Having the accused be forced to show every shred of evidence he has in his own defence is like playing poker where everyone can see your cards. IF the accuser is a liar, she now has months to hone her lies to perfection to make them conform to whatever the story needs to be to block out every avenue of proving innocence.

Right! This won't result in more RAPISTS going to prison. It will result in more INNOCENT MEN going to prison. The social "justice" movement strikes again.

Interesting how he tries to use neutral terms when explaining things but from time to time he has a Freudian slip using 'she' and 'her' from time to time......

The issue is about the defense revealing their rebuttal evidence to the prosecution where there may be dishonest testimony for of the accusers.

I think they might get around this by letting the judge ONLY see the evidence. That would provide the defense with the element of surprise that they deserve. Why should the prosecution have the right to see that evidence? No other kind of case would permit that.

Well, duh, the evidence in the Gomeshi trial would've still been admitted under this new bill, the problem is the alleged victim being able to change their statement or have time to explain away discrepancy between recorded evidence and their own testimony.

Yes. That guy on the left was trying his luck with specious weak talking points. I particularly loved the part when the guys say "but even you don't believe in the things you just said". see 01:34:09

That was pretty funny, however irrelevant ant. Personal beliefs and lawyers do not necessarily correlate.

They're rendering Canadian women a legal liability. No wonder Canadian men are going outside of the country to find a wife.

    Diana,
All of the "rape myths" cited at 1:14 are not myths. They are correct general observations about sex that are made to sound ridiculous by falsely assuming that they are always true is all cases or that all acts of sex between men and women are rape.
    1) A woman who has had more sexual experience is more likely to consent. That is true. Obviously a 25 year old woman who has sex six nights a week is more likely to desire sex and have sex than a 25 year old who has never had sex. So how often you desire sex is an indication that you did something in line with your character. A person who drinks beer every day is more likely to want and drink a beer today than a person who never drinks.
Also, women are more likely to have sex with someone that they have had consensual sex with before. This is simply a fact. Very few women have sex with a different partner every time they have sex. They tend to have sex with a man or a few men multiple times. If they enjoy sex with a man, they are likely to want to have sex again with the same man and if they don't enjoy it, they are unlikely to. Thus they are more likely to desire sex with a previous partner. The more they desire sex the less likely a woman was sexually assaulted. To call this a rape myth and not to believe it is to abandon common sense and truth and to be stupid.
    2) To talk about being less or more worthy of belief based on allegations against a long time lover is weird. Obviously, it is quite rare for a long time sex partner to suddenly turn into a rapist. It is far more likely that a woman will make up a false rape charge after being disappointed with a long time lover. Thus one should be more skeptical of a rape charge against a long time lover than a rape charge against a stranger. When there is a knock on a door, and I ask, "who is it," if the voice answers, "Your wife," I immediately open it. If the voice is a stranger, I hesitate to open it. This is normal and rational.
    * Some women do fantasize about rape. According to this article 90% do fantasize about rape.www.psychologytoday.com/blog/all-about-sex/201508/why-do-women-have-rape-fantasies
    * Women do sometimes want sex and say "No." They say no for many reasons. They do not want to appear too "easy, or they want to be put in a more romantic mood. They are afraid that sex might lead to a deeper relationship than they want, so they desire to get to know the person better before saying, "Yes." They want sex, but they want more than a one night stand. All words are polysemous and a "No" does not mean "No" sex depending on the question; ex., Do you want me to kiss you? No... I want you to touch my breasts.
*Women can/will/should fight off a rapist. Yes, if a woman is stronger than a man why shouldn't she fight him off? Isn't fighting off rape a good thing?
    * Who ever said that women aren't harmed by rape if they are sexually experienced? Never heard of that one. The idea that rape would probably affect a woman less who has had hundreds of sex partners over many years than a woman who has only had one or two seems reasonable. A professional bull fighter would probably be hurt less by a charging animal than someone who has never been charged by an animal.
    * Women invite sex with their clothing. They do not invite rape. So how they are dressed is important. Obviously, dressing sexy means that they had a greater desire for sex than if they did not dress sexy. So dress is a factor in determining their desire for sex.
*Stranger rape is worse than acquaintance rape may be true or not. I don't know of any scientific studies.
    * This is a fact not a myth - Women who report later are and should be believed less, all things being equal. People take care of injuries as soon as they are hurt. They don't wait a year after being punched in the face to go to a doctor. Yes, the trauma caused by a punch may show up in diagnostic tests a year later, but it is harder to see cause-effect relationships the longer time pass.
What passes for "Rape Myths" are most offen commonplace truths that having been distorted by Gender-feminist miswording and unfounded assumptions and presumptions.
All objective evidence pointing towards normal heterosexual sex is considered a rape myth by misandrist lesbian Gender-feminists ideologists.

I witnessed my father sexually assaulting my mother because she refused to yield to him and allow him to have her and his girlfriend at the same time. I was 9 years old. There is no rape myth is bullshit. Men don’t rape for sex but for power and dominance over women’s autonomy and self-determination.
Your logic is bullshit in the face real experience like mine.

The corroboration thing (e.g. supposing it become a social norm to film everything) is still a problem even if it was required in court. Because many people who observe a 100% consensual sex act will conclude that something is being done which doesn't look nice for the woman. She's being used or dominated or what have you. There's a lot of variation in what people think is good (for them). When they see something not 100% matching that hey are going to not like it and that translates automatically to "and so that women is not being treated well". They are the ones who would need the woman to be asked "do you consent" and have to say "yes" every 3 minutes. So there you go... there's the answer: film everything and ask the woman to say yes every three minutes. 2 minutes? 30 seconds?
