Colin Cowherd couple weeks ago you were talking about how soft the Warriors especially after they lost Kevin Durant because you claimed, and I'm paraphrasing here, that he was their only tonight defensive guy and the Warriors were set up to lose. don't say you were right about the Warriors changing. you didn't say that, you specifically said they would get worse. instead of admitting you were wrong you play it like you were right about them changing regardless. obviously a team is gonna change when they lose a player of that caliber.

Y'all are trippin Last year they didnt have bogut and green. If they were healthy it would have been back to back. However 2015 cavs were obviously the better team. So it all worked out in the end. 2 of the best team both got championship.

What Kristine said is probably the most truth out of this entire bit. The Warriors are not a better team with Durant out. No one who watches basketball even a bit would say that McCaw/Livingston/Iguodala/Barnes equate to anything near what Kevin Durant brings to the table. The reason why we're riding this 9 game wave is because of resurgence of that quiet swagger not just within Curry but within everyone 1-15 on the roster. Its great to see that everyone has caught a mental second wind. When a squad loses arguably their #1 option, everyone is going to look themselves in the mirror and say "hey, why not me? why can't I be the player to make up this deficit? If I just step up to the table then I can make this loss hurt a little less" and that is what we see occurring here. We see it happening with Curry again but more so with Iggy. I don't think I've seen Iggy play with this type of confidence on offense for the entirety of his career as a Warrior and probably even his last season as a Nugget. It has been a joy to watch this Warrior team play these last couple of weeks. The defensive rotations and switches have been crispier than ever. Really though, this 9-0 has been about 98.7% defense. Which is what scares me a bit. KD will for sure bring the offense at a high level but with a bum knee, I'm more worried about his defensive sliding and movement. Hoping Kerr and staff know how to limit his minutes and to keep him off the court during what are obvious defensive games as we move forward towards the early playoffs.
Same here, what worries me the most right now, is when KD comes back, the defensive aspect of his game will be a focal point for me to watch. Especially since it's playoff backetball where everyone's playing a notch higher on intensity. If his knee can keep up to pressure all throughout the playoff, then gsw should feel comfortable. But, that's the best scenario. I'm just hoping everyone's healthy, that's my biggest wish rn.
danslugs Curry has the tendency to step-back when KD's around. But when KD got injured, Curry had all the freedom with the obligation of carrying the team. Not holding back and not making room for KD to shine. I think KD should be the one adjusting to Curry and to his role to the system, not the either way around.
Vinsmoke Sanji I think they are adjusting to each other, Steph is so great and KD because of his skill set, length and Athleticism can do a bit more for the team on both ends against anyone in the league. Before Christmas it was all about integrating KD & I think Steve Kerr ran the plays through him & they had problems closing games but KD knows it's Steph's team & he said so in an interview, they go as Steph goes. He wants Steph to be as aggressive as he was last year and with the way they move the ball KD will always find a way to score. It's scary what they will look when everyone is fully integrated & healthy. Very close to unbeatable I believe. Major props to Klay He has been so amazing the past 10 games.

And this is with a completely different bench that downgraded compared to last years 😂 Steph, Klay, Draymond and Iggy. You gotta give it up to them.

Kay Stone yea they hate more depth last year but this years bench players are more solid for golden state there bench players can be starters for other teams and average 15 to 20 ppg
David West is an upgrade over Speights and Mcgee is a huge upgrade over Ezeli. New and improved Ian Clark gives better scoring off the bench than Barbosa. Barnes is 10x better than Rush
Don't forget McCaw dropped 30 points in one of the games that Klay and Steph sat out. Their bench is hella tough.
Dont let this 9 game winning streak distract you from the fact that Colin will eat a hot dog if LeBron spit on it first.

Colin is the ultimate near-sighted sports fan. Steph plays bad in the Finals so he must not be all that great. The Warriors struggle for a few games they must be overrated. And now... quite the opposite because they won a few games in a row. Totally inconsistent to the point that nothing he says should be taken with any weight. Of course he's ok with being wrong. He ought to be used to it by now.

Good LORD!!! It's about TIME somebody brought up Andrew Bogut in last year's finals! Everybody wants to pretend he made no difference so they can say Lebron was so magnificent bringing the Cavs back. Fact of the matter is in the first 4 games Cavs shot around 52% inside the paint. Last 3 with Bogut out, they shot over 70%. Why is that you ask? Well, most of these analysts love talking about how the series changed when Lebron started going to the post. No Bogut in the paint, easy buckets in the post for Lebron and anybody else who wants a piece.

In KDs place, Matt Barnes added toughness, defense and ran with the offense decently. Matt Barnes is the one surprise signing and should get more time in the rotation.

When it comes to the Warriors, Colin changes his mind to fit his narrative about the Warriors in the moment because he doesn't like them. He prefers the Cavs to win the chip.
The Warriors are deadly without KD. They proved that last year. HOWEVER, when it comes down to the playoffs and things get tight, the Warriors need someone on their team like KD who can get his own shot in crutch time and is someone the opposing team can't guard.
KD didn't just add a layer that the Warriors were filled to the brim with. He added much more than that on the offense and defensive end. Yes he can shoot 3's, but he can also post up. Very important in the finals when the game slows down. He provides that 7'6 wingspan on the defensive end. Add him, draymond and the length of Javale on the frontline, who needs Bogut.

You can't under state how important team chemistry is. The way they played last night looked way better than when Durant is in there. It is a bizarre thing to say but its true. He should be on the Celtics!

Actually, KD added a layer they were missing in the finals. With Steph injured, they couldn't spread the Defense out and when crunch time came with a more compact defense, they didn't have a guy to dump the ball too and just bull his way to the basket or draw a foul. They can get layups and get to the rim, but they didn't have a guy who can just religiously get to the line in the halfcourt if he decides to. KD has been able to do that for years.
Warriors are an all time great regular season team without Kevin Durant. They will be an all time great team in the postseason WITH Kevin Durant.
Layer is important, but if you have a team with fire power of Warriors level, It does not really matter
The reason to like golden state isn't because of the great individuals, no player on that team- durant included, is as gifted as Lebrun. Each has their own flaw and weakness.
But the selflessness and excellent offensive flow, defensive effort is really a joy to watch. I have come to believe that this team and system can be the new spurs- a dominating franchise that may cultivate its own stars and provide competitive if not overwhelmingly strong basketball for years to come.
There won't be any chemistry issue with or without KD, the environment is so healthy that only good thing will come out of it.

Durant was the greatest threat to GSW the previous year. see how OKC exhausted the warriors to the point that they were all gassed out during the finals. By taking Durant to GSW side, they eliminated the only threat they had... and more to that... they added a firepower in KD.

They're better defensively because they realized that without KD, they don't have the offensive firepower to sleepwalk through regular season games, score 145 points, and win without defending. They are playing different basketball, getting role players more involved defensively because that is what they need to do to win. With KD, in the playoffs when they defend this way they will be a much better team.

Colin contradicts himself so often. When the warriors lost 3 games he said 'without KD they lack toughness' and now he's saying KD didn't add toughness.
The only thing that can throw them off is if KD comes back and is cold as ice. Besides that I don't think any team could beat them in 7.
GS has been playing very well but to say they're better without KD is short sighted and kinda ridiculous. GS still has flaws and KD helps improve their two major keys to them winning a championship: rebounding and getting to the free throw line. As great as they are, KD makes them that much better.

I'm going to sound crazy but I'm going to say it. KD needs to be on the bench at the start of every game. Klay, Steph, and Draymond's chemistry is just too good to interfere and disrupt. Only when they aren't really on the same note, not in rhythm, you put KD in because he will be able to score and bring in his own rhythm. Also, if Klay, Steph, or Draymond get injured, they have a superstar ready to go opposed to losing a superstar. I'd take my chances with having 3 superstars with a backup ready to go opposed to just going all out with all 4 superstars at once with the potential to lose one.

Whoever says it's a chemistry thing is just hoping the Warriors to be a really confused team in the playoffs. It's definately individually confidence and talent, like Kristine said, and if Durant returns at 100% this team will be really scary to play against. I still think Spurs will be the NBA champion tough, and I'm not a Spurs fan.

Forget all the bad teams they beat in their 12-0 win streak. Only take good teams into consideration. All the good teams gave them a tough time. They did lose but the scores were pretty close throughout the game. Play offs are different than regular season. Teams are trying their best. Players have more motivations and day after day u are going up against the best teams in the NBA. They way the warriors played in the 12-0 run is amazing but they can't go into the playoffs where they are not the best with a huge margin. This is why they need KD. If Steph or Klay's shots ain't falling the team is pretty close to losing those days and that's exactly why they need another superstar. Another person to depend on

I'm really trying to understand everyone's problem here with Colin changing his position. That's what sports analysts do. They change their minds as the nba standings and evidence change. Would it have been better if he kept saying that they were a bad team that had no shot at a title despite how well they've been doing recently? He admitted he was incorrect in his first statement so that shows humility.
Two weeks ago when they lost like 3 straight (they're worst stretch in 3 years--which is a laughably good bad stretch) Colin acted like the sky was falling, that the Warriors were only a 3 point shooting team that couldn't do anything else, a gimmick that had been exposed, with a star in Steph that was suddenly an overrated bum. Now the Warriors win 9 straight and suddenly the Warriors are better without KD. Cowherd just makes up BS as he goes along and when he's proven completely wrong and looks like an idiot he says, oh well I was never trying to be right to begin with. I was making an observation in the moment. Oh, and let's forget about how Cowherd is constantly making excuse after excuse for LeBron even though the Cavs have looked awful over the last month. But somehow none of that is LeBron's fault, whereas Steph is immediately a bum is GS loses 2 or 3 games. His entire show is a joke.
