Isle of Sheppey, Kent, South East UK; 2005 Land rover Range Rover td6 HSE 3.0L diesel (BMW M57 straight 6 cylinder) auto. I bought it onGood Friday (7th of April 2023) & after the first 3 weeks of ownership I had to replace both the front suspension airbags & shocks, both rear airbags, drop links all around, brake pads (& pad wear sensors) all round, & I'm about to replace the mud shields on the back of the front brake discs & the driveshaft gaiters on the front. Still to replace are the lower tailgate support cables & new front bumper, parking sensor & wing (After a lorry reversed into it while parked (Before I bought it) & new indicator/sidelight units all round. It's what I call a driveable restoration project, lol.

Oh wow! Damn! That’s a lot of work in a short time.. good to get all the jobs done though. All going well since then?

I have the same model, year 2005 and engine TD6. Had it since 2018. The 3.0 diesel (BMW M57) is bulletproof! Change oil and filters every 5k miles. I would recommend to change all the oils now. Gearbox, diffs, Transfer box. It will drive 100% better. Take the inlet manifold off and deep clean it and the EGR value. Check vacuum to turbo change effect boost performance and MPG. Also the rear upper suspension bushes will be ready to be change shortly.

    Carlisle here. I have a L322 3.6TDV8 2010 vogue SE Black.
I’m the second owner 41k miles full LR service history.
Done Brakes and discs heater matrix hedgehog, CD repaired and new battery. Love it and will keep long term now as previously had Petrol P38.

Hey Carlisle! Wow! That’s low mileage !! Black as well ❤️ I love the P38 too.. I still haven’t scratched that itch. Maybe one day I’ll one of those … though a facelift RR is looking pretty tempting! 2010/2011 models

Liverpool here, got a 2009 L322 Westminster 3.6 TDV8! Love it. Had 2 TD6 L322’s previously an 03 and then an 05! The TDV8 is they way to go if you want an upgrade!

Hey Liverpool! Oh the Westminster’s are very nice! Have they got a special spec on them? Sounds like a good upgrade for me though

@@ThatsClassiccars yeah they come with abit more than a Vogue SE! But probably not quite as good as an autobiography!
I’d say the 06-09 is the best of the bunch as the early 02-05 can be abit unreliable with the electronics! And then late 09-12 is abit too Chelsea tractor for me! But all can have problems it’s just personal preference!

Also the Land Rover logo on the entertainment system is more than likely related to faulted Nokia Bluetooth module rear left side compartment in boot. Caused by water ingress on the connectors. It’s a simple replacement. If you go to salvage years and pick up a modern version (XVJ500045) it will sort the entertainment system to work and it will also fix an issue with connecting/pairing your newer mobile phone (it will pair every time you get in car.. instead of you having to pair it manually every time).
