Thanks! I love how detailed your video is so we know how to adjust the amounts for if we're just going to try the mask once or if we have sensitive skin.. Not everyone's videos are as detailed or informative, so really appreciate this! You have my vote for the Shorty award, good luck!!
Coconut oil works nicely. Massage a bit in, let it sit 30 seconds or so, and rinse off with a soft cloth. I use it when I've done a heavy eye makeup and it's being contrary with my normal remover. Wonderful for the skin, too!
Lavender oil is used for healing remedies, you can use it for facial masks like Klaire has, add drops to bath water, sprinkle it on your pillow to help you sleep, its very good for healing piercings! You can use the oil on burners too to make a relaxing scented room
Hazelnut oil is one of my favourite oils, together with jojoba and almond oil. so maybe just carefully add a litte oil instead of mashed walnuts. Or as already mentioned, honey. Generally curd and joghurt in masks are also very soothing and hydrating.
It has anti-inflammatory properties, also the aspirin gets rid of dead skin cells due to it's gritty texture acting as an exfoliant. It is said to reduce the appearance of acne, but I'm on the fence with that one. Hope I helped.
Aspirin is basically a form of salicylic acid, which prevents breakouts because it has anti-clogging/clotting properties. It's been used ever since it's invention for skincare, so it's been around for quite a while:)
I am not Klaire but I happen to know the answer to your question :) Aspirin contains mainly Salicylic Acid which is known to be beneficial for the skin especially if you suffer from breakouts and blocked pores. It is a very common ingredient in many skincare products for 'problem skin' :) hope that helps! xx
active ingredient of aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid. That stuff is actually contained in many anti acne skin products, just in a low concentration. With masks like that you have a higher concentration, which is more effective but also aggressive, so handle with care if you have really sensitive skin. It works as a chemical peeling acid, removing dead skin cells for brighter complexion and is antibacterial. But if you are unsure ALWAYS do you own research and don't just rely on one source ;)
It's really good for clearing up acne! I use this when my skin goes a bit mental and starts breaking out but it can make your skin look worse at first because it's pulling out all the rubbish :)
Bergamot, cajuput(milder but comparable to tea tree), Galbanum, immortelle, Iris, chamomile, carrot seed oil, Manuka(leptospermum scoparium to avoid confusion) and juniper are cool essential oils for skin care. there's a lot more, so do your research! Just keep in mind that you should generally never apply them directly to the skin but always diluted. handled with some respect and care, essential oils are absolutely awesome! ^^
Asprin's anti-inflammatory properties, and capability of sloughing off dead skin prevents your pours from clogging, and it's great for acne and skin inflammations.
Green clay works like super powerful songe pulling all the muck out of the skin so yes this would help. and for the rest of the ingredients I've detailed what they all do exactly on my blog pos (link in the description box)
I believe it has anti-flammation effect, so cure some acne, scars, etc. But I think it is essential to wear a sun block follow that when you go out, because your skin will be quite sensitive!
any nut works, you can use almonds too, but you need to really grind them well, or you can use smashed avocado (will not last long), freash olives or even a bit of oil of your choice (I love macadamian nut one and tamanu)
Aspirin has salicylic acid, which helps to clean out impurities in the skin. Salicylic acid is pretty much the main ingredient in most toners and astringents.
if you have sensitive skin in general I would advice recplacing essential oil with herb decoction that you put instead of water, calendular one would be great
This is awesome. I've wondered how you keep your skin so beautiful. Now I just need to figure out where to get the green clay. I love your mortar. I haven't been able to find a stone one that I liked so the one I have is wooden. Thanks for sharing. :0)
Aspirin is basically an anti-inflammatory and will help reduce swelling and redness. A lot of aspirin has caffeine and caffeine helps 'liven up' (for lack of a better word, it's 2:30 am xD) your cells and increases their work.
Yay another way I can use my mortar and pestle! This mask looks so unique and interesting I'll have to try this one out I loved your rice scrub. What kind of store would I be able to find a jar like that in?
Please do more makeup videos! But I do love this mask, I'm going to go and get the stuff for it tomorrow :D but still, I would really like more makeup videos. I have so much fun trying to do them and I have a few that I do all the time because they are just so amazing! THANKYOU.
I made this just now but without the aspirin since I didn't have any, white clay instead of green, and pecans instead of walnuts, since that's just what I had ;) I'm letting it sit now and can't wait to use it!
if you did not put any water in and you store it in a fridge it can last up to a month easily , I would even say 3 month, it will go bad when the nuts in it go bad, but if you put essential oil there is a chance it will fly away during this period if not stored properly, so I reccomend putting oil with water as the before use stage, also with water , you can use store bought floral water or other hydrolate that has a bit of alchocol as a way to preserve it, so it will last longer
Also you can use coconut oil instead of lavender oil and walnuts :) since unrefined coconut oil is very hydrating :) at least that's what I did lol since I'm allergic to lavender and I didn't have walnuts because they are expensive where I live
If you are allergic to aspirin/acetylsalicylic acid maybe use a different AHA, a tiny splash of lemon juice(contains citric acid) in the mask should do a comparable job ^^ Paracetamol is less anti-inflammatory(interesting if you suffer from acne). The aspirin is supposed to work as a chemical peel, I am not sure what other drugs contain comparable acids. So better take e.g. lemon juice than risk anything and experiment with drugs.
Thank you! My skin is being really stupid right now. It's all dry except for a patch about the size of a nickel (five pence) on my forehead and my nose, which are both oily.
You are so talented and I love all Your videos. I've learned a LOT from Your videos! Thank you For putting so much Time and effort into these videos For us! :3

This is really helpful Klaire. But the problem is, I couldn't find a green clay anywhere here in the Philippines. I don't buy on eBay because I don't have a Paypal account. Too bad :(
Hi Klaire! I really love your DIY mask videos :) I just have a question, us there anything I could use as an alternative to clay? I'm not sure I'd find it where I live.
Can you do a video on how to grind things with the mortar and pestle? I probably sound so dumb but I've never seen it done and I'm curious. Also, if you don't have a mortar and pestle can you use a food processor? Thank you :D!
The walnuts sound lovely, but is it possible to just leave them out (I'm allergic to nuts) or better to try and replace the bulk they create with something else?
awesome. :D i have never used anything for my skin, lol.. my face hardly ever breaks out... just my shoulders & back sometimes... and i get headaches a lot, so i take ibuprofen quite often... i just wondered about the aspirin because i take enough of that on the inside, lol ;p
Hey Klaire =) Why do you put aspirin in the mask ? I'm feeling a little stupid asking this x'D But I would like to know the purpuse of the ingredient :) Thank you so much for the recipes and take care!
Klaire, you've outdone yourself with the editing and preparation. Great job! Thank you for this awesome mask tutorial, it looks so professional!
Thanks! I love how detailed your video is so we know how to adjust the amounts for if we're just going to try the mask once or if we have sensitive skin.. Not everyone's videos are as detailed or informative, so really appreciate this!

You little miss have the must beautiful and calm voice i have ever heard! :) i will try this face mask!

I love these types of diy videos and they are made so beautifully! Keep up the good work!
Love this recipe! It's the same base idea as the mint julep mask, but so much better! Love it!
It has anti-inflammatory properties, also the aspirin gets rid of dead skin cells due to it's gritty texture acting as an exfoliant. It is said to reduce the appearance of acne, but I'm on the fence with that one. Hope I helped.

You have amazing skin! This looks nice but the aspirin part scares me! Good job though! And I'll be happy to vote for you! You're amazing !!

I love how creative you are!
You have such gorgeous skin! I need to do a face mask tomorrow because my skin has been breaking out lately.
Green clay works like super powerful songe pulling all the muck out of the skin so yes this would help. and for the rest of the ingredients I've detailed what they all do exactly on my blog pos (link in the description box)

Klaire I cannot thank you enough for this mask recipe! I've been looking for a good clay mask for a while, and this looks perfect :)
Aspirin has salicylic acid, which helps to clean out impurities in the skin. Salicylic acid is pretty much the main ingredient in most toners and astringents.
I use this often, and it works really well for me!
Klairedelys I think you should have your own skin care line. Your ideas are great. :)
if you have sensitive skin in general I would advice recplacing essential oil with herb decoction that you put instead of water, calendular one would be great

You are probably double my age yet your face, mam, looks more youthful then mine.
Yay another way I can use my mortar and pestle! This mask looks so unique and interesting I'll have to try this one out I loved your rice scrub. What kind of store would I be able to find a jar like that in?
This mask look interesting,I'll definitely give it a try.

Lavender oil is a known skin irritant, coconut oil would be a better substitute.
The skin on your eyes is so light!
They always look so pretty. Is there anything you do to your eyes daily?
Yes you can just use a food processor :)
No wonder why your skin so gorgeous!
I wish I had your skin!!!
:-D
Don't get me wrong, I watch your video's to learn to do awesome looks and get beauty tips, but sometimes I watch because your voice calms me down e.e
Your skin is lovely.
Yes you can use a food processer. I just don't have one which is why I used the mortar :)
Amazing video! Your skin looks beautiful! And last but no least YOU ARE AMAZING!
has the same stuff found in anti-acne creams :) reduces inflammation too

@cascadestar you could just take a knife on its side so its flat and press it on top of what you want to crush or a glass works too using the bottom
Thank you so much for sharing, Klaire! Can't wait to try it.
I love DIY face masks! I just use powdered face masks from Yula Organics and I customize it with different oils
Also you can use coconut oil instead of lavender oil and walnuts :) since unrefined coconut oil is very hydrating :) at least that's what I did lol since I'm allergic to lavender and I didn't have walnuts because they are expensive where I live
You have beautiful skin!
I'll try this out for sure :) please Klaire keep doing this videos, I love them!
Agreed!
Maybe rose oil or calendula would work in a very VERY low concentration, but better be safe than sorry
I got mine from Amazon (I've included the link in the description box) :)
I just watched Michelle Phan's Aspirin Mask, and then did this and it was so awesome!!! :)
If you are allergic to aspirin/acetylsalicylic acid maybe use a different AHA, a tiny splash of lemon juice(contains citric acid) in the mask should do a comparable job ^^

Just don't use the walnuts, the mask will work just fine with just the other ingredients :)
it's similar but I'm not sure if it is the same...:/
You are so talented and I love all Your videos. I've learned a LOT from Your videos! Thank you For putting so much Time and effort into these videos For us! :3
I've read that Lavender oil can be irritating (although it smells yummy) - so people with sensitive skin might want to leave it out :)
Beautiful Glowing skin!
No affiliate links means that if someone buys something on my reccomendation I get a commission, it dosen't change the price for the buyer, just means I make a percentage of the sale :)
Oh okay thank you! I wanted to try it but I wasn't sure if I can because of my acne. Thanks Klaire! :)
Your skin looks amazing! Thanks for the video. Can you get the clay from a grocery store?
Glad you like the editing! :D Trying to keep improving it bit by bit with each video :)
so thats why you have incredible skin..
Hi Klaire:) Where can I find the green clay? This looks like an amazing mask and I really want to try it out. Loved the video!
you could use a bit of yogurt! its a great moisturizer
This is really helpful Klaire. But the problem is, I couldn't find a green clay anywhere here in the Philippines. I don't buy on eBay because I don't have a Paypal account. Too bad :(
Thank you for another DIY tutorial Klaire :) your so pretty. With or without makeup :)
this, I GOTTA try! thanks for sharing awesome recipe love!
what does the clay do?
I've linked the places where you can get the slightly harder to find ingredients in the description box :)
Absolutely love it. Straight away I wnt to ebay to look for the clay :)) I would like to prepare a homemade face mask. Nice idea, thank you!
i've always love you videos , it's helpful and inspiring
I think it may be anti-inflammatory so it helps with blemishes- I may be wrong though!
Are you ok with tea tree oil?
You are so pretty! I was wondering where I'd go to get green clay.
you can skip them or add seeds like sesame ground up very nicely
Oh gosh...um...can't remember......I think it was Claus Olson?
This is very nice. Time or me to start looking up where I can buy green clay :P.
Oh, I cannot wait to give this a go!
My father uses Green Clay, so I'm going to ask for some of that, but I have to look for Lavender Oil. :P
Thanks for sharing! It's a great idea :D
THE BRUTAL MASK RETURNS!!!!
I love the idea of this mask, as I use oats a lot in my skin care anyway, but what would you use if you are allergic to walnuts? Thanks! ^_^
@rockgeek16 lavender oil is good for your skin! It's healing, soothing and antiseptic! Which is good for the grumpy acne.
Try Rose Mountain Herbs. That's where I buy my stuff. I think they ship internationally.
If you cant use walnuts, I've found honey has the same soothing effectt
Try using a mini and cheap food processor or a cheap coffee/spice grinder.
Maybe you can just store it in powder form and just add water in when you use it, it will last longer
The walnuts sound lovely, but is it possible to just leave them out (I'm allergic to nuts) or better to try and replace the bulk they create with something else?
your skin is perfect !
aspirin is known to be good for treating acne :P many beauty gurus have used it in their face masks.
I'm feeling a little stupid asking this x'D But I would like to know the purpuse of the ingredient :)
Thank you so much for the recipes and take care!
Can you do more face masks? Piticularily ones that can help with acne?
I wish i had your hands, they are so pretty c:
Yup that would be ok :)
You have great skin!
