@@AnInkGuy I can only assume you have yet to locate it yourself, but thank you for documenting the journey please don't stop for the sake of all of us here.
I am glad that someone posted a link to your channel on reddit today. I certainly enjoy all the data that you show. My inter scientist loves it. This is the ink that I use only to write notes to my daughter. She loves the color so it works for me. I love how well it behaves for me.
Adam, I so enjoy this boring, dark, work-appropriate ink. The more I use it, the more I enjoy it. I am not a fan of purple ink at all, and this one does it for me. I write pages and pages with it. I haven’t tried to clean it out of a pen, though, as I keep it in a dedicated eyedroppered demonstrator.
It makes sense that it dries quickly. I find it's almost always the highly saturated inks that dry out quickly on the nib, etc. Maybe because there's proportionally less liquid in it because there's so much more in the way of dye particles?
I recently realized how to find comments I haven't answered, I really think if you take the time to comment to me you deserve an answer. I haven't tested saturation but I do wonder if ink saturation has something to do with dry times.
Ah, I was hoping this one might be a good sub for Lamy Dark Lilac, but the lack of shading makes it a poor replacement. Thanks for saving me the cost of a sample.

Nice review. BTW I had no issue at all cleaning this ink from my pen, it came out quickly and completely. I am with you, this purple is not quite right for me. I got a huge bottle of it on super-duper sale from Birmingham Pens - because it cost only about what 2 samples would cost. I really do like the qualities of Diamine inks. This color though... I prefer purples on the aubergine side, this is like an Easter egg color when you write with it. (At the same time I got a huge bottle of Diamine Prussian Blue, which I like a lot, so you win a few you lose a few). I want to give this ink another try - but after seeing your review, I think my first impression was probably right...
At least the big bottle was super cheap. Diamine has so many good inks I really cannot complain about the ones I don't care for. And that's the thing, I don't care for this, it is a good ink for anyone that likes this kind of purple. Prussian blue is a very nice color. Win.
It’s great to know that you were able to clean it out of your pen easily. I keep my Imperial Purple in an eyedropper demonstrator, and I haven’t bothered to try to clean it out, yet. Now that I know that it can be cleaned easily, I will have the courage to try the same ink in another one of my pens.
Sometimes if you change the nib, the quality of the color ink changes, too. If you decide that you want to give this ink another chance, maybe try it with an extra-fine nib. The purple suddenly becomes darker. I don’t like a page of brighter purple ink, but this produces a page of darker, muted purple that I enjoy very much,
That is why I almost always try inks as a sample before I purchase a bottle. I have had a ton of inks that just weren't what I had expected or were just a little off.
@@AnInkGuy That's what I should have done because I already have a perfectly fine purple ink: Waterman Tender Purple. Oh well, I'll eventually use it all.
Dammit, I've got a new bad habit. :) This is one of my favourite purples along with Waterman and Monteverde Amethyst. Today I inked up a Gravitas Entry level with a medium Yowo nib and set to make my notes. With this wet nib it was a tad too dark for my taste, today. So I added a few drops of water straight into the converter with a syringe and it's just the shade I felt like. Usually I would tune the nib a little dryer, but I can't keep tuning a nib every time I change the ink. This vlog is quite an ink journey. Do I need to say some 'Hail Inkies' of something?
A couple drops to the a full converter is a great way when it gives you exactly what you want. And bad habits that don't bother anyone or hurt you can't be that bad, lol.
Huh... weird, I have this ink and it gives me a lot of golden sheen when I put a lot of it down with a wet pen. I also get some shading with a flex. I agree that this is a T H I C K ink though, but unlike Diamine Majestic Blue, this one doesn't smear by looking at it the wrong way, and it dries quickly and stays there. Good ink for a lefty like me.
I should probably change up the pens used for the writing samples.... some day. This might let me see an ink from a wet pen and a dry pen. Maybe then I would have seen the sheen you get.
I like the color of the ink in the video, but was it very difficult to clean the pen? Another question is how do you know the viscosity? Do you measure it yourself?
Here are the Direct links to the complement ink that I think looks best with this:

As long as you make sure to write your daughter a note daily. Little things make all the difference.

Good to know! The very dark purples cage the way you look at the color family, lol.
This was informative and detailed review. Like the dry sense of humour. Again hats off for the review of an ink that I have and like. 😲
