    Thank you for posting this!!! We're thinking about buying property in a development on the south side of the Guadalupe River portion of this video and this opened my eyes to the beauty of the area!! I would never get sick of paddling up and down that stretch..

    Great scenic paddle!
    Watch out for those falls. Looks safe at that flow but more and you can get a nasty keeper hydraulic from the littlest low head dam or fall.
    Especially when you paddle alone as I do, throw sticks in and see if they recirculate.
    Thanks for sharing this cool spot.

    Learned to swim right there, caught my pb bass at turkey lake cove 100yds from the creek entrance. Now you cannot walk and fish the bank without some country yuppie yelling at you.

      Hasn’t been this low since the 1960s. Too much development.

    I really love those giant dead bald cypress skeletons emerging from the water in Rebecca Creek. There really is a sense of eerie beauty in those dead trees. I love visiting Texas lakes just to see the ghost forests that were left standing before the land was submerged.

    What are all those big ol dead trees in the water?

    • @secretsoftexas6872
      @secretsoftexas6872  3 роки тому +1

      The formation of the lake killed them. They were bald cypress trees that once lined the river like you see so often throughout the hill country.

      Never say never in a Texas Lake in the eastern half of the state. I would say generally you are more likely to see them the further downstream you go.

      @@secretsoftexas6872 So you would say it's possible to have them in that region? I thought maybe around Houston and along the coast.
