well i haven't read much this year but i will have to say my fav so far has to be divergent by veronica roth book one is so soooooo goooood not 2 or 3 but one i can't tell you how much i loved this i finish it in 5 days it was just so amazing its a dystopian world with factions and a preaty good romance if i am being honest and its 14+ and dont worry i know your 17 i just wanted to add it in like you do witch i love by the way so ya thats what i have read this year

Thanks for this video Maya!! really needed this, I'm trying to find more YA books and I just started reading The Inheritance Games and so far I'm loving it. I do have a question though, how clean is Caraval? (What I mean by clean is, how much swearing is in it if there is any, and is there any weird romance scenes in it)
hi! I don't remember there to be any swearing, and the romance stays PG-13 throughout (I haven't read the rest of the series so I'm not sure about them though). the triggery thing that stood out most to me was the violence, it was a bit dark in that area. overall it's really fun and I think most 13/14 year olds would be fine with it! leaning closer to the 14+ age range tho 🤷♀️

Omg you NEED to finish the rest of the Legend series
maya another very good YA mystery book if you want to get into the genre is the naturals series. its also written by jennifer lyne barnes (author of inheritance games). its a bit more dark and a tad creepy but so fast paced and youll get attached to the characters ( i sure did)

Hi Maya! Glad to see that you posted, love your vids ❤❤ and since you've read kotlc i wanted to ask if its worth it coz i've heard it has a lot of love triangles and is kinda cliche in the start so like is it good enough especially for 13+

I absolutely love Keeper of the Lost Cities. It is tied with Harry Potter for my favorite books of all time, and it is totally worth it. I wouldn't call them cliché, i mean, there is a triangle thing, but that doesn't really come in untill the later books. (which at that point your too invested to stop) and if you've heard any kotlc fan talk you'll know that Keefe Scensen if the fandoms favorite person ever, like their connection is so strong it hurts, (I literally cried at the end of the novella) ❤ he's at the top of my list, (higher than Peeta Melark) the books do get pretty dark as the story goes but the community is amazing. And the CLIF HANGERS, the first three don't have one but the fourth-SOBBIN'. You will internaly scream at Shannon Messenger for it and have a mental breakdown, but in the best possible way 🫶 they are also surprisingly funny, considering the massive fantasy world its set in and I really hope whoever you are, Random Strager on the Internet, deside to give the books a shot. Totally worth it.

I definitely recommend the book Starfish for your next video but it’s not really a teen book it’s more of a 9-12 book

I had an issue with connecting to the red queen book too but the end of it was pretty good but then I read the second book and in was so mad and I dnf'd the series bc they killed off shade.💀 Why? Idk but he was such a a wholesome character.
