@@Dan_Kanerva I mean, any vtuber's personality is exaggerated. That's part of the charm, playing into a niche.
That being said, the ones that survive usually slip out of the "act" pretty quickly- like a few months after they start. Look at Pekora for example, her debut was a qt shy little rabbit idol. And while I'm sure some of that shyness was due to genuine nervousness (first impressions are important), most of it was just an act. Just compare her debut/early streams to how she is now- a lot more chill and open about the fact that she likes funny chaos more than seiso stuff. That "new" persona has been with her for.. probably over 2 years now? (haven't properly counted so idk).
Lisa has kept the pure cinnamon bun "persona" for a whole year now, the only real change being that she admits to liking the company of people like Pippa, because edgy humor is funny. And, honestly, I think that's pretty damn true to how she is in real life. Obviously, "Lisa" is still a character, but one that is so heavily inspired by her real self that she is pretty damn pure (the purest of Phase, at the very least... though that title is kinda underselling her lol)
Also, I know this won't mean much coming from a stranger on the internet, but you have my most sincere condolences for your departed mother. Offer a prayer and take solace in the fact that she is in a better place.

In fairness to Lisa I do keep a diary. I bought a book bound in actual leather and a really nice fountain pen and I've been writing in it for about two years now.
