...Well, at least Ilymation achieved the dreams that she wanted? - Фільми й анімація
All I remember about this one is seeing a trailer for it, forgeting about it, then spoting a DVD of the sequel at a gas station and thinking aloud "How did this happen?"
They made a sequel?
They made 5
@@user-zx9sy5yi3w That many!? Oh, Lord.
@@DanGamingFan2846 It rivals the Alpha and Omega franchise for how bad it gets with each sequel.
@@user-zx9sy5yi3w Well they’re both from the same company, so..
It’s often pointed out that the lemmings are a blatant rip-off of the Minions, but as annoying as the Minions are, at least Illumination actually tried to make them kind of distinct characters.
The Minions all look the same (there’s only like four distinct designs and they’re all copy-pasted hundreds of times), but Gru can somehow tell them apart and knows all of their names despite there literally being thousands of them. This is not only funny for its absurdity, but it’s also genuinely sweet because it shows that Gru doesn’t consider the minions his faceless henchmen, but his actual friends/family. It fleshes out their relationship beyond master and minion, but also actively complements the themes and story by showing early on that Gru isn’t the heartless, evil villain that he’s trying to present himself as.
Whereas in _Norm Of The North_ Norm exclusively refers to the lemmings as just “lemmings”. He doesn’t know or care about them as individuals and only sees them as a group. They have no names or distinct personalities, they add nothing to Norm’s personality or even the film itself, and they’re just generic, one-dimensional comic relief.
Norm is more heartless than Despicable me 1 Gru. I'd say I'm surprised, but...who am I kidding, of course I'm not!
The minions are much funnier than the lemmings..,
I remember wanting to tear my hair out at the lemmings. This might look funny but the minions seem way more tolerable..
Also the minions are sometimes sweet, too like when they followed Gru's orders to give Agnus a new unicorn and then came back with one. And then Agnus gave one of them a "thank you" kiss.
The minions have more personality imo.
The lemmings are just- no..
Too long
Didn't read
@@RepostCollection Was that really necassary? If you didn't read what's the point of commenting?
That's like almost the same as clicking on a story online and commenting that you didn’t read it.
Let's not forget this movies crowning achievement:
It's a franchise so bad, not even Rob Schneider came back.
Pretty sure he did.
@@thomasspongeconductor2222 Only the young girl didn’t get recast for the sequels.
Nah the crowning achievement is probably the twitter
Wait this movie got a sequel?? A franchise?!?!! HOW???
Fun fact: this movie was originally intended for direct to dvd, but the company decided to put it into theaters during movie dump month.
Why am I not surprised?
I believe they made the Spanish dub somewhat decent, a lot better than the English one so it doesn't fail too hard in Chile and Argentina, two of the biggest market in the South where January (technically February) isn't a bad month for movies
Didn't work, but if this was intended, well played. Not all good hands win after all
The Spanish dub seems more competent than the English version. Not to mention that it has a talented cast.
Norm Of The North never fails to amaze me. Nobody likes it, people only watch it ironically, their Twitter has no PR concerns, but they made multiple sequels despite that. They’re persistent, I’ll say that much.
Almost like they don't care what we think of them, they just do what they like.
Hold on, isn't one of Norm's first lines "Don't listen to the haters"?
I think the norm of the north twitter account is better and funnier then the whole series
Wasn’t the Twitter recently shot down?
I just realized something. Whatever happened to Norm’s dad? Wouldn’t he be next in line for being king instead of Norm himself?
He was the king that told Norm to stop worrying about humans. I guess he just stepped down at the end and disappeared in the sequels.
Norm is fatherless
norms dad went to go get frozen milk
Anything with Rob Schneider is almost guaranteed to be awful
Don’t forget James Corden. He’s always crammed into animated films, and more often than not it ends up being… Not the best, to say the least.
DAZZZZ PIKMIN 4 HAS BEEN CONFIRMED
@@PansyPops yeah I know. The thing is though, James Corden is only in the UK dub while Rob Schneider is in both the US and UK dub
Oh, here's the thing about that... he didn't return for the sequels. Yeah, the fact that there are Norm sequels is one thing, but even more foreboding is the fact that only one of the initial characters from the first movie reprised their role. That's a sign of quality there!
@@WillieManga especially when Rob Schneider and James Cordon don't return for the sequels, because they're both terrible actors
Careful Dazz. Norm doesn’t like it when people leave bad reviews of his movies. If he catches wind of this review, he’s gonna break into your house, and force you to review the sequels. Don’t believe me? Just ask 24 Frames of Nick.
That's what I was thinking 😂
And even when you think you’re safe, they’re gonna make a new movie, and you’ll have to watch that.
(literally just made that comment just to compliment your pfp)
Atleast the Sequels are an Improvement
It would be funny if this became a running joke of this channel
@@sweetbubblegum55 it would be funnier if this was a running joke on every channel that reviewed norm of the north
Oh god, I remember when my school partnered with D.A.R.E to take us to see this movie when I was in sixth grade. I felt so empty during the whole thing. And they made us watch it TWICE. That was an afternoon I'll never get back...
Ironic, considering this movie makes you really want to smoke crack
The illymation comparison is so accurate
Throughout the entire video I was questioning if that character was actually voice acted by her
I noticed it too.
Ok but as a gay guy I found the “norm could you come out?” “I think I already did” joke fucking hilarious. Like I laughed way too hard at that one when you showed it
Why are u gay though??
I thought I was alone!
That's good at least ^^
Yeah same. It was the only joke that got a chuckle out of me.
As someone who has interacted with a Aqua Optima Aurora Chilled & Filtered Water Dispenser, 3.8Litre Capacity in the past 30 years, I agree.
I watched this movie in theaters with my grandmother. I forgot about the plot before we even left the building
I really want him to be the antagonist in the next movie
The fifth one?
I'm sorry if I crushed your soul, really, really sorry.
I vividly remember seeing this movie in the theater with a preschool class I was chaperoning and feeling the affects of acute brain damage afterward
One thing that still doesn’t make sense to me is why would someone live in a house in Arctic where so many thing would go wrong like the ice melting, resources, predators, and trying to stay warm while the temperature drops to the negatives
You know, it’s so refreshing to hear an Illymation reference that’s not from other animated UA-camrs.
1:43 Ooh, poor seal, you can see on his eyes he would prefer to be eaten by Norm over hearing to his story.
That made me laugh.
I was supposed to watch this in theaters but halfway through, the audio bugged and we couldn't see it. At the time, I thought this sucked because I really wanted to see the movie. Now, it was the best thing to ever happen to me.
Ohhhh- I remember watching this in my cinema. And even as a child, I still thought: 'Huh. This is weird.'
I didn't even see this movie and I already want my money back.
10:38 That cheap reindeer movie is literally traced off Dreamwork’s Spirit wtf
Grandpa: "Go, Norm. Do it for the artic, Do it for our home."
Norm: "I'm not gonna leave you, Grandpa. You are the artic."
I don't know why but I love those lines of Dialogue.
damn he said his grandpa was fat 💀
@@protogen-posting No, he was meaning that he belongs at the artic and is a part of it.
I feel like Norm saw his grampa as the most important thing on his life, even more than his home.... awwww
cornball cheeseball dialogue
Rob Schneider isn't just Cedric in Home Alone 2 - he's in like every Adam Sandler movie (or at least the ones from the "before" times): he's the guy who always says "You can do it!" in a weird accent.
Anyone notice that the Lemmings are just gods in this movie
There’s also the question of how Norm’s iPod still holds charge after years, in a cold climate. This is a drinking game movie. And how does Norm not overheat in New York?
Maybe be he just got it, also if we don't question why the males don't try to kill each other on the movie we shouldn't question the other thing either
@@TunaBear64 The film shows he got it as a kid (the same design model the sequels use for his kids), when he accidentally scared a tourist away by talking to them.
What's odd is that Norm is actually the latest in attempt to adopt a supposedly 'cursed' screenplay.
---
The movie called Atuk was about an Eskimo that travels to New York City to save The Arctic.
The reason it's believed to be cursed is that it was intended to star John Belushi, Sam Kinison, John Candy. Chris Farley and Phil Hartman...ALL of whom died untimely deaths before they could be in the film.
---
But if you look at the screenplay, Norm is basically Atuk only with a bear instead of an Eskimo!
I love the line "See you on the other side. Whichever one we get to"
Norm of the north proved to us Spyro fan boys that the writer wasn’t trusted for the cancelled Spyro film 😬😬😬
I think this is the kind of movies that deserve the most to be labeled as “Terrible” in your videos Dazz.
I mean, you are a great UA-camr but I have a constructive critique: Sometimes you add movies that are underwhelming or flawed but not outright awful so I think you should add a separate category for those.
Ya he’s even mentioned this it’s just saying terrible gets more views
calling dazz a great youtuber and saying norm of the north deserves to be labeled terrible?
*L M A O*
agreed
I used to have UA-cam TV on my now
Broken Xbox one and my controller was broken right near the end of the movie when I was about to switch channels.
Let this be a lesson that this movie can hurt your re remote or controller due to cringe. This movie was good as a kid and nostalgia but it will eventually not age well and become the first cringe worthy movie ever
Where I live, the only reference to this movie upon it's release from a marketing standpoint was a tie-in for KFC meal toys. Oddly enough, that KFC closed and was demolished a month later.
You and 24 Frames of Nick HALF to do a collab review of all the sequels now.
Wait, Splash was formerly MoonScoop?
YOU MEAN THE COMPANY BEHIND CODE LYOKO MADE THIS SHIT?!
How does Norm's Dad look YOUNGER then Norm himself?
I remember I was in highschool when a friend of mine won two movie tickets for this movie and asked me to go with her. We hadn't even watched the trailer and just expected at least an AVERAGE movie. I already had my doubts since the movie poster didn't look promising and since I'm from latin america the animated movies in cinemas are ALWAYS dubbed, so the translated tittle read 'Norm and the invincibles' (yeah idk why either).
We were in the vip zone, watching this shit hole in 3D, I never felt so tortured in my life. I prayed for it to end and it only got worse and worse and worse. They gave my friend a SHIRT of this garbage, and yes she wore it.
When we finally got out of the movie I was in shock, realizing my afternoon was totally wasted and my friend just goes: "It was good right?"
I said yes because I really appreciated them but I was just screaming inside during the majority of it
I remember when they kept showing adds for this movie on TV. Quite the experience 😶😵
the fact younger childhood innocent me actually watched this....and didnt have anything bad to say
They really got an off brand great value version of Illymation 💀💀
I remember seeing Illymation and thinking "Why does she look like that girl"
This is forks scratching a plate as a movie
I remember watching this and not remember anything about it but that "Act real" scene with the Orca was actually really funny.
I remember randomly renting this movie at the red box with my mom back when it came out. A day later, we returned it and I never watched it again...
Well... a few months ago, I tried to rewatch it for literally 5 minutes and I gave up
7:25 "Meanwhile the Illymation Family" Ha that's a good reference.
Despite being not so great after watching it years later, I still watch it since it was my favorite movie as a kid. 😅
I watched it recently at the age of 20, and I'm going to be honest, this is one of the few movies I actually enjoy to watch and talk about. I wouldn't mind watching it a third time.
But sadly isn't available on any streaming service my family owns, i actually had to rent it online by 2 USD, worth every single cent.
I have it on dvd
I'm just mad that this garbage has a main character with the same name as one of my favorite characters in Phineas and Ferb lmao XD
Funny how he was calling that one character Illymation
Even funnier how the real Illymation once congratulated me when I typed in the livestream chat that I won a talent show on Discord
I've also found out one of the producers on Norm of the North was Mike Young the founder of Mike Young Productions and many people from the UK would remember him as the creator of Super Ted
when i first watched norm, i can't believe i actually quite enjoyed it. and i noticed animation errors like crazy.
i am the same kid who already knew avatar the last airbender was GOAT.
Not gonna lie, Although I know of it's infamouscy, like the Emoji Movie, I have a soft spot for this movie. It's a guilty pleasure.
Love your videos, Dazz. Keep up the great work.
Haha same. Is possibly because I love polar bears to begin with, but who cares, if I love polar bears then I'm on my right to like a movie with, well, a polar bear.
Ikr
Still waiting for that part 4 where Norm is attacking your family
0:07 i didnt even know this movie existed
The one movie where it's more coherent with the deleted scenes kept.
"They're going to use the Arctic to save the Arctic"
-Razzle, 2023
The Illymation comments just had me.
1:26 Elizabeth be looking like she stepped out of Minecraft!
1:59 Honestly that could have lead to part where young Norm goes rouge after being called a freak by his own species and an quite familiar human sees him, and since is a talking polar bear cub is alone, is adopted and he adapts to human culture, but never learning to hunt. But when he grows is returned back to the artic then the plot goes as usual.
Deep, touching and fixes some plot holes, it gets my seal of approval.
2:17 Wtf Splash, not even 10 minutes into the movie and TWO deleted scenes where actually good. You made this movie bad in purpose? You wanted the easy joke awards of Worst at ______?
Because it didn't worked.
How did they even plan to put a house in the artic anyways? It’s literally pure ice, if you tried to put a house there the ice would break, and if it somehow didn’t break it would still have no support(especially since the house and the beginning of the movie wasn’t attached underground, just sitting on top of the ice), they’d also have no energy or sewage system since again you can’t exactly run pipes through the ice, and energy would be crucial since how cold it is, yet they don’t have and way to get it aside from temporary generators, which are fine for short research trips, but for living there?
Also in the winter is literally not habitable, people will just die unless they have it as a vacation home, but if you’re that rich you might as well just get a vacation house somewhere else instead.
I heard that a UA-camr named Dumbsville died trying to watch this abomination.
Imagine living on arctic and paying 30 grand daily for groceries to be airdropped to your house
I have no idea why I used to think this was a good movie. Grab the pitch forks, and burn me.
I remember wanting to see this as a mentally disabled 17 year old girl…because a Taylor Swift song was in the background of the previews.
9:55 I'm pretty sure that wherever the hell they sampled that scream, id Software also used that for one of the Doom sounds
Hey Dazz! Love your videos :)
true horror story:
I saw this movie when it came out in theaters.
scary right?
“Can you please come out?”
“I think I just did”
Gay approved. The only joke in the movie that made me laugh
9:51
over-the-top Doom 1993 sound effects
20:56 oh yeah great way of keeping that barge connected to the back of the tugboat it's not like a wave could cause the Peg to fall out
Omg I remember seeing this in the theater when it came out. I swear for the longest time I thought it was a fever dream so I just repressed it. Thank you for making this.
Did that guy at 4:51 steal the: Oh poop line from despicable me?
The worst part about this movie is that I remember actually liking it as a kid 😭😭
I can't believe they casted illymation for the movie
I noticed that too!
Hi dazz I love your stuff
I remember I watched the movie when I was very young and don't remember anything about ( it except the fact that he went to Hollywoo )
- Norm could you please come out?
- I think I just did.
Just searched up what a Lemming is...
THIS MOVIE SUCKS BC LEMMINGS ARE REALLY CUTE IN REAL LIFE AND NORM OF THE NORTH MADE THEM FUCKING DEMONS
8:45 Dude character in the blue suit and reading glasses: It's Barak O - Leno😅🤣😂!!
The only thing I remember about this film is the weird ass dance scene in the middle of the movie for no reason.
I remember seeing ads for this EVERYWHERE
I watched this in theaters with my grandmother and I can say with 100% certainty that this is the worst movie we both have ever seen
Forget the dinner, *NO ONE CARES* - this line made the film 1000% better
I actually saw this in cinemas when I was 6, I barely remember it, but the only thing I remember is that I thought it was decent!
Jesus, in comparison the Bee Movie is a masterpiece of storytelling
I hated this movie just from the trailers, so I've never bothered to watch it.
The guy who produced code lyoko produced norm of the North
Good God Dazzreviews where have you been these 10 months
is there a way to view the music selections you use in your videos? there are quite a few tracks ive heard in the background that i want to look for but have no idea where to even begin my search.
Please do Luis and the Aliens next!
Whoever was behind this never got their money back even after 6 years.
it came out when I was turning 13 and it was garbage
Arghhh, I just found out Grandpa was Colm Meaney. I don't give a damn about Schneider, but what the hell is Colm Meaney doing there? He still has a career.
9:17 Now hear me out, but the even bigger boss with the grey hair on the screen looks kinda like Gilbert Huph from The Incredibles
20:50 also were they really going to make that tugboat tow that barge all the way to the Arctic I'm just saying it probably wouldn't have had much fuel to make it there
I only remember this film for the legendary Twitter account
Next,
‘The scene that changed Kung Fu Panda’.
Honestly, you did a better take on this messy film than the Nostalgia Critic, which is probably a bright side.
I didnt even know this movie existed until this vídeo.
my cousin has this on CD and i think she really used to like this movie.
i dont know what to think anymore.
Fun fact, this movie was released the day before my birthday and for my bday we watched it 💀
Hey Dazz! Have you ever warched ''The Legend of Hei''?
It's a wanderful movie!!
hey dazz was wondering if u cud cover The Bad Guys
i actually kinda liked it and it had some good jokes and an okay-ish plot
i mean i cud be really wrong i dunno
but it wud be gr8 to know ur opinions on it :D
when that cold brew hits
HI DAZZ COULD YOU DO THE SPIES IN DISGUISE MOVIE
I remember the DVD having five stars on the case. The budget must've been spent on that one review.
