    I have to say mate, I'm, really enjoying watching your videos. You have a nice manageable rig, and a calm workflow. Yeah, some shows are more hectic than others. I use the Midas MR18 version, but I'm still running a network cable back to my control laptop. I think next year I might finally move to using wi-fi for control. Keep up the great work! Regards from Australia. ps, love that ramp you have on the van, brilliant piece of kit.

    My band was using those plastic 12" powered tops. I think they sound harsh at volume. I convinced the band try my old school wood, passive 15"s from Yamaha and a Crown amp. So smooth and clear. Now I get to bring them to every gig😅

    Don't stop with these videos mate. This type of content is really lacking on UA-cam at the moment. A lot of the people tuning in will be DJ's and musicians with gear acquisition syndrome wanting to spend 50K on equipment unnecessarily🙋😂 try and sneek a few pro tips in there and will all keep coming back. Nice work.

    Man, I can't get over how professional your set-up is. I'm in a couple of different bands and I'm essentially the only one that knows how to run sound/run a mixer so I have to set up everything. Our stages always look like a spaghetti mess haha.
    Also, one of my bands is trying to buy a new set of PA speakers, I was recommended the EV ZLX series and saw that you're using them here! Do you use a 12s or a 15s with the subs? What would be your recommendation for a 6 piece classic rock band that typically plays to a couple hundred people? We're not trying to spend a TON of money and have considered going a cheaper route with Harbinger or Mackie, but the EVs are superior quality. Do you think they're worth it?
    Cheers and keep the vids coming!

    • @abrahammusicm5544
      @abrahammusicm5544 7 місяців тому

      I wouldn’t reccomend mackies speakers.

    • @youtubak777
      @youtubak777 7 місяців тому

      Definitely avoid Harbinger or Mackie, the ZLXs are very good, but I really don't think that even with subs they're adequate to do a rock band for couple hundred. Up to 100ish people, probably a good choice. For any more, I'd go with at least the RCF Art 945-As, if you're really on a budget and have subs, then RCF Art 932-As. They're more expensive but COMPLETELY worth it! I think these are the best sounding speakers in their price range (and maybe even a class higher). And not by a bit... They just wipe the floor with everything in this range. And they can push quite a crowd!
      If you'd like to stay with EV, I'd go with the EKX line tho. But honestly, they are getting to the price of the RCFs, which sound way better...

    • @soundman1402
      @soundman1402 2 місяці тому

      I would look at EV EKX or, ideally, ETX speakers. I use the ETX-12Ps which offer excellent sound and clarity. I've also used the EKX speakers which are lighter weight and also sound clean. A friend of mine has the ZLX and found they didn't get loud enough for some of his larger gigs. Though the plastic boxes like ZLX are nice and lightweight, the wood boxes sound better. You should also consider QSC K12.2. I think ETX sounds better, but the K12.2 is quite a bit cheaper and sounds decent. Better yet, though, hire a pro sound company for these large gigs.

      So, the groom built a "mashup playlist", which I was skeptical about, but he did a really good job surprisingly. All the tracks were level matched and hovered around -19 to -16dB which I happy with! I just got to chill all night.
