Where are the Game Boy Pokémon games on NSO?

- It's been over a year since Game Boy and Game Boy Advance came to NSO, but we still don't have the original Pokémon games on the platform. Where are they, and are we ever going to get them?

i remember beating stadium with rentals, didn't even know what "mainline games" were back then, lol
My theory on why they haven't released the first three generations games on Switch is that they are trying to make them work with Pokemon Home while they are on NSO service, trying to block anyone from manipulating/glitching the save files. If they released those games as any normal downloadable game, people would probably backup the saves, modify stuff and inject it back in the console. Another reason might be the Mistery Gifts, like the Eon Ticket or the Mew Event.
About the spin-offs: If Pokemon Legends ZA is destinated to be released November 2025, then there is a fat chance that something good will be announced for NSO during August Pokemon Presents. They will try to cover the waiting time with games like Pokemon XD, Pinball, TGC or Mistery Dungeon.
Man, I hope you’re right about that! The summer Pokemon Presents are usually a hit or miss for me, but releasing more classic games on NSO would definitely make it worthwhile!

My theory is that they are going to make them exclusive for the next generation console, or include them at a higher tier that includes GC games or both. Glad that I own Red,Yellow,Silver and Fire Red, ruby sapphire and emerald on gba but I would definitely pay the current 2nd tier subscription price If the games had home connectivity. It would be cool to be able to play the games on the more comfortable switch or on my tv and not have to worry about batteries dying in the cartridges
I wish I still had my original copies of the classic games. But even if I did, like you said, the batteries would most likely be dead. Having them in the switch could be so convenient, and I’m sure a lot of people would pay a bit extra just to have the ability to play it on a modern day console
It couldn’t possibly be that Pokémon company is the Disney of Video game companies and just puts their games in the vault for twenty years and throw you in jail if you find a way to play them otherwise.
Sounds about right. I’m the problem since I am throwing money at them, just for a taste of that nostalgia

I feel like they are just edging everyone with making their product unattainable, because what do people want more than not having something? Yeah having it, their literally priming peoples wallets before throwing the game online and people will massively buy it me including😂
