Thank you Trevor for bringing this true legend of music and important messages that united South Africa during the challenging times of Apartheid. I met her went she performed at a wedding in Harare at Sheraton Hotel (now Rainbow Towers) in 1986. I was hooked on her music since then.
I went to Nandos a week ago in Melbourne and found them playing Umqombothi! .That tells a story about how great Machaka is. Great work Trevor for bringing her to your show.
Yvonne is such a humble and eloquent lady. What an amazing session, grew up listening to her songs where we didnt know the words we created our own e.g. mirai vadriver matsika mwana 😀. Thank you Trevor and Team, I am truly enjoying the conversations.
"We cannot afford to be remote control parents..!" Took that one down, hopefully one day I'll be a better father. We continue to learn Malume Trevor. Qhubeka njalo with your conversations. Who's the fireman who answered Yvonne's I'M BURNING UP telephone call ("...be cool honey, what's your address..?") when she wanted to be saved? Hahahaha
Poignant issues facing Africa on malaria; inspiring take on legacy, the youth and WomanRadio. Thanks Mama. Good choice of the first guest of the South Africa series. The ConvoWithChiefFelixNdiweni on 13 Dec 2019 remains one of the best for me. What an eloquent man interviewed by an equally insightful anchor. Well done, Mr Ncube!
Wow wow, Princess of Africa in the house. Back in the days when music was still music. She defines beauty for me. Africa's finest. Rare breed. It saddens me to realize we don't have her kind anymore in the music industry, only left with noise makers.
Wow! One of your best guests Mukoma Trevor! For many of us her music was our first contact with international music and we are still attached to it. I am deeply touched by the advice on not sitting down and feeling sorry for yourself after making a mistake. And lastly, the R300 coffin resonates with my thinking about how one should go...indeed life is for the living!
Very inspirational; thank you Trevor for bringing us Africa's finest. Next time she come through, please ask her how the song 'Kana Uchema', a Shona song, came about . . .
I am in love with a DJ! An all time favourite which brings back fond memories of my childhood. And I am still in love with sis Yvonne. Thank you Mr Ncube. Thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Thank you so much Trevor for this show. You are doing a great job indeed in bringing these stories in their truest context. The more I listen to them the more I realise that I do not know a lot. Please keep crossing the boarders and get us those stories which can enrich our lives. Get hold of people with real stories where we can borrow a leaf from, those whose journey that they have travelled has very few if not little missing pages in their history.God bless you and the entire team
The struggle was real!I feel you Trevor when you made reference of you using peanut butter oil cuz you had no vaseline.Totally relate with Yvone’s story as well.Same here , grew up in the rural areas .Had to use the same and at times lubricating grease and i do remember using a certain fruit(damba)’s juice as a lotion-but that did not deter me from dreaming!I can safely say I am a successful global citizen as i write!Thank you for these mentorship plartforms sir!
Truly look forward to these conversations, Mr Trevor. I always glean a number of nuggets from each episode, and I am truly excited for the turn in which you've taken this show: to feature remarkable, international, hard-working men and women as well.

It's always heart warming to hear those gems at Nandos
I was in Nando’s in Brighton (UK) they where playing uVulindlela. I noticed they do play west African music mostly.
When I was working for Nandos in 2004 all Nandos in Australia added Oliver Mtukudzi and other African giants on their playlist.
