- Today we went to Barangay Ermita which has a bit of a bad reputation in the media so I decided to check it out and it was for sure lively and was welcomed by friendly locals! Probably the best day i have had in Cebu Philippines

Tom, thank you for the genuine Filipino content. You can tell they are most likely the friendliest people on the planet. The kids have no care in the world thanks to the lack of social media in the most poorest areas. Love these type of vlogs
The crazy part about this, is they see so few Caucasian people that they know you are a stranger, and the most FANTASTIC part is, they are so welcoming and friendly to a stranger. Test that out in most small rural cities in the U.S. If they see the opposite in color scheme, probably the reverse will happen, or just ignoring the stranger that was identified by the color of their skin. It's a complete 180 from this video most of the time.
You are crazy, Dude! I'm a Cebuano, but I don't dare touch these places you visited: Ermita, Pasil, and did you say at the back of Carbon? What's next? Dulho and beyond? I guess that is your luster; your productions are raw, authentic, and funny. Thank you, Tom, for allowing us to see these locations through your experiences.
This is the real Philippines where real Filipinos live. This is who we truly are. Most foreigners can only see the sandy beaches made for them by the enterprising locals with the aid of our colonial minded government and the tall buildings of Ayala and Makati where the true rich, the social climbers and the hypocrites are merging.
Foreigners who truly want to know the real Philippines must come to Ermita, Pasil, Dulho, Carlock, Sapatera, C Padilla, T. Padilla, Carbon, Taboan etc. The places where the carpenters, tailors, construction workers, cooks, waiters, laborers, building electricians, security guards, school teachers, nurses, sales girls and all those who form the back bone of this country live. I know because I lived my childhood in Garfield Pasil from 1965 to 1978.

Hidden from most people's eyes, cyber porn and sex all sent to foreigners around the world, very bad, just watched a documentary òn it. They take advantage of the poor and even parents selling their own children for the pleasures of disgusting western and far eastern men. Poverty drives people to do the unthinkable. Right there in Cebu the authorities just busted a big sex ring.
This is actually how it is in Philippines. If you are respectful, humble and fun with Filipinos they give back 100000%.
Lol yeah right. I'm in Antipolo, and you can forget about respect. It doesn't exist in the real Philippines. It's filled with thieves, scammers, liars, cheaters, shameless, and ignorant people. Everyone lectures others and then do the opposite of what they said minutes before.They use religion to hide their wrongdoings.
Thus was a super enjoyable video. It's the real world in the Philippines! The people have nothing but look how beautiful, kind and generous the poor are. Anyone watching this video should appreciate what they have and just enjoy life!

I am a foreigner who has lived in the Philippines for more than 2 years. I consider the Philippines my "Forever Home" I miss the Philippines so much and i wish if i could go back in time and never leave.😥❤❤❤
Tom is serious to adapt the Filipino way of life, he is not afraid roaming around every place he put his heart to explore! Be safe though.

I loved this Video BUT!!! I have to be honest I would not be able to handle all them kids around me . I have always been the type that will wait till the kids are going home then feed them a lot of sweets to punish the parents for bringing the kids around me lol. I am not a fan of large crowds . I would have stayed with the guys at the end of the Video and drank Red Horse with them because they kept the kids at Bay . Don't misunderstand I love kids just not so many at one time . The Video is proof why so many Love the Philippines. The people no matter what life brings them are always happy and pleasant to be around. I don't think their is another Country that is as friendly as the Philippines.

I used to walk in that streets when i was in college, thats the most dangerous places in cebu city, duljo, pasil, ermita, b rodriguez, t. padilla and etc, but yet you showed in your vlogs that there are many friendly people in that areas, im reliving that streets in your vlogs, thank you man, youre a gangster 😅
It's a friendly place if you'll show respect and treat them equal
But if you're acting like a boss and looked all those poor people down and discriminate you will not get out alive in that particular place so be carefull and be friendly

I like to see where the locals live, they maybe poor but have a great sense of community and so friendly, they dont see white men very often and you are younger so they see you as potential husband material, you would get a different reception if you were with MJ I think.

I love the kids there, they are alway smiley happy and friendly. Not sure about having that many around me though haha. Maybe it’s an age thing, like avoiding walking those sort of places now. I had totally different experience with the kids, but probably because I was never recording. There would be a group of kids watching, and I would hear a lone voice say hello from the brave one that got dared. I always had a bag of candy in my backpack, and once I gave a piece suddenly they were all brave enough to say hello. 😅

Ermita and Pasil are home to the biggest slums in Cebu, not as big as Tondo but it covers from Pasil to Mambaling.

Nice i was cebu in june for 2 weeks,going back in january for 2 weeks,had so much fun there,people are so nice cant wait to go back and have more balut and fried bananas i could live there if i wanted to,maybe someday i will :)
