FPV Chases a FMS Olympus flown with a new Tandem x20s

- The F3A Olympus pattern plane for F3A competitions has a 1400mm or 55” wingspan. It was flown on a 6s battery with a Frsky x20s transmitter with a Archer SR8 Pro 2.4 Ghz and a R9-XM 900Mhz receivers for true dual frequency control and a Frsky 80a ESC using the SmartPort for full telemetry back to the radio. Richard had his low voltage warning set on 22.6 volts and he is still calibrating his total Mah telemetry reading. The telemetry screen did not show up as well as I had hoped, but this was only Richard's third flight on this newly setup system and everything worked perfectly, so I hope we get another chance to film it again soon. Very nice! I used to dabble in Pattern in the early 1990's then rc helicopters took over . Just received my new FMS Olympus to get back into amateur Pattern again. Big air and smooth maneuvers are where it's at. Nice job !
This video was Richard's third flight, the first two were for trimming and testing. This flight was the first one where he added acrobatics. The FMS F3A Olympus is a very smooth flyer, you will love it. 😎👍
Funny you mentioned helis. I fly with Richard as well and we both flew helis for years. Had a discussion with current heli pilots that recently started flying planes. We all agreed that heli left thumb experience helped our airplane flying. Your right, big air and smooth is where it’s at.
