Little remote is a fuel burning heater. We never got those in the States.
That remote is for a little heater that you can program from the stereo or use the remote to come on and heat the car up thus making it nice and toasty and defrosted in the winter months. Worth their weight in gold if it works.
That is very cool! Probably an expensive extra back in the day. I’d love to get that working. I love a pre heater in a car, nothing like it on a winters day.. though another place to suck life out of the battery 😂
I have 2006 TD6 (M57 engine). You need to Check the air tank as well.. they rust at this age and don’t retain stored air. This causes the air compressor (AMK) to work hard and you end up wearing it out very quickly. I learned from experience and 2 compressors later!

@@ThatsClassiccars fill a kitchen spray bottle up with soapy water get underneath and spray the air connector and around the the tank. You will see bubbles if it’s leaking.
Or if you have scan tool check the gallery pressure in live data that will also show if it’s holding pressure or not which indicate a leak.
