@@gummy5862 Let me preface by saying Im an independent. Part of the liberal platform is looking down on southerners. I find it strange because for people from other countries, liberals are ready to support their cultures; however, for southerners, they view it as backwards. I like Dolly because she loves being southern, as she should. No culture is perfect but to try to force people to be ashamed of where they came from is wrong.
I’m from the south and I don’t fully agree with that. I think part of it is ignorance and not being exposed to other things. Kids don’t see things growing in gardens or see animals raised for meat. When I was in elementary school there were kids in my class who were stunned to find out pickles are cucumbers. It wasn’t that they were elite, they just didn’t know. My parents neighbors are Australian. Until they met my dad and heard him talk they had no clue what was meant by the Beverly Hillbillies saying cement pond. They’d never heard cement called SEE-ment. I think it’s pretty common for people to think the stuff on BH was just made up because it’s not something they’ve experienced. If BH talked about making a dish called brains n eggs or fish roe and eggs people would’ve assumed it was made up for the show. I’ve eaten both. Same with turtle stew.
I’m from Brazil and of course you don’t know much about Dolly, but every time I see her interviews and everything he has done for community, I grow in admiration. She’s so smooth with her words and she replies insults with so much power and kindness. What a great woman!
He’s being totally classless about this. Classless. It’s really not funny at all. Most of us live today because our ancestors caught/trapped/hunted food to keep their families alive; It’s what we do now. When crops failed, drought hit, or unseasonable storms tore through and destroyed the fields and Orchards of food, That’s what people did. That’s what people do now. Has the man never gone fishing in his whole life? Is other peoples’ poverty a joke to him?
Dolly Parton has been a lady that I can remember since I was born in 19th. Century , I will stand behind whatever she says bcuz she knows best as the Godmother of Destiny Hope Cyrus.
Love ❤️ Dolly!!!! She's as lovely as always. She' ihas the biggest....heart and soul.Sense of humor ♥️ smart as a whip and as down 2 earth as ever. Thank-you
My dad’s family was super country and big family. It’s comforting and I’m so grateful and for Dolly too. She makes me want to be a better person. WWJD and Dolly too😊❤
I've never ate squirrel but I see nothing wrong with it. I mean they eat acorns and stuff from nature so that can't be bad. My dad said when he and his brothers were kids they would camp in the woods all summer long living off the land. Whatever they could catch squirrel, rabbit fish etc.
My mom traded her car for a chest freezer of meat from a hunter when I was a kid. I have tried to always provided for my kids so they wouldn’t know hunger.
My mom was from the foothills of Kentucky. You still foraged for your food. There's a plant most people see as a nuisance weed, but you cqn eat the young leaves like spinach or the seeds can be ground up to make a flour with. So one day we picked a bunch of the leaves to go with dinner. My brother told his friend we had "weeds" for dinner. His momma heard and quickly called my mom to ask " is everything was ok?" . 😆 Yup, just enjoying what nature naturally provides!
There was a weed my mother's family picked that they called polk. Remember Elvis's song Polk Salad Annie? There was a cress also that was picked. She and I used to take walks and she would show me all sorts of things in nature. Also a weed they called rabbit tobacco that they crumbled after it dried out and rolled a cigarette.
My grandmother grew up in a farm in Mississippi! She’d have to eat Raccon, Squirrel, Rabbit and things like that too! She made it sound so delicious when her mom would had make it! Times were different back then and people had less opportunity or were it’s poor. She only recently told me her friend was allowed by her parents to be abused by a White man for money. Also she apparently picked cotton too!
People are taking this too serious, he’s a comedian, he’s just keeping his show light hearted as usual while still being respectful. If you watch again you’ll realize he didn’t do anything wrong. Conan is actually a very nice person, just like our queen Dolly 💗

He's neither. He's an effing comedian, and no one's a better sport than Dolly.
I've learned not to judge people by what they eat and I certainly don't make fun of their food. I've been seeing people eating out of trash cans lately. We do what we can to survive
Dolly is just gold..!! She's being honest about living in hard times.. no need to make fun of it...
I just love Dolly Parton I would give my left arm to hear her sing, she’s such a beautiful woman and her voice is just spectacular. Everything about you Dolly is beautiful ❤💕💕💕💕💕❌⭕️💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Dolly is still kind & wonderful! Tenn fires she helped victims out. Think $1,000 each prob more for DOLLYWOOD employees. So humble!💜🙏💞
I would loooooove to work at Dollywood.
Beverly Hillbillies? I think I see your elitism is showing.
It’s a show, but yeah it’s kinda awkward to say that to somebody who lived in the Deep South.
@@nuavecmoi Classism is okay when it’s poor whites
His jokes about this but she handles it with grace as always
Bro didn't even let her speak.

I adore Ms Dolly ❣️ I believe that if it's food for you then I'm happy for you 😁
" that's what you do, you either eat or you go hungry" Dolly is always so candid about her childhood.
I love her. She's wonderful. Such a talented artist, but also quite kind and thoughtful. She's just a lovely person.
Possums are not rats. Show some respect to our marsupial friend that mack daddy and daddy macks ticks out of our life.
His jokes about this but she handles it with grace as always
Possums eat Carrion. Squirrels are actually pretty good rabbit is quite good But I would never eat possible unless I was truly starving.
@@davidfryer9218 They do not eat carrion. They might snack on some veggies in a compost but not rotten/dead food sources.
@@Ridd333 Possums do eat Caren and Google it if you don't believe me.
@@davidfryer9218 They will eat carrion. It is not their first meal of choice however.
Dolly Parton has been a lady that I can remember since I was born in 19th. Century , I will stand behind whatever she says bcuz she knows best as the Godmother of Destiny Hope Cyrus.
We ate rabbit and squirrel growing up in ky. I’m 27 and I’ve had it many times. Love you dolly thank you for being a modern pioneer.
He's so out of touch and privileged! Bless Dolly for acknowledging and sharing her childhood and memories.
Tbh squirrel is probably the most organic food you can eat
Love you Dolly. Always stayed true to who you are
Dolly is a very smart and classy person. She has what a lot of people who grew up ''well to do'' , do not have, integrity and goodness in her heart.
He's a smart ass. She is full of class.
Lord never knew she would be seen in short wig
Still Stunning.
I love long hair on both sexes but that style is cuteon DP!
She still beautiful 😍 I love her voice 🥰
Dolly is my girl. I love her. ❤ Talented. Wise. Authentic. Smart. Does her own thing.
country people it’s normal life style
Connan, you are really great at interrupting when someone is talking which is why I didn't finish watching the video.
His jokes about this but she handles it with grace as always
Love ❤️ Dolly!!!! She's as lovely as always. She' ihas the biggest....heart and soul.Sense of humor ♥️ smart as a whip and as down 2 earth as ever. Thank-you
My dad’s family was super country and big family. It’s comforting and I’m so grateful and for Dolly too. She makes me want to be a better person. WWJD and Dolly too😊❤
You guys know Conan is a comedian? Right? It's his job to make jokes. He doesn't mean any disrespect.
Love you Dolly 🙏🤗💖
God Bless You ♥
Dolly is always graceful. She perfected grace.
Reminds me of when I read "to kill a mockingbird". Because it's based during the depression, one of the kids mentions eating squirrel
My family is from the south. I've had possum. It's disgusting. I've had squirrel, rabbit and gator too. I like rabbit but I love gator!!!!!
God Bless You. Amen!!!
If anyone is interested in what squirrel tastes like. It tastes like the leg of a Turkey.
Wow that's useful information
I've never ate squirrel but I see nothing wrong with it. I mean they eat acorns and stuff from nature so that can't be bad. My dad said when he and his brothers were kids they would camp in the woods all summer long living off the land. Whatever they could catch squirrel, rabbit fish etc.
Dolly, she's a treasure.
Love You Dolly. keep em in check momma 👏 👏
i’m from louisiana, it’s funny seeing someone thinking eating squirrel is weird
Yum Yum
They eat S Car Go? I wouldn’t eat snails
His jokes about this but she handles it with grace as always
God Bless You.Amen!
My mom traded her car for a chest freezer of meat from a hunter when I was a kid. I have tried to always provided for my kids so they wouldn’t know hunger.
She is a wonderful mother. You too ♥
My mom was from the foothills of Kentucky.
I love her even more , it’s a hard thing to say to millions of people ..
My grandmother grew up in a farm in Mississippi! She’d have to eat Raccon, Squirrel, Rabbit and things like that too! She made it sound so delicious when her mom would had make it! Times were different back then and people had less opportunity or were it’s poor. She only recently told
me her friend was allowed by her parents to be abused by a White man for money. Also she apparently picked cotton too!
He’s far too old to possess this level of ignorance.🤦🏾♀️ Sidenote: Dolly always looks so good, this outfit is fire 🔥
She's So Beautiful 😍 !!! She came from the woods. Her life was not something. That most people would understand !!!! God Bless Her Soul 🙏❤ !!!!
As an adult I really love Dolly Partons authenticity and natural charm. She’s right in the mountains we hunt to eat or we starve.
People are taking this too serious, he’s a comedian, he’s just keeping his show light hearted as usual while still being respectful. If you watch again you’ll realize he didn’t do anything wrong. Conan is actually a very nice person, just like our queen Dolly 💗
