Everglades National Park Turns 75

On December 6th 1947, President Harry S. Truman addressed a crowd in Everglades City about the conservation and dedication of Everglades National Park. Although the Park is 75 years old, it’s still brand new. You can expect to see something different every time you visit because the ecosystem is so dynamic and restoration efforts are ongoing. Whether it's wet or dry season, clear blue skies in winter or billowy clouds in summer, the 'glades are constantly changing! A rededication ceremony was held to commemorate this milestone.
