tomorrow isn't promised, for sure. Being in my 40's, I've tried to be cool again with people that I didn't mess with anymore for dumb reasons. Knew a lot of people outside the community passing and made me really think about how I should move going forward. Now you see the loss in the community and it just hammers it home even further.
Tell your people you love them and don't put off connecting with someone assuming you can just hit them up forever.

Ed's passing was pretty impactful for me as I'd only discovered his work and channel a year prior. Ridiculous how life can change so quickly and so dramatically. Had no idea we share the same birthday. Just turned 41 and I can honestly tell you that 40 was one of the best and healthiest years of my life so far. I was feeling down before turning 40, I was witnessing what you and the community are going through. Seeing people pass away because of a heart attack and being unhealthy. It's scary and pushed me to accomplish a huge goal that I started a few weeks before I turned 40. Complete 100 pushups everyday - no excuses. Pushups build a strong heart. 40s do bring a lot of harsh reality checks into our lives, but they can be the best years of your life too, especially if you're married with kids. Negativity spreads easily, but stay positive. Positivity keeps us moving forward. God bless!
