- More a satire than anything else, I love the game (and 600i) too much to let it go.
But there is no point playing at all until 3.18.2 - and then possibly still not.
Even if, I don't know if I take the risk and commit the little free time I have these days into it.
(reasons why I don't really post anymore)
To ALL SC average Joe's out there like me, RIP.
At this point I hope the game fails so that the management has to change and their priorities. As a community, we cannot let this slide and show our disgust with their practices.
As mentioned in my post to them on their forum, only GENREROUS compensation in UECs will salvage this PR mega disaster.

It's definitely worth the £45 starter pack money, and until recently the management didn't sh*t on own customers. The developers still seem fine.
This is the first REAL major RED flag in years. And the biggest backstab to date.
Reason why the is so much outcry from the community %65 not happy (same like like dislike ration on my channel) - meaning we know how many people exactly are just starter packs and how many have MORE than just a starter pack.
Definitely a signal not to invest more than just the starter pack.
And then, it used to be a couple months before the next wipe, now we can never trust them again which means all starter pack might have LITTLE REASON to play at all in the future.
We will have to wait and see if there will be compensation or not. Thus, I would hold out on pledging for the starter pack for now.

Just confirms what I said 1000xtimes before, only people who spend some money on "advanced" ships don't mind, because for them it means they fly their HH on day 1 one whilst everyone else is in Aurora or mustang. Quite appealing, i get it.
Don't make any of what had happened right, and you should choose carefully who you support and how, when next time it might be YOU who they will target and shit on whilst they will simply get away with it - because "IT WAS NECCESARY" - but no compensation or apology, nwm we said it was not going to happen before.

Ive been pledged for SC since the end of 2019 and ive had to start from scratch multiple times, its about learning how to get yourself back or buying a ship on the site (that which won't be scrubbed from a wipe).
The 600i had only recently been deemed a good ship due to armor but before it was absolute shite! Sure you don't have to buy more ship Jpeg's to enjoy this "alpha" but it does make it more bearable! Your choice I guess.....

(feel free to look it up on my channel - evidence and math is there)

Somebody is trying to get his quarterly bonus for "performance" a.k.a. ship sales. Possibly saw how shitty the 3.18 release was, and decided to climb the corporate ladder on all our corpses.
Heads need to roll. It's not acceptable to pull a dirty move like this on own community and not even a hint of Apology, or talk about how they will make it right going back on their word.
Tells us all we need to know what they think of us (cash cows, free bug testers).

That is what pissed me off the most and many others - and so should you. It was a spit in your face too even if you don't fully realize it.
Why so much anger, I don't usually reply anymore to videos I watch due to my take on things not fitting in line with others, however, please remember that this game is still in its Alpha stage, not Beta as most early access games on Steam etc., are.
There used to be wipes every quarter, has nobody here played rust.
We are like the godfathers of this game, we get to manipulate its future, hopefully for the best, If CIG says that the DB needs a wipe then its for good reason, I for one, would not like playing on a server that has a borked DB, would you!
Now I know its frustrating, it always is, but please remember until we get to a beta stage then wipes can happen regularly, I think this might be the part that most forget, I am not used to playing Alpha games either, and this my friends is still an early Alpha game, if you got into it thinking otherwise then whoever sent you there has some explaining to do, all the big UA-camrs mention this in their videos, maybe not so much today, but more like once maybe twice a year now.
Now on to the burning question, why did they say one thing and do the other, I could answer with (Alpha) again and how new discoveries manipulate outcomes but, I won't. I can't even comprehend the level of hierarchy that runs behind the walls of any of the CIG offices, what I do know is most of their employees are young energetic, enthusiastic, UNDERPAID people who have still a lot to learn, as the company builds the game so to will the staff get more efficient, this event will be a learning curve for them too.
So don't be so hasty to judge, CIG has been very transparent in the past, and let this be a lesson that this husk of an unrepresented venture is early Alpha, it might be pretty, but we have a long way to go, and a lot of systems that need to be implemented before we can take the jump.

I agree with this but i do believe there should be some sort of compensation because players were promised that their grind wouldnt be for nothing and then about a week before the first update comes out they tell everyone that it will be a full wipe for two updates in a row. I feel like if they do this with no sort of compensation the player count will take a toll at least for these two updates which are critical updates for testing if the DB can handle the ammount of players that they have now. They haven’t necessarily messed up yet but we will just have to see their response to the player base.
@mrgn I mean technically the 200k you start with is already a big bonus compared to what you'll start with at release. And it's not like they want to do the wipe. Just that the server data got some fucked for a lot of people, that they have no other choice. Otherwise risk more problems

I'm sure the video would also be griping if he was hit with multiple 40ks (which has the same outcome as a full wipe, only it doesn't guarantee you'll keep your stuff, because you can still get hit with another 40k and lose everything again, which is what happened to my account). I'm fine with the full wipe if it means getting the database back on track.

By the time I have about half way on LVL 5, I also hit 10M needed for 600i + ROC. Then I can switch and do what I really want.

If you think its cool to promise people that AFTER FULL WIPE loosing all your stuff, "don't worry, we will need to wipe again, but no money and REP, save it all for later" , and then saying OH, nevermind, full wipe again when I'm already burned out can buy 600i but for what 2days? That the grind was for nothing at all and the 10M I grinded I never touched to spend on anything because I wanted 600i,but never got to use it in the end anyway, that this is supposed to be OK?

@@paidinbloodgaming I agree compensation is a must, especially for people such as yourself, who grinded away for what you desire, I have been there my friend, I just hope they do it correctly, I can't remember if it was 3.16 or 3.17 or maybe neither of those but they implemented a compensation plan for players before and it didn't go well if memory serves me write someone added extra zeros to the plan meaning some people were getting ridiculous amounts of UC. Not much need for a grind when you can afford every ship in the game from the start, but non the less it needs to happen, and if they don't, then a lot of people are going to be very P***ed.

However. What's the use of having a generous amount of UEC's? Free rentals, etc. So you can play with a few ships for a month maybe a month and a half until yet ANOTHER full wipe?
It's still not worth it. You're absolutely right - the player base will drop. And how is serious testing of upcoming patches supposed to work, when there IS no player base to stress the system?
I quit in December waiting for 3.18 to come as there would be a full wipe. I don't like wasting my time, just to waste it over and over again for the same ridiculousness. Not going to bother playing (as I figure most won't) until after 3.18.2 is released. I mean, lets face it....probably released on a Friday and another @#$%^%* disaster anyway.

But for most, including me, having enough UEC's so that I DONT have to waste time again grinding so that I can fly the ship I want - testing out their "ALPHA" game would be a good start.
They want to wipe ALL, so be it, but give me 30M after each (3.18.1; 3.18.2) Wipe since they are too close together + 3.18 of course, so that I have incentive to continue "testing" the game for them.
Still shitty approach and business practice - we all know this was about money - rather the loss of potential sales on ships due to the game exploits - so screw you all average joes like me in the process.
F**k CIG management for this, not the developers. They just follow orders.
If Chris is of any character, he should bring out the guillotine and start rolling heads left and right for this betrayal of customer/fan base. That is, if he actually cares about the game and people playing it more than the potential earning margins.

@@paidinbloodgaming This whole rant looks ridiculous and is a prime example of why every other AAA studio will never let you play their games while in alpha development, or -- like in Rockstar case -- copyright strike anyone who even attempts to showcase their alpha games in development.
instead of grinding you could be training to get good at skills in the game... learn to be a good dogfighter, get better at FPS, do things that you have yet to try in the game and perfect your skills. these are things that will keep you entertained and give you a feeling of accomplishment that is far better than just thinking of grinding for a snazzy ship. this is going to be a game of how good you actually are and not what ship you are flying, a great example of this is the video where AvengerOne beats fighter pilots with a prospector... now if you get good then that is a fulfilling accomplishment that far out ways the accomplishment of grinding for a ship and it will last beyond any wipe. hell go into arena commander and essentially fly any ship for free... battle or do racing in there. it will improve your skills and skills are something they can never take from you, and with those skills the money will come quick and easy so the grind will not be that big of a deal.

I have GUIDES here on channel how to make fastest money for solo or multicrew ship - for those who care and want to know - because all of the big YTbers will tell you VHRT or mining...laughable

lulz... the salt was deep in that post, i agree they should give compensation for hours played especially since they said just days before it was going to be a soft wipe... but wow the spectrum rage is thick! i will play no matter what because it improves my skills and i have some simpler tastes than the 600i that make me happy. if you want to ROC mine hell the cutty black is better for that than the 600i anyway. far easier to park in small spots and easier to escape pirates as well. i guess i am used to games like rust that have wipes all the time as well so i am a little more forgiving... and used to losing it all.

Well that is the difference. I don't want other ships, I want 600i. I don't care about being able to do anything better in another ship.
It's like with cars. I might say that I like Pagani, and someone else might say I'm dumb because Ferrari or Lamborghini are better in everything and are cheaper.

Of course I'm sour, as explained in the post - i have sacrificed lot of sleep during heavy work weeks - in hopes it will pay off and I will be able to enjoy the game finally once I have time - not grinding away. Think of it as overtime in a shitty job so that when you have some free time, you don't need to think or do side-hustles and just enjoy the free time relaxing.
But then I got backstabbed and the pissed me off. We're not talking about 10h or so, we're talking about 3hx10 = 30h of lost sleep in hopes it will pay off pay to me when I have free time.
I was reassured that will be the case, but then I got backstabbed without even a hint of an (FAKE) apology or talk of compensation.

I understand that many people have time, or are kids and can invest lot of time into a game/s; but I don't.
An I still do chose to put the little time i got into SC when possible, but the problem is that for me it means grind first after each wipe for about two weeks (of 3h a day) before I can finally do what I want to do in it.
That is totally fine If the wipe doesn't happen back to back after me barely finishing the grind telling me it was all for nothing after reassuring me before that will not be the case.
I find it hard that people don't understand that.
It's like getting screwed is not supposed to be something to be upset about.
I don't care its over a game, the fact is, I will not get my 30h of lost sleep back and I still need to do another 30h of grind before I can enjoy the game.
I simply don't have that time, or will now, and confidence, to do that again knowing they might do just "screw you all, we're losing profits on ships sales lets do a wipe" at any point with no hesitation or remorse shown.
I can't support company that clearly doesn't give a 0 f*ck for its of customer base.
This is a big deal to many, might not be to you, but many. And that should concern you enough to at least consider that perhaps some sort of compensation would be indeed in order. losing 30h for nothing is no JOKE.
had this happened to me at work - overtime for instance without compensation, I'll switch for someone else in a heartbeat and consider a law suit.
My time is very valuable to me, it might not be to you. Thus, to me its not a joke, and you might think this is trivial.

There is no issue with the wipes itself, we all know it might happen. BUT ESPECCIALLY when it wasn't supposed to happen and it did, wasting a lot of time to a lot of people -

@@paidinbloodgaming did you know that there is a simple box mission at grimhex that is supposed to be a criminal mission but currently you can take it without a crime stat that pay 73k... you just fly out there eva to a reclaimer and pick up the one box and bring it to grimhex... you will get to that 600i in no time bud. it is called breach and return i think... i now it starts with breach. think it refreshes every 20 or 30 minutes but you can server hop to get it quicker... also if you grind for a money making ship like a prospector and you can get to that 600i quicker... you may only want a 600i but if you refuse to use other ships to be able to afford it you will take way longer to get it... grind smarter not longer buddy. also if you had a light fighter like a gladius and got good at flying it you could do vhrt bounties and get there quicker. i think your problem is how you are grinding for the money, maybe i am wrong.... but i also think you are being pretty damn salty bud LOL you could also run drugs and make bank quick... i could go on... i think you need to watch vids on how to make bank in the game and you would be less salty...
@@paidinbloodgaming Bro, I get it. I understand. I definitely value my time, it's precisely why I stopped playing the 3.18 branch after my account got hit with the 40k curse. All the grinding I did was lost.... TWICE! Because after I had to wait two days for the auto-recovery to restore my account, I got hit with another 40K. So all my effort and grinding... GONE!
So yes, I understand the frustration. However, I also understand that this is an alpha. And I've partaken in plenty of alphas where wipes are normal and can happen for any reason.
Will they likely compensate people? Maybe, probably. They did it with the 3.17.2 wipe, and they even started everybody in 3.18 with 175,000 extra aUEC. So I wouldn't doubt that they will compensate people for their time with additional bonus aUEC.
But still, that doesn't change the fact it's an alpha, and people really shouldn't be grinding seriously in an alpha game with experimental tech that isn't completed. This is precisely why companies like Rockstar never even lets people sniff their alpha builds, shares ZERO screenshots, and certainly won't even let people even think about playing it. Because new tech means frequent, non-stop wipes. That's how it is. So most big outfits simply don't let the general public play alpha builds at all to not have to deal with people getting disappointed with bugs, glitches, and frequent wipes.

It’s an incomplete product I went in expecting wipes… something a lot of people need to understand…it sucks I know … and the communication was very poor, but if full wipes are gonna fix the problems that are plaguing the server and it will help with data collection to get this game to a MVP state within the next decade then I’m ok with it… luckily it’s only a month not 6 months…

Explain to me how they can keep pledged stuff after each wipe with %100 accuracy , but not you earned UEC or REP for instance?
This is punishment of all player base for %10 exploiters who got little too rich and it's probably affecting visibly their pledge ship sales.
Nor this is my first wipe, nor I have ever mind wipes before.
But it has never before gone down this quick and against their own promises.
Had I knew from the start, I would have waited longer before coming back to play.
I was pumped up to start fresh, did my initial grind and then they spat in my face - "oh, you lost a lot of time grinding did you? WE DON'T CARE, do it again" - with no guarantees from now on that this will not happen again and the biggest GRIPE - not a hint of apology or talk of compensation - natural thing to do.

Yes I agreed with you but unfortunately part the job of a community manager/communication’s officer is take what “public” information you are given from your boss and SPIN it for the community. The less info you get, the more inaccurate and BS your statements can become later. When they were silent for a bit I knew things are not going well and the string of vague to contradictory statements tells me the teams are in chaos at CIG
i agreed with your sentiments, and yes those were my first thoughts as well. but I think we have much different levels of tolerance for BS and set much different expectations. I generally don’t waste energy on getting angry over unfinished products. I set expectations knowing I am gonna lose progress and I see things from company’s side, marketing, and consumer side of things.
I respect you and those who are outraged by this and speaking out is good because part of the metric for most companies (as long as they don’t have their head in the ground for too long) is negative feedback.
This was not a defense of what they did here but I also never expect the full or complete truths from companies. I just don’t bother staying angry. If I need to take a timeout on a game or product, I will and check progress later
Given the list of login issues, player access, worst server instability, and what knowledge I can gather what persistence is meant to do and what is has done to the overall quality of the product. I can only conclude the money exploits is definitely a factor but in addition to the amount of people in spectrum who report they still can’t login at all and the way persistence is working… I would rather have a fresh start IF that gives access again to those players and for a more stable experience.
Now I am not a dev working behind the scenes but based on what they say, how games connect with other applications/databases/services and such. To answer your opening question. Your pledges and purchases are recorded in a separate database under our player account/ID. This I can understand because it is connecting to a web service. After a full database wipe/format/server initialization our items in that separate database is referenced at the login stage, thus easily handled. Even then during THIS PATCH 3.18 it didn’t translate to the servers accordingly. Some of us got duplicate pledges ships or ships we didn’t buy in addition, I can speak for myself I got duplicate corsairs and my friend got dupes of starter ship. After he performed an upgrade of his ship to the 325A both his original and duplicate disappeared and a single 325a was placed in his hangar. Which confirms to me that at login the server and client references our login for pledges items and updates it in the server and add/remove ships from hangar database
based on recent statements they have made, and reports from other CCs l, it looks like I can get an idea that our accounts in the servers contain several separated database references, because they did say “we have a system to possibly return ships” which means that ship’s database is one reference database that can possibly be isolated and restored to us but, given how vague and shaky their statement was I am not confident they will/won’t/can/can’t restore. The money/rep/inventory stuff I can only guess are in separate recorded datasets.
Now this is the part I can guess what CIG’s attitude might be like and how lazy they want to be. If they wanted to do the player base right then the next major announcements need to confirm they can/will restore in-game purchased ships and did a manual audit of those who have accumulated aUEC at extreme rates and outlier accounts. And perform partial database wipes and sweep current active entities off the server and begin regenerating databases. Problem with that is several player accounts might still inherit problems, thus more time/labor is required to perform that task.
So as a company to save time and money a they made the decision full wipe. Which is my current conclusion of their current attitude. However the next steps… we will need to see.
What I do ask is the same as you. A compensation for us Guinea pigs in this product simulation. Because yes our time was expended in their testing.
But the scummy thing is that. we are not entitled to it because we are not considered actual customers we are considered backers of this product. And we check marked an agreement understanding we may not get exactly what we want.
And listen bro i want to remain cool you and I want to support smaller channels and I don’t like getting into fights or arguments with others. I think because I have had experience in digital marketing classes and the amount of “spin” and communication tactics I have been exposed to… I just don’t dwell on it and I am patient. I am willing to watch the final chapter of this 3.18 debacle play out and see what final actions CIG take after they get their eggs in order, what is their attitude towards us, and I will make my final conclusions there.

I CAN guarantee you they will never mess up pledged ships or items after any wipe. So where is the difference to do same for ALL of the stuff after each wipe.

I don't mind the wipe, I welcome wipes once in a couple months it gives a fresh start because after roughly 3months I would have all ships anyway.
What I DO mind is them being unapologetic and SHADY about what just happened.

Thx. There is not a bad ship in SC tbh, it's all about preference, they all can make us happy. I respect all ships and players choices.
But this ship specifically got me into SC.
The first time I saw it, I fell in love with it and imagined myself doing adventures with it. I think it was 3.14 at the time and everyone told me not to buy it because it is really expensive and it's really sh*t.
I didn't care, once I had it , it wasn't about it being best at making money or being strongest or whatever. It was about me flying it doing whatever 3K worth shittiest mission for fun enjoying the views and the scenery. That's why i fell in love with ROC later. Taking my 600i with ROC to mine at Daymar made me happy for the views and scenery i got along the whole way.
Little did I know at the time, it was actually the strongest solo ship, which also meant the fastest money-maker doing beacons. It's still pretty much is. ( i know disputed but I have the math and receipts)

For all the new players, all I can say is there was a point in time where literally every patch came with a full wipe! It's literally written and people dont need to get they're panties in a bunch, it's an ALPHA DEAL WITH IT! THIS IS HOW WE GET THE GAME WE'RE ALL HERE FOR! I don't know why it's so hard for some people to understand! I totally understand there frustration but it's not that hard to start over from zero!

I just started 2 weeks ago and am fully aware of all the Wipes to come so imagine how I felt learning all that I've worked for since I started is gonna ge gone. I just started saving to get my first ship too. then, after this wipe then what do i do? Start saving all over again to have it wiped YET AGAIN?? it's fucking bullshit and it's killed 3/4 of my drive to play in any way. Just sucks alot
Pretty much man, CIG needs to start compensating people for its failures and backstabbing if they want to retain the majority of the player base.
I'm pretty sure right now it is pretty much killed off except for those who pledged for larger ships a large sums of money.
If nothing else, for average Joe like me who only had starter pack - and was thinking of progressive upgrading over time - would never invest any more money into the game, ever.
This might be it for CIG, they might have very well kill off the game in a sense that no one, who didn't pledge more than starter pack into the game will ever consider to pledge more - unless complete re-build of the management and appropriate actions taken towards the players starting with proper apology and compensations.

Don't get me wrong though, I've come to love this game like no other I've played and looking back on the 2 weeks I've played regardless of knowing or not ab Wipes, I still enjoyed it ALOT. just feel kinda lost with how to go about the next month or 2 before they're at point where they'll stop wiping so frequently and suddenly. grind enough for a gladius or arrow and work on your dog fighting skills...join an org and borrow ships from them or be a turret gunner. if your a noob then just work on your skills to prep for the future... the wipes have been part of this game from the start and they will be here in the future for who knows how long. if that is a huge problem for you then if you have had the game for less than 30 days you can get a refund or sell your package on the grey market. i play games like rust where wipes are a monthly occurrence and losing everything can happen in an instant so i do not get all this salt.

I don't play the game to amass anything, but I need to amass first before I can really enjoy the game. Different ship - different game loops.
There is not a bad ship in SC tbh, it's all about preference, they all can make us happy. I respect all ships and players choices.
But 600i specifically got me into SC.
The first time I saw it, I fell in love with it and imagined myself doing adventures with it. I think it was 3.14 at the time and everyone told me not to buy it because it is really expensive and it's really sh*t.
I didn't care, once I had it , it wasn't about it being best at making money or being strongest or whatever. It was about me flying it doing whatever 3K worth shittiest mission for fun enjoying the views and the scenery. That's why i fell in love with ROC later. Taking my 600i with ROC to mine at Daymar made me happy for the views and scenery i got along the whole way.
Little did I know at the time, it was actually the strongest solo ship, which also meant the fastest money-maker doing beacons. It's still pretty much is. ( i know disputed but I have the math and receipts)

Well 2 weeks after this turns out the second wipe was only inventory stuff, and you only have a mustang, so looks like your good so long as you played after the first wipe. There will be more wipes, so if this upsets you, I can only recommend saving up and buying the ship on the store page at IAE, hopefully it will be on sale. The 600i is due for a rework relatively soon anyways so I hope the rework will be to your liking.
No I didn't play, as the other %70 of players that didn't, and what they did was a double backstab to spite us all again, no doubt. Disgusting behaviour.
The issue wasn't the wipe, there were always wipes and I always look forward for the wipe.(there is a point when you have all the ships and money in the world, you looking forward to start over)
The issue was how they unapologetically lied about it. People like me already did invest the initial painful time investment [2 weeks grind in my case] before the game really starts for us. That is no joke if you value your time. I do mine.
Then, there was the second backstab (by not wiping when saying they will) to punish us again for the boycotting of 3.18 and give advantage those who did play anyway - their YES men. Surely to add more insult to the injury - flexing on us that they can and they will. Beyond appalling.
Even more proof the CIG management as a whole needs to go, and that they really shit on us all. (including their YES men, I was one once upon a time...)
And people defend them? It boggles the mind...
I was playing with the idea to invest more money into SC (but not £400 for 600i) - because I find their prices ridiculous, but now that will never ever happen unless there will be visible change in the CIG culture towards their player base, or the CIG management as a whole resigns.
So I guess pretty much never.

Giving them MORE money whilst they are shitting on us is not going to help the game at all. In fact, it will do the exact opposite, since it will be more profitable for them to keep "doing mistakes", never finish the game and keep collecting more than ever on ships sales.
This is the best game, and I will keep playing it, but it also has the WORST disgusting exploiting management in the history of video games and I will not support them with any of my money no more, and will voice out every time they fuck up again to their faces.

yep, at 286k/day its only to do 30 bunkers after wipe before I can fly it, not even able to up its drive (so its faster around verse when visiting places).
I might do it when I do 60K mission on lvl3, but that is till hour wasted just so I'm at square 0 the next day again.
Not a great long term strategy time wise. I rather go through that grind for two weeks first, then I never have to worry about UEC or grind ever again - until next wipe.
This time it was just a proper sh*t on all our heads by CIG. And many are apparently happy to take it regardless.
I bet that they have already invested god knows how much money, so the idea that everyone else who hasn't will loose everything whilst they start day 1 with HH is appealing to them.

I rather quit SC altogether then let CIG win and pledge more money to them (£400) so that I can avoid the 2weeks grind. Which is exactly what this is about, not fixing anything. Else they would be very quick with announcement of the compensations to begin with.

Agreed this game is now dead for the foreseeable future probably 6 months just not worth grinding until it gets a major overhaul from the dumpster fire of 3.18.
Also, I was actually thinking about progressively upgrading my ship by pledging more before. But now, with this attitude, I have to vote with my wallet as much as with my time. I will never ever consider putting more money towards SC ever again. (with the same management at helm)
