I think that Bond is probably aware of being a cold-blodded killer, he just told melina not to take revenge because he does not want her to turn into a ruthless killer like him.

Quite a gritty and hard core film, I like this one! My favourite bond film is Licence to kill, I like it for the same reason, it's gritty and darker. All the bond films have action in them but this one and licence to kill are some of my favourites! This is Roger Moors Licence to kill!

Certainly is: unlike the 1989 feature, 007 isn't a renegade, he's assigned by superiors to prevent a huge loss of life and has a strong group of allies in support - two of them with separate motives.
One of the best episodes in the series and it definitely has my vote.

Well said man because Bond's job is messy because he kills lots of people and even though he is prone to avenge people he cares about - it doesn't really stop him grieving from time to time. For example, his wife - Tracy :)

Had it not have been for Milos Columbo throwing that knife into Kristatos' back when he did, James would have finally met his end here. One of the biggest no-no's to surviving an action movie is to NEVER EVER let your guard down. Even if your opponent appears defeated, ALWAYS make sure that he or she STAYS defeated. Ah well, props to Columbo for saving the day anyway! :)

Julian Glover sure likes to appear in big movie franchises, doesn't he? Here he is in the twelfth James Bond movie, For Your Eyes Only as Aristole Kristatos. He also played General Maximilian Veers in the second Star Wars movie, The Empire Strikes Back, Walter Donovan in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and provided the voice of the spider Aragog in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I’m not sure what other movies he’s been in. Oh yeah, he has also made two unrelated appearances in Doctor Who. So I guess he likes to appear in big TV shows as well as movies.

He meant Kristatoes and Melina's, sure Melina wouldn't literally be dead but she would now be a hardened killer like Bond and Kristatoes were and the innocent side of her would be dead.

The reason for that, is that he doesn't want her to become him, Bond is cold as ice, killing to him is second nature, and he already dug those graves. When Tracy died, he died, he knew that he was never turning back, he didn't want anyone else going down the same dark path. It's like when a mob boss doesn't want his son going down the same path he did, he knows the darkness that it leads to best.

All the dummies that appear in John Glen's Bonds are hilarious...
    Apostise (falling dummy)
    Eric Kriegler (falling dummy)
    Gobinda (falling dummy)
Man in the blimp (falling dummy)
    Zorin (falling dummy?)
    Necros (falling dummy?)

Untrue with Gobinda and Necros : B.J Worth and Jake Lombard perform aerial stunts and doubles them respectively - no dummies used in either scene.

Isn't Aris short for Aristotle ? Or is it like Vladimir and Vlad, similar but totally different diminutives
