Oh wow! What a great idea!!! No sugar deserts!!! My husband knew recently that he is diabetic and he loves sweets! He will be happy 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳!!! Thank you Gretchen ❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘
Love that you're experimenting with sugar substitutes and passing on your successful recipe creations. You're the best UA-cam vegan cook ever! This looks so good, but I'm scared of stevias after taste or is it under or over taste. I'll go with monk fruit it has a cool sweetness. But again, your working out some of your delicious recipes with sugar substitutes is fantastic, welcome, and undoubtedly delicious.
Thank you! Yes I agree Stevia is just, *bleck* although I did use it in the chocolate icing & it was un noticeable probably because I didn't use that much. I have more sugar free & unrefined sugar free recipes coming too! I have to balance it all with the regular bakes though!
This cake looks a lot like a german classic, the Donauwelle (Donau (a river) wave). It's a chocolate and vanilla swirled cake base with cherries on top (baked together). A whip cream layer and a dark chocolate layer lastly. I really suggest this cake, one of my favourites! 😁🤤🍰
My favorite options for sugar free baking/sugar substitutes are xylitol, allulose and monk fruit. I can tolerate some erythritol but it cannot be more than like 15g per serving. It is one that messes with my digestion and gives bloating and all that. Stevia is ok if it is minimal and mixed with something else otherwise the taste is way off. I could say more about all of this, but I could also write a book on this topic.
It'll have a sweet flavor profile, yup! The sugar free alternative still gives us that sweet taste, as most of the sweeteners work 1 to 1 as a replacement.

That looks beautiful
Yummy
I’m waiting for my slice🤣 it looks delicious!
Cool I love the twist. . . I'm actually vegan with no sugar, no salt and no oils so I'm happy for this recipe. Is it sweet ? I still like it sweet.

I was baking with Lankanto for a friend and just tasting (while trying to adapt different recipes for her ) gave me a horrible MSG type headache.
Oooh really?? Good information!
You’re a Genius 😍! I will stick to sugar for me but I really appreciate having your recipes for people on special diets! Thx!
Oh no. That's terrible. Thank you for sharing this though. Are you prone to migraines?
I've never even heard of an MSG headache 😕 I don't use MSG though so thats probably why 🤔
Thanks for sharing
Some types of Stevia sweetener really upsets my stomach
